The raclette grill is suitable for grilling and cooking food. Only use the raclette grill indoors, never use outside. The appliance must not be used for thawing, warming or drying items. The device is designed for use in private households. The device must only be used in- doors. This device must not be used for commercial purposes. Foreseeable misuse WARNING! Risk of material dam- age! ~ The device is not designed for operation outdoors. The food-safe material of devic- es with this symbol will not change the taste or smell of food.4
Warnings If necessary, the following warnings will be used in these operating instructions: DANGER! High risk: failure to ob- serve this warning may result in inju- ry to life and limb. WARNING! Moderate risk: failure to ob- serve this warning may result in injury or se- rious material damage. CAUTION: low risk: failure to observe this warning may result in minor injury or mate- rial damage. NOTE: circumstances and specifics that must be observed when handling the de- vice. Instructions for safe operation ~ This device can be used by children from the age of 8 and peo- ple with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or people without adequate experience and/or understanding, if they are supervised or instructed on how to use this device safely and if they are aware of the resulting risks. ~ Children must not play with the device. ~ Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by unsu- pervised children unless they are older than 8 years and super- vised. ~ Children under the age of 8 must be kept away from the device and the power cable. ~ This device is not intended to be operated using an external timer clock or a separate remote control system. ~ If the power cable of this device should become damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's custom- er service department or a similarly qualified specialist, in order to avoid any hazards. ~ Charcoal and similar fuels must not be used in this device. ~ The heating spirals must not be wiped with a damp cloth. ~ To ensure you can intervene promptly if a fault occurs, never leave the appliance unsupervised during operation. ~ Clean the device prior to its first use (see “Cleaning” on page 8).5
DANGER for children ~ Packing materials are not children's toys. Children should not be allowed to play with the plastic bags: There is a risk of suffocation. ~ Please ensure that children are not able to pull the device down from the work surface with the power cable. ~ Keep the device out of the reach of chil- dren. DANGER to and from pets and livestock ~ Electrical devices can represent a haz- ard to pets and livestock. In addition, animals can also cause damage to the device. For this reason you should keep animals away from electrical devices at all times. DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture ~ The device, the power cable and the mains plug must not be immersed in wa- ter or any other liquids. ~ Protect the device from moisture, water drops and water spray. ~ If liquid gets into the device, remove the mains plug immediately. Have the de- vice checked before reusing. ~ Never touch the device with wet hands. ~ If the device falls into water, disconnect the mains plug immediately. Only then is it safe to retrieve the device. DANGER! Risk of electric shock ~ Only plug the mains plug into the wall socket after the device has been com- pletely assembled. ~ The appliance must be connected up to a mains socket with earthing contact. ~ Do not touch the grill, the mains cable or the mains plug with wet hands. ~ Only connect the mains plug to a prop- erly installed and easily accessible wall socket whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must continue to be eas- ily accessible after the device is plugged in. ~ Ensure that the power cable cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot points. Do not wrap the power cable around the device. ~ The device is not fully disconnected from the power supply, even after it is switched off. In order to fully disconnect it, pull out the mains plug. ~ When using the device, ensure that the power cable cannot be trapped or crushed. ~ When removing the mains plug, always pull the plug and never the cable. ~ Disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket… … if there is a fault, … when you are not using the device, … before you clean the device, and … during thunderstorms. ~ To avoid any risk, do not make modifi- cations to the device. ~ Do not use the device if there is visible damage to the device or the power cable. DANGER! Risk of fire ~ The appliance may only be used on a firm, level, dry and non-flammable sur- face. This will prevent it from tipping over, sliding or setting fire to the surface and causing damage. ~ The device must not be operated close to flammable liquids or materials, or in a potentially explosive environment. Keep at a distance of at least 30 cm from walls. In order to prevent overheat- ing of the device or a potential fire, the device must not be covered. The grill plates must under no circumstances be covered with aluminium foil, aluminium containers or heat-resistant materials.6
~ The power cable must not touch the met- al surfaces during operation. DANGER! Risk of injury through burning ~ The metal surfaces become very hot dur- ing operation. Only touch the handles and control elements of the device dur- ing operation. ~ The device remains very hot after it is switched off, and must not be touched. ~ Only transport the device when it has cooled down, and when doing so only use the handles intended. ~ Use oven gloves when cooking food at high temperature. Otherwise, splashed fat could cause burns. ~ Do not use the appliance without the grill plate. Otherwise, the heating ele- ments will be exposed posing a risk of severe burns if touched. ~ If fat on the appliance catches fire do not use water to extinguish the fire! There is a risk of explosion or elec- tric shock. Instead, use a fire blanket or other appropriate method. DANGER for birds ~ Birds breathe faster, distribute the air differently in their bodies and are signif- icantly smaller than humans. For this reason, it may be dangerous for birds to inhale even the smallest smoke quanti- ties, which develop while this device is running. When using this device, birds should be relocated into a different room. WARNING! Risk of material damage ~ Ensure that the device is switched off be- fore you plug it into a wall socket. ~ Only use the original accessories. ~ Do not use kitchen utensils made of met- al to lift grilled food from the grill plate. Use e.g. a wooden spatula. ~ Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents. ~ The device is fitted with non-slip plastic feet. As furniture is coated with a wide array of varnishes and synthetics, and is also treated with different care products, it cannot be fully ruled out that some of these materials contain ingredients that could attack and soften the non-slip plastic feet. If necessary, place a non- slip mat under the device. ~ Only use implements made from wood or heat-resistant plastic. Metal imple- ments may damage the coated surface of the grill plate and the raclette pans. ~ Do not leave empty raclette pans on the plates while the appliance is heating up or during use. Overheating may result in damage to the non-stick coating. ~ Do not place any items on the appli- ance.
