Instructions for use (9-12)
Congratulations on choosing the evaporator evaporator BONECO E2641!
General information
Did you know that dry room air:
- Dries out the mucous membranes, and also causes chapped lips and stinging eyes?
Encourages infections and illnesses of the respiratory system?
Causes weariness, tiredness and poor concentration? Stresses household pets and house plants?
- Encourages the formation of dust and the electrostatic charging of textiles made of synthetic fibers, as well as carpets and plastic flooring?
- Damages wooden furniture and especially parquet floors?
- Causes musical instruments to go out of tune?
A comfortable indoor atmosphere is achieved at a relative humidity of between 40 and 60% . Air humidification is especially sensible in winter, but does not replace the regular airing of living spaces.

Description of the appliance Choosing a location

Front

Back

Before you position the device, please consider the following points:
- Never position the device directly beneath a power socket.
- Ensure that the device is stable and that no one can trip over the power cable.
- Do not position the device on surfaces sensitive to water.
- Do not cover the device and ensure that it is not in close proximity to furniture, walls or curtains.
- Ensure that it is not possible for children to play with the device.
Filling up the water
- Pour untreated tap water into the rear, left-hand opening in the water container (2). There is a water level indicator in the opening. Do not fill past the maximum limit (max. 3.5 litres).
- Do not add scents etc. to the water.

Never pour water into the air intake or air exhaust at the top (danger of causing a short circuit) (3).
Start-up
- Insert plug into mains socket (230 V).
- Use the On/Off switch to turn the device on (the red LED is then illuminated).
After use
- Use the On/Off switch to turn the device off.
- Remove the plug from the mains.
- Pour out any remaining water and rinse the water container.

Cleaning
You must clean the device regularly to ensure that it operates smoothly and hygienically. It should be cleaned and maintained at regular intervals:
- Weekly: clean housing components.
- Every 2 to 3 months: change filter cartridge.
- Annually: clean device after heating season.
The humidifier can be opened for cleaning with a minimum of effort and without the aid of tools:
- Turn off the device and remove the plug from the mains.
- Lift the upper part of the housing with the power cable to remove it. Never immerse this in water.
- Remove the filter cartridge. Deposits in the air and water build up and contaminate the filter evaporator cartridge while the device is in operation. The white deposits are caused by limescale and not mould. It is therefore recommended to replace them approximately every 2 to 3 months.
Replace the filter cartridge sooner if:
It emits odour.
- It is heavily contaminated or there is a lot of limescale build-up (if your water is particularly hard for example).
- Humidification performance is clearly impaired (if your water is particularly hard for example).
- Remove residues from the base of the housing and clean it. You can use a timescale remover such as CalcOff to remove timescale and mineral deposits.
Once or twice a year, use a damp cloth to wipe clean the bottom of the ventilator unit.

Warning
Always clean the humidifier if it has not been used for more than a week.
- Switch the device off and remove the plug from the mains before carrying out maintenance and after each use.
- Never immerse the device in water (ignoring this advice may lead to a short circuit). Use only a damp cloth to clean it, and dry it thoroughly afterwards. Always remove the plug from the mains beforehand.
- Ensure that there is no heavy build-up of dust around the air intake and air exhaust grilles (fire hazard) and clean them occasionally with a dry brush or vacuum cleaner.
Notes on how a humidifier works
The drier the air in a room is, the more moisture is emitted by the device. The self-regulating principle between the air in a room and the humidifier prevents excessive humidity. As such, the relative humidity varies between approx. 45 and 60% .
- If extra humidity is required for larger rooms, the humidifier can be placed close to a radiator (do not exceed 50^ ).
- It is recommended to use a humidistat to monitor humidity.
- Humidity is heavily restricted by circulating air (for example, in rooms with poorly sealed/open windows or in elevated rooms).
- Please note that humidity increases as air temperature rises and this can cause unwanted condensation in some areas.
Recommended values for humidity in living space
| Room temperature | Relative Humidity |
| 18 °C | 50 % |
| 20 °C | 45 % |
| 22 °C | 40 % |
Storing the appliance for extended periods
Clean the appliance as described earlier and allow to dry thoroughly. Preferably store the appliance in its original box, in a dry place away from high temperatures.
