The device must not be operated close to flammable liquids or materials, or in a potentially explosive environment. Keep at a distance of at least 30~cm from walls. In order to prevent overheating of the device or a potential fire, the device must not be covered. The grill plates must under no circumstances be covered with aluminium foil, aluminium containers or heat-resistant materials.

DANGER for birds

Birds breathe faster, distribute the air differently in their bodies and are significantly smaller than humans. For this reason, it may be dangerous for birds to inhale even the smallest smoke quantities, which develop while this device is running. When using this device, birds should be relocated into a different room.

WARNING! Risk of material damage

Ensure that the device is switched off before you plug it into a wall socket.
Only use the original accessories.
Do not use kitchen utensils made of metal to lift grilled food from the grill plate. Use e.g. a wooden spatula.

Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
The device is fitted with non-slip plastic feet. As furniture is coated with a wide array of varnishes and synthetics, and is also treated with different care products, it cannot be fully ruled out that some of these materials contain ingredients that could attack and soften the non-slip plastic feet. If necessary, place a non-slip mat under the device.
- Only use implements made from wood or heat-resistant plastic. Metal implements may damage the coated surface of the grill plate and the raclette pans.
Do not leave empty raclette pans on the plates while the appliance is heating up or during use. Overheating may result in damage to the non-stick coating.

The metal surfaces become very hot during operation. Only touch the handles and control elements of the device during operation.

6.1 Preparing the appliance, switching on and off

  1. Select a location that is firm, level and not flammable. Maintain a distance of approx. 30~cm from other objects.
  2. Turn the temperature regulator 4 to "0". This switches the heater off.
  3. Grease the raclette pans 9 lightly on the inside. Lightly grease the top surface of the grill plate 1.

Note: Use kitchen paper dipped in a little cooking oil.

  1. Place the grill plate 1 on the holders of the base section 8. Ensure that the grill plate 1 is correctly positioned on the holders.
  2. Insert the mains plug 2 into an easily accessible earthed wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate.

The red indicator light 6 comes on.

  1. Turn the temperature regulator 4 clockwise to MAX.

The temperature indicator light 5 lights up, and the appliance starts to heat up. Allow the appliance heat up for around 10 minutes.

The appliance is now ready to use.

  1. To turn the heater off, turn the temperature regulator 4 one notch anticlockwise towards "0".

  2. Remove the plug 2 from the mains socket after use. This is the only way to ensure that the machine is completely free of current.

6.2 Regulating temperature

The best cooking temperature depends chiefly on the type of food being cooked.

NOTES:

  • During operation, the temperature indicator light 5 (and thus the heater) will continually switch on and off. This serves to maintain as constant a temperature as possible.
  • In the higher temperature range, the heater will switch to continuously on, with temperature indicator light 5 also remaining permanently on.

  • If the temperature is too high, turn the temperature regulator 4 one notch towards "0".

  • If the temperature is too low and it is taking too long to cook, turn the temperature regulator 4 one notch towards MAX.

6.3 Preparing the raclette

  1. Fill the raclette pans 9 with your chosen ingredients.

SILVERCREST SRGL 1200 A1 - Preparing the raclette - 1

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

  • Only use the plastic spatulas 10 included in the items supplied and under no circumstances cutlery made of metal.

  • Put the raclette pans 9 on the grill in the recesses 7.

  • Remove the raclette pans 9 from the appliance as soon as the ingredients are cooked.
  • Slide the contents of the raclette pan 9 onto a plate using the plastic spatula 10 and enjoy.

NOTES:

  • As the raclette pans 9 have an anti-stick coating, they do not require oiling before each use.
If the coating of the raclette pans 9 has been damaged as a result of improper use, this is not a reason for complaint.

6.4 Grilling with the grill pan

The grill plate 1 is for grilling meat, sausages, fruit and vegetables.

7.1 Cleaning the base section

  1. Clean the base section 8 with a damp cloth. A little washing-up liquid may also be used.
  2. Wipe off with fresh water.
