appliance may become damaged – danger of electric shock!
17. Do not shake or relocate the appliance while it is in operation.
18. Use the Solis Thermo Kettle only to heat water. It is not suitable for brewing cof-
fee, tee or hot chocolate and the like.
19. Only switch the appliance on when there is enough water in the kettle, other-
wise the appliance might be damaged.
20. Should there be too little water in the kettle or should the water have evapo-
rated, thereby triggering the overheat protection, pull the plug and let the appli- ance cool down for 15 minutes before refilling cold water into the kettle.
21. Use the appliance only as described in this manual. Never switch the appliance
on with an empty kettle. Improper use can cause personal injury. Only fill the ket- tle with cold water and never exceed the MAX marking on the inside of the kettle.

hot! As the kettle itself gets warm, you should only touch it by the handle when lifting it.
32. Avoid contact with hot steam that might escape from the spout once the water
is boiling and the button for unlocking the spout latch has been pressed. Always pour hot water out of the spout carefully and slowly to prevent it from splash- ing and scalding somebody.
33. The lid can be carefully removed after the appliance has been switched off (push
both lid locks inward). For safety reasons, we recommend always pouring hot water through the spout, which requires that the button for unlocking the spout latch is pressed, and not lifting the lid. For your own safety, the lid can only be removed when both lid locks are pushed inward simultaneously.
34. Be especially careful when lifting or carrying the kettle filled with hot water.
35. Never start the appliance using a remote or timer.
36. Use only the included kettle and lid with the appliance and do not use the ket-
tle with another appliance. Improper accessories can cause electric shock, fire or personal damage and damage the appliance itself.

Before the first use, the kettle has to be rinsed. Proceed as follows:
- Remove the lid from the kettle by pushing both lid locks inward and simultane- ously lifting the lid.
- Wash the lid under running water with a soft cloth and dry it.
- Fill the kettle with cold tap water to the MAX marking on the inside of the ket- tle. Caution: The MAX marking must never be exceeded! The maximum capacity is 1,5 liters.
- Place the filled kettle on the appliance base and close the lid, locking it into place.
- Plug the power plug into a suitable power socket.
- Touch the ON/OFF button and then repeatedly the
button, until the blue dot lights up at 100.
- Wait for the water to come to the boil. The end of the boiling process is indi- cated by an acoustic signal and all control lights going out (except for the one indicating the selected temperature). Then, carefully pour the water out of the spout. To do this, press the button for unlocking the spout latch.
- Repeat the process twice more.
- Now, your appliance is ready for operation.51
1. Place the appliance base on a dry, even work space out of the reach of children.
Place the power cord so that the appliance can not by pulled down by it.
2. Take the kettle, push both lid locks inward and simultaneously lift off the lid.
3. Fill cold tap water into the kettle (note the MAX marking in the kettle, max. 1,5
liters) and replace the lid on the kettle by pushing the lid locks inward again to perfectly close and lock the kettle. Caution: The lid must be properly placed on the kettle and locked when heating water.
4. If necessary, dry the outside and bottom of the kettle. Place the kettle on the dry
5. Place the power plug in a suitable power outlet. The dots on the temperature
bar light up briefly in blue and a beep is sounded.
6. Touch the ON/OFF button, the symbol lights up in blue.
7. Set the desired water temperature by either touching the
button to increase the temperature or the
button to decrease the temperature. You can set a tem- perature between 40°C and 100°C at steps of 10°C. The dot lights up blue in accordance with the set temperature.
8. After you have set the temperature, the appliance will take a few seconds before
starting to heat the water. You can tell the temperature rising and what tem- perature the water currently has by the red dots on the control panel.
9. Once the set temperature is reached, the blue dot changes to a red dot and all
the other dots at the lower temperatures go out. A single beep is sounded, the appliance automatically switches to standby mode and the light by the ON/OFF button goes out. The light at the current water temperature keeps glowing red.
10. When the water slowly cools down, the red dot on the temperature bar on the
control panel will move accordingly. You can tell the current temperature of the water in the kettle from the position of the red light.
11. Carefully lift the kettle off the appliance base, press the button for unlocking the
spout latch and carefully pour the water through the spout into a prepared con- tainer. Alternatively, you can remove the lid by pushing both lid locks inward and simultaneously lifting off the lid. For safety reasons, we recommend always pour- ing boiling water through the spout and not lifting off the lid. Caution: Always be careful not to burn or scald yourself on the hot steam escap- ing from the spout or the kettle opening!
12. Should there be any water left in the kettle that you want to keep hot, you can
place the kettle back on the appliance base. The current water temperature can be told from the position of the red light.52
13. If you want to reheat the water to the set temperature, you can simply touch
the ON/OFF button again resp. change the temperature setting. Caution: The appliance will only switch on and heat the water if the difference between current water temperature and set water temperature is at least 5°C.
