You can also download this operating manual from our website: www.dirtdevil.de Concerning certain groups of persons This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and older and by persons with im- paired physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience or knowledge as long as they are supervised or instructed in the proper use of the appliance and understand the risks involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Children must not perform cleaning or user maintenance without supervision. Packing material and small parts must not be used as toys. There is risk of asphyxia- tion. Children under the age of 8 should be kept away from the appliance, the mains adapter and the mains adapter cord whilst they are switched on, plugged in at the socket or are cooling down. Information on the power supply The appliance is charged with electrical current. Thus there is always risk of electri- cal shock. You must therefore observe the following: Never touch the rechargeable battery or mains adapter with wet hands. Never immerse the appliance, the rechargeable battery or the mains adapter in water or other liquids. Always take hold of the mains adapter when you wish to disconnect the mains adapter from the mains socket. Never pull on the mains adapter’s cord. 15 Always check the mains adapter cord for possible damage before using the appliance. Never use a mains adapter with a damaged cord or plug. Only ever connect the mains adapter to sockets which carry the voltage indicated on the mains adapter. Before cleaning or performing user main- tenance on the appliance, ensure that the appliance is switched o and that the mains adapter is not connected. Before using the appliance, ensure that the appliance is not connected to the mains adapter. About the brushbar The brushbar in the turbo head rotates at high speed. This poses various hazards to people, animals and objects: Never vacuum people, animals or plants. Keep parts of the body and items of clothing away from the moving parts and openings of the appliance when it is in operation. They may otherwise be drawn in and cause injuries. Before you detach or attach, open or clean the turbo head, switch o the appliance. Do not run over cords, cables etc. as they could get tangled in the brushbar and be damaged. Keep the brushbar away from all delicate surfaces to avoid damaging them. Refer to the manufacturer’s cleaning and care instructions, this may otherwise cause damage. Keep the brushbar away from curtains, drapes and fringes, as they could otherwise be drawn in and damaged. Only use the brushbar to clean carpets. About the rechargable battery There is a risk of injury if rechargeable batte- ries are handled incorrectly. Only use the mains adapter included in the scope of supply to charge the recharge- able battery. Never short-circuit the rechargeable bat- tery, i.e. never touch both poles simultane- ously, especially with electrically conductive objects. Never take the rechargeable battery apart, never deform it and never expose it to high temperatures. Improper handling can cause uid to leak from the rechargeable battery. Avoid any contact with such uid. If you have come into contact with the escaping uid, rinse it o with plenty of water and consult a doctor. Make sure the mains adapter is not con- nected before removing the battery. If the appliance is faulty If the appliance, the mains adapter or the mains adapter cord are damaged, they will need to be replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s customer service department or a similarly qualied person in order to prevent hazards.

Attaching the wall mount

Choose a location to store the appliance, prefera-bly near a mains socket. Connect the appliance with the wall mount (Fig.

ENMaintaining the appliance Emptying the dust collector

Press the wand release button (Fig

) and remove the reach wand or the accessory from the handheld. Hold the handheld over a bin and press the dirt release button (Fig.

NOTE: For best cleaning results, tap the lters over a bin every 4 – 6 uses and wash them every 3 months. Empty the dust collector, > “Emptying the dust collector” on page 19. Twist the lter cover anti- clockwise to unlock (Fig. ) and remove the lter cover from the handheld. Pull the tab on the l-ter (Fig.

) to remove it from the cover. Pull the round foam lter to remove it from the handheld. Tap both lters over a bin to remove dirt. Rinse out the lters under running water (max. 40 °C). Leave the lters dry for at least 24 hours before putting them back in the appliance. Cleaning the separator

Empty the dust collector, > “Emptying the dust collector” on page 19. Twist the lter cover anti-clockwise to unlock (Fig. ) and remove lter coverfrom the handheld. Press dust collector release button to open the dust collector. To release the separator, push from inside the dust collector and pull out the separator to remove (Fig.

Tap lter and sepa- rator over a bin to remove dirt. Rinse out the lter under running water (max. 40 °C). Let the l-ter dry for at least 24 hours before putting it back in the appliance. Removing blockages

Carefully remove any hair from the turbo head with a pair of scissors in order to remove any blockages. Use a broomstick or similar blunt object to remove blockages from the reach wand. Removing and replacing the brushbar

Find the letter “A” on the base of the turbo head to indicate the cover you need to remove (Fig.

Use a screwdriver to unscrew the three screws and remove the cover. Slide the brushbar out of the housing (Fig.
