Important safety instructions ∙ In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see appendix). ∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely. ∙ Wipe the individual parts with a damp cloth. The holders can be cleaned in rinsing water or in the dishwasher. Then dry it off thoroughly. ∙ For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section Cleaning and care. ∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the egg boiler with water and do not immerse it. ∙ This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as the - staff kitchens in shops, ofces and other similar working environments, - agricultural working environments, - by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation, - in bed-and breakfast type environments. ∙ Caution! Be careful when handling the egg piercer. ∙ Warning! The exterior surfaces and the water bowl become hot during use and will remain so for some time afterwards. Grip the hot appliance only by its handle. ∙ Warning! Hot steam may be emitted from the lid. ∙ Warning! Any misuse can cause severe personal injury. ∙ The device may be used by children from 8 years onwards as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lack of experience and knowledge provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. ∙ Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance. ∙ Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised12 104 x 142 mm and at least 8 years of age. ∙ The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times. ∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – such materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation. ∙ Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment tted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Do not operate the appliance underneath sensitive objects or furniture such as wall- cupboards, as hot steam is emitted from the lid during use. ∙ No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with. Before using for the rst time ∙ Unpack the device and remove all packaging material and any advertising stickers from the device. The nameplate must not be removed. ∙ Operate the device once with the egg holder, but without eggs, with the /medium setting, as described in “Operation”. ∙ Clean the poaching/steamer basket in soapy water and dry it. Boiling eggs ∙ Fill the measuring cup completely with cold water and pour the measured quantity into the water bowl. ∙ Pierce the blunt end of each egg with the piercer; this will reduce the risk of the eggs cracking during boiling. ∙ Place the eggs into the holder, t the holder onto the water bowl and put the lid on. ∙ Plug in the power plug.104 x 142 mm

∙ Set the desired degree of hardness with the rotary control: – soft – medium – hard ∙ The markings apply to fridge-cold eggs of size M. ∙ An individual stepless setting is possible depending on the number and size of eggs: For smaller eggs and eggs at room temperature, turn the control a little further to the left. For larger eggs, turn the control a little further to the right. ∙ A beep sounds and the indicator light ashes when the cooking time for the set degree of hardness has expired. ∙ Turn the rotary control to . ∙ Remove the plug from the wall socket. ∙ Open the lid. Caution: When the lid is opened, hot steam will escape. ∙ Remove the egg holder with the eggs from the bowl and place it immediately under cold running water. Poached eggs ∙ Fill the supplied measuring cup completely with cold water and pour the contents into the water bowl. ∙ Place the poaching/steamer basket on the water bowl. ∙ Crack open two eggs and spread evenly between the two hollows in the poaching/steamer basket. Close the device with the lid. ∙ Plug in the power plug. ∙ Set the degree of hardness with the rotary control. ∙ The indicator light comes on. The appliance is now pre-heating. ∙ A beep sounds when the cooking time has expired and the indicator light ashes. ∙ Turn the rotary control to . The indicator light goes out.