14. If you do not need any more hot water, pull the power plug, pour the remain-
ing water out of the kettle and let the appliance cool down. Tips:
- To save energy, the appliance can not be immediately reactivated after heating water to 100°C. The water in the kettle has to have cooled down to about 90°C before you can restart the boiling process.
- Do not tilt the filled kettle too much and never turn it upside down, even when the lid is firmly shut. Water can escape even when the lid is closed!
- Always make sure that the lid is locked to the kettle before switching on the appliance.
- To lower the pressure in the kettle, it is recommended to keep the button for unlocking the spout latch pressed for a few seconds after the boiling process before lifting and emptying the kettle. ■ OVERHEAT PROTECTION
- Should the appliance overheat, f.e. if there is no or too little water in the kettle or if it has already evaporated, the appliance automatically switches off. In this case, pull the plug and let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes before using it again.53
1. Never exceed the MAX marking when filling the kettle as this might cause the
water to splash out of the kettle during boiling and cause scalding resp. electric shock!
2. Filled to the MAX marking, the kettle holds 1,5 liters of water.
3. Always check if the lid is correctly closed and locked before connecting the power
4. Dry the kettle outside as well as the kettle bottom and the appliance base before
plugging in the plug.
5. Should the temperature difference between the current water temperature in the
kettle and the set temperature be less than 5°C, the appliance can not be reac- tivated.
6. When the appliance is in operation mode or in standby mode, every touch of
symbol will decrease the temperature by 10°C, the light at the corres- ponding temperature lights up blue. 40°C is the lowest temperature that can be set. Every touch of the
symbol will increase the temperature by 10°C, the light at the corresponding temperature lights up blue. 100°C is the highest temper- ature that can be set. If the set water temperature is lower than the actual water temperature in the kettle, the appliance can not be started.
7. The blue light always indicates the set water temperature, the red light indicates
the current water temperature.
8. When the water has reached the set temperature, the light corresponding to the
chosen number lights up red and a single beep can be heard, all other red dots go out. The appliance ends the heating process and switches to standby mode.
9. During heating, the heating process can be stopped resp. the appliance can be
switched to standby mode at any time by touching the ON/OFF button.
10. If the water temperature is below 40°C or the kettle is not on the appliance base,
no light on the control panel lights up.
11. If there is only a small amount of water in the kettle, the set temperature, espe-
cially in the lower ranges, might be slightly exceeded. This is because the small amount of water is quickly heated by the powerful heater element. It surpasses the set temperature, even though the heater element is switched off as quickly as possible.
12. Because it is necessary for steam being able to escape during boiling, the lid will
not close completely, even when locked into position. Therefore, water can escape when the full kettle is tilted, placed on the side or even turned upside down. Consequently, the filled kettle has to be kept in an upright position at all times.54
13. This product is not calibrated for commercial or scientific use. The temperatures
can vary by +/- 5 degrees, however, they all are in the range for optimally brew- ing all sorts of tea and coffee. Note:
- Thanks to the vacuum between the inner and the outer wall, this kettle can hold the water temperature in the kettle up for long periods of time. This vacuum decreases over the years so that the water cools down a bit quicker, however, the double-walled stainless steel kettle will even then have very good insulating qualities and, when treated right, will serve you well for a long time.▲
1. Before cleaning, pull the plug and let the electric kettle cool down completely.
2. Never submerge the kettle or the appliance base in water or spray any water on
the appliance parts. Risk of electric shock!
3. Clean the outside of the kettle and the appliance base with a slightly moist cloth
and dry the inside of the kettle. Rinse the lid with warm dishwater and a soft cloth and then dry it. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or solvents and no scratching materials to clean the appliance, this might damage the surfaces. ■ DESCALING
- After prolonged use or through hard water, lime deposits can form in the ket- tle and reduce operating performance and impair the water taste.
- Solis recommends regularly (depending on water hardness, however at least once a month) descaling your kettle with a mixture of SOLIPOL
forte and water. Please use only SOLIPOL
forte (art.-no. 703.01) for descaling the appliance. Damages caused by the use of unsuitable descaling agent are not covered by warranty.
- Please note the dosages and application times given on the SOLIPOL
- After emptying out the descaling solution, you have to fill the kettle with fresh, cold tap water to the MAX marking, bring it to the boil and pour the water out again each time to remove all remains of the descaling solution. Do this three times and under all circumstances.
- When the electric kettle is not needed, it should be disconnected from the power and dried.
- Store the cool, clean and dry appliance in an upright position, best in the orig- inal packaging. Do not place any objects on the appliance.
