Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 366317 AURIOL

How to install the battery of the Auriol IAN 366317 wall clock?
Turn over the clock and open the battery compartment. Insert a 1.5 V AA LR6 battery respecting polarity: first the negative pole, then press on the positive pole. The clock automatically starts searching for the radio signal.
How to manually set the time if the radio signal is not received?
Press and hold the SET button (2) for at least 3 seconds to enter manual mode. Then briefly press SET to advance the hands in one-minute increments until the desired time. After 8 seconds of inactivity, the clock exits manual mode.
Why does the clock not synchronize with the DCF/MSF radio signal?
Reception may be disrupted by obstacles (concrete walls) or interference sources (electrical devices). Try placing the clock near a window. You can also initiate a manual search by holding down the REC button (3) for at least 5 seconds. Synchronization takes between 3 and 12 minutes.
What to do if the clock displays an incorrect time after receiving the signal?
Perform a reset by pressing the reset button (4) with a pointed object (e.g., pencil) or by removing and reinserting the battery. The clock will then restart the radio signal search.
What is the battery life and how to know when to replace it?
Battery life is approximately 9 months depending on reception quality. When the battery is low, the second hand stops first, but the hour and minute hands continue until the voltage is too low. Replace the battery as soon as you notice a malfunction.
How to clean the wall clock?
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the housing. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. Remove the battery before deep cleaning or if you do not use the clock for an extended period.
What are the risks related to batteries and how to avoid them?
Batteries can be swallowed (deadly danger) or explode if recharged. Do not short-circuit or open batteries. In case of leakage, wear gloves and rinse affected areas. Remove used batteries from the product and dispose of them according to regulations.
What to do in case of malfunction under warranty?
Contact customer service by phone (0800904879 for France) or by email (owl@lidl.fr). Keep the receipt as proof of purchase. If the product is defective, send it postage paid with a description of the defect. The warranty is 3 years from the date of purchase.
Does the clock display temperature and humidity?
Yes, the Auriol IAN 366317 wall clock displays indoor temperature (functional range 10 °C to 40 °C) and humidity (functional range 20% to 80%). The display may be less accurate outside these ranges.
Can I use the clock outdoors?

Radio Signal (DCF for HG06544A,B, MSF for HG06544A,B-BS): HG06544A,B:

The DCF signal (time signal transmitter) consists of time pulses emitted by one of the most accurate clocks in the world. This clock is located close to Frankfurt / Main, Germany and it can usually achieve an accuracy within a hundredth of a second relative to the time standard.

Your radio-controlled wall clock receives these signals under ideal conditions up to a distance of approx. 1,500 km around Frankfurt / Main. Reception of the radio signal generally takes approx. 3 to 12 minutes.

22 GB/IE

HG06544A,B-BS:

The MSF signal (time signal transmitter) consists of time pulses emitted by one of the most accurate clocks in the world. This clock is located in Anthorn, UK and it can usually achieve an accuracy within a hundredth of a second relative to the time standard.

Your radio-controlled wall clock receives these signals under ideal conditions up to a distance of approx. 1,500 km Anthorn, UK. Reception of the radio signal generally takes approx. 3 to 12 minutes.

Note: Reception may be considerably reduced by obstructions (e.g. concrete walls) or sources of interference (e.g. other electrical products). In the event of reception problems, change the position of the wall clock (e.g. to somewhere near a window).

Operation

Receiving the DCF / MSF radio time signal

Insert a 1.5 V AA / LR6 battery with the correct polarity into the battery compartment on the back of the product.
The wall clock automatically starts to search for the DCF / MSF radio time signal. This process takes about 3 to 12 minutes to complete.

Within 4 minutes, the hands will move to 12 o'clock. The radio signal reception is initiated once all the hands have moved to the 12 o'clock position. After 3 to 10 minutes, the clock will receive the signal and set itself to the exact time.

The reception of the DCF / MSF radio time signal by the wall clock can also be started manually.

Press and hold the REC button at least 5 seconds. The wall clock attempts to receive the DCF / MSF radio time signal. This process takes a few minutes to complete.

Note: If the wall clock was not able to receive the DCF / MSF radio time signal because of errors, e.g. due your location to being at too great a distance from the transmitter or for other reasons, you can set the time manually. The manually set value is overwritten as soon as reception of the DCF / MSF radio time signal is successful.

Note: For products in tended for Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Finland and Greece, the display stops at "01:00".

Setting the time manually

Press and hold the SET button at least 3 seconds. The wall clock switches into manual mode.
Press and hold the SET button again until the hands reach the correct position for you to set the time.
- Briefly pressing the SET button moves the hands forward in one minute steps to enable you to set the current time manually.

Note: After 8 seconds without pressing the SET button 2 , the wall clock switches out of manual mode and keeps the time as normal. The manually set value is overwritten as soon as the reception of the DCF / MSF radio time signal is successful.

Resetting the settings

Press the RESET button to reset the radio clock settings. Alternatively, remove the battery from the product and insert it again. The product now automatically starts to search for the DCF / MSF radio time signal.

Note: Press RESET button 4 with a pointed object (e.g. pencil).

Cleaning and care

The product should only be cleaned on the outside with a soft dry cloth.
If the wall clock is not going to be used, remove the battery.

Note: When the battery voltage is depleted after about 9 months (depending on reception quality), the second hand will stop moving. However, the hour and minute will keep on showing the right time until the battery voltage is too low, after which the clock will stop completely.

It is advised to change a new battery as soon as this occurs.
