- Never remove the water container from the base (or replace it) while the appliance is switched on.

Danger of burns and scalding

  • The exterior surfaces become hot during use and will remain so for some time afterwards.
  • Do not leave the kettle unattended during operation. Use only pure water when filling the container to the desired level, observing the Min. (0.5 l) and Max. (1.5 l for tea or 1.7 l for water only)

markings. Overfi lling the container may cause danger if boiling water is forced out.

  • For boiling water only, always remove the tea filter.
  • Do not exceed to 70^ C when re-heating tea.

Caution: Do not bring to a boil, as the liquid may foam over.

Also beware of the danger of scalding from hot steam being emitted. Therefore, do not touch any parts of the appliance except the handle during use.
During the boiling process and when pouring out hot water, the lid must be kept closed at all times.
- Caution: To prevent the glass from cracking, do not fill the hot container with cold water.

Clean the appliance thoroughly before using it for the first time, and also after each cycle of use.
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- The appliance must be descaled at regular intervals. Clean the water container as necessary with a damp cloth.
- Detailed information on cleaning the appliance can be found in the section Cleaning and care.

Always place the unit on a dry, level, non-slip and heat-resistant surface, which is impervious to contact with the rubber feet.
- Do not operate the appliance below a hanging cupboard or similar object; there is a risk that escaping steam may be trapped underneath.
Do not let the power cord hang free.
- Do not kink or pinch the power cord. Keep both the cord and the appliance itself well away from heat sources (eg hot-plates, gas fl ames)
