Important safety instructions
This appliance is designed for use in indoor as well as protected outdoor areas only.
- The barbecue grill must only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations. It must be operated with an additional earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30 mA.
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label.
The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments (see appendix).
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Caution: Do not, under any circumstances, use charcoal or any other solid or liquid
fuel to operate the grill.
- Do not use the barbecue grill with any thermostat plug other than the one provided.
- Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the mains first, then remove the thermostat plug and let the grill cool down.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, the power cord with thermostat plug must not be immersed in liquid or even allowed to come into contact with it.
Clean the grill plate with hot soapy water. Ensure that the grill plate with the thermostat connection is absolutely dry before the grill is used again. - For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section Cleaning and care.
This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as - in staff kitchens in shops, offies and other similar working environments, - in agricultural working environments, - by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation, - in bed-and breakfast type environments.
This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised and at least 8 years of age.
The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times.
Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children - these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
- Caution: Do not, under any circumstances, cover the grill plate completely with aluminium foil, barbecue dishes or other items, as the resulting build-up of heat could cause irreparable damage to the grill.
Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- Ensure that the grill and base stand are placed in a safe and stable position. The power cord should be routed in such a way that no one is likely to trip over it.
During operation, the barbecue grill must be placed on a level, heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes and stains. When grilling food with a high fat or moisture content, splashes are not always avoidable. - Do not position the grill next to a wall or corner, and ensure that no infl ammable materials are stored near it.
- Before the grill is used, always check that the drip tray is correctly fitted in the barbecue grill.
The barbecue grill must be supervised at all times during operation. - Caution: Always bear in mind that the housing surfaces and the grill plate become very hot during operation. There is a severe danger of burns. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the handles during and after operation.
-

Always remove the plug from the wall socket -
after use,
- in case of any malfunction, and
-
during cleaning.
-
The use of an extension-lead reel causes a loss of power, possibly combined with a subsequent heat build-up in the cable. It is therefore necessary to unwind the cable completely if a cable reel is used. Make sure that the reel is approved for outdoor use by the manufacturer.
-
Caution: Do not move the grill when it
is in use. Before carrying, transporting or storing the grill, ensure that is has suffi cientsly cooled down.
- Ensure that the grill is not stored outdoors, or in any other location where it might be subjected to extremes of temperature or high humidity.
- No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Overview and parts included
- Hood
- Grill plate with thermostat connection
- Plug-type thermostat with power cord
- Drip tray
- Grill pan
- Connection piece
- Vertical support
- Storage tray
- Base
Before using for the first time
- Remove any packaging materials and stickers from the appliance.
Clean the grill plate with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. - Wipe all other parts with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Grill assembly:
Prior to assembly, check that all parts are complete in accordance with the section Overview and parts included.
The screws holding the individual components are already in place and must be removed prior to assembly.
- Fit the support into the base and push it down until it is secure and stable.
- Place the storage tray onto the support and pull it down until it connects with the screws on the support.
- Turn the grill pan over and fit the connection piece onto the pan in such a way that the openings in the connection piece are aligned with the mounting holes on the underside of the pan. Use the screws to secure the connection piece to the pan.
- Turn the grill pan over again and use gentle pressure to fit it onto the support.
- Place the hood onto the grill pan. Adjust the hood so that the hinges are correctly aligned. Slide the bolts through the hinge openings and secure them with the locking pins by pushing the pins through the holes in the bolts.
- Fit the handle to the hood and secure it with the screws.
- Place the drip tray in the centre of the grill pan.
- Screw the thermostat connection in place on the underside of the grill plate.
- Turn the grill plate over again and fit it to the grill pan in such a way that the thermostat connection fits into the designated opening.
- Remove the rubber cap from the thermostat plug and insert the plug into
the connection on the grill plate.
Heating-up for the first time
- Insert the plug into a suitable earthed power outlet.
- Let the grill heat up without any food for about 10 minutes, with the hood closed, at maximum power. This will remove the smell typically encountered when first switching on a grill. A little smoke may be emitted; this is quite normal, but ensure there is adequate ventilation by opening windows or balcony doors.
- Clean the grill plate as described in the Cleaning and care section.
Thermometer
The thermometer in the hood shows guide values for cooking chamber temperature. The sectors ROAST and HOT are suitable for grilling and cooking food. The sectors WARM and DEFROST are suitable for keeping food warm.
Grilling
- Check that the barbecue grill has been correctly assembled and is standing securely.
- Insert the plug into a suitable earthed power outlet.
- Turn the thermostat control knob to position 10. The indicator light comes on, and the grill plate heats up.
Once the temperature is high enough, open the hood and put the food on.
Grilling is possible with the hood open or closed. With it closed, higher temperatures are reached and - because of an effect similar to a baking oven -
indirect grilling takes place.
The temperature can be adjusted as necessary, up or down, with the temperature control.
Once the grilling process is finished:
- Turn the thermostat control knob back to position 1.
- Remove the plug from the power outlet fi rst, and then disconnect the thermostat plug. Replace the rubber cap on the thermostat plug.
- Allow the grill to cool down.
Cleaning and care
- Ensure that the grill is thoroughly cleaned after use.
- Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the mains first, then remove the thermostat plug and let the grill cool down.
- Do not use metallic pads or abrasive cleaning agents.
Take off the grill plate and clean it in warm soapy water. To remove persistent food residues, it can be left soaking for a while (but keeping the thermostat connection as dry as possible). The grill-plate and especially the thermostat connection must be thoroughly dried. - To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the power cord or thermostat plug with any liquid and do not immerse them. The thermostat connection may be wiped with a slightly damp lint-free cloth.
- The hood and other parts can be cleaned with a cloth soaked in soapy water, and should be wiped completely dry afterwards.
