How to switch between autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF)?

Turn the focus ring (1) in the direction of the arrow. Position A = AF/MF (MF available through camera settings), position B = MF only. See Fig. 1 in the manual.

Can I use filters with the lens hood?

Yes, the hood is bayonet-mounted and does not prevent the use of 72 mm filters. Avoid stacking multiple thick filters to avoid vignetting.

Is the lens hood reversible for storage?

Yes, to store it, slightly turn the hood ring (3), then slide it back. To use it, slide it forward until it clicks.

Is this lens compatible with Micro Four Thirds cameras?

Yes, it is specifically designed for the Micro Four Thirds mount. It is suitable for all Olympus and Panasonic bodies in this system.

What is the filter diameter and what type of filter can I use?

The filter diameter is 72 mm. You can use UV, polarizing, ND filters, etc. Avoid stacking multiple filters.

How to clean the lens?

Use a blower to remove dust, then a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth for smudges. Avoid harsh chemicals.

Is the lens weather-sealed?

Yes, it has sealed joints to resist water splashes and dust. However, do not immerse it.

Can I use this lens with a teleconverter?

Yes, it is compatible with Olympus teleconverters (EC-14 and EC-20) to increase focal length while retaining autofocus.

What does the L-Fn button on the lens do?

The L-Fn (Lens Function) button momentarily stops autofocus when pressed. It can be programmed in the camera for other functions.

What safety precautions should be taken?

Never look at the sun through the lens. Do not leave the lens uncapped in the sun (fire risk). Do not point the camera at the sun.

Switching the focusing method (Fig. 1)

Slide the focus ring (①) in the direction of the arrow to switch the focusing method.

A:AF/MF
MF is possible in the camera settings.
B:MF
AF does not work if the focus ring position is set MF position (B).

Autofocus stops while the L-Fn button (2) is pressed.

Storing the hood (Fig. 2)

When storing the hood, turn the ring (3) of the hood a little, then slide to rear.

When shooting, slide to front until it clicks.

Notes on Shooting

• Edges of pictures may be cut off if more than one filter is used or if a thick filter is used.
• When using a flash, flash light may be blocked by the lens body, lens hood, etc.
• The focus distance may change when the focusing method is switched from MF to AF/MF and then back to MF. Readjust the focus distance.
• The distance indicator is intended as a guide only.