DANGER! Risk of fire! ~ Place the device on a dry, level, non-slip and heat-resistant surface. ~ The device must not be operated close to flammable liquids or materials, or in a potentially explosive environment. Keep at a distance of at least 30 cm from walls. NOTE: when in operation for the first time, some smoke and odour may be generated by the device. This is related to materials used on the heating elements during assem- bly, and is not a defect with the product. En- sure adequate ventilation.
- Remove all packing material.
- Check to ensure that all parts are pres- ent and undamaged.
- Clean the device prior to its first use (see “Cleaning” on page 8)!
1. Remove any labels or stickers (but not
the type plate on the underside).
2. Turn the temperature regulator|4 to “0”.
This switches the heater off.
3. Insert the mains plug|2 into an easily
accessible earthed wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate. The red indicator light|6 comes on.
4. Turn the temperature regulator|4 to
MAX. The temperature indicator light|5 lights up, and the appliance starts to heat up. Leave the appliance switched on for around 10 - 15 minutes.
5. Switch the heater off by turning the tem-
perature regulator|4 to “0”.
6. Take out the mains plug|2 and allow the
appliance to cool down.
7. Clean the appliance again (see “Clean-

6.1 Preparing the appliance,
switching on and off
1. Select a location that is firm, level and
not flammable. Maintain a distance of approx. 30 cm from other objects.
2. Turn the temperature regulator|4 to “0”.
This switches the heater off.
3. Grease the raclette pans|9 lightly on the
inside. Lightly grease the top surface of the grill plate|1. Note: Use kitchen paper dipped in a little cooking oil.
4. Place the grill plate|1 on the holders of
the base section|8. Ensure that the grill plate|1 is correctly positioned on the holders.
5. Insert the mains plug|2 into an easily
accessible earthed wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate. The red indicator light|6 comes on.
6. Turn the temperature regulator|4 clock-
wise to MAX. The temperature indicator light|5 lights up, and the appliance starts to heat up. Allow the appliance heat up for around 10 minutes. The appliance is now ready to use.
7. To turn the heater off, turn the tempera-
ture regulator|4 one notch anticlockwise towards “0”.8
8. Remove the plug|2 from the mains sock-
et after use. This is the only way to en- sure that the machine is completely free of current.
6.2 Regulating temperature
The best cooking temperature depends chiefly on the type of food being cooked. NOTES:
- During operation, the temperature indi- cator light|5 (and thus the heater) will continually switch on and off. This serves to maintain as constant a temper- ature as possible.
- In the higher temperature range, the heater will switch to continuously on, with temperature indicator light|5 also remaining permanently on.
1. If the temperature is too high, turn the
temperature regulator|4 one notch to- wards “0”.
2. If the temperature is too low and it is
taking too long to cook, turn the temper- ature regulator|4 one notch towards MAX.
6.3 Preparing the raclette
1. Fill the raclette pans|9 with your chosen
ingredients. DANGER! Risk of injury through burning! ~ Do not overfill the pans|9, otherwise the ingredients could be too thick and could burn. WARNING! Risk of material damage! ~ Only use the plastic spatulas|10 includ- ed in the items supplied and under no circumstances cutlery made of metal.

4. Slide the contents of the raclette pan|9
onto a plate using the plastic spatu- la|10 and enjoy. NOTES:
- As the raclette pans|9 have an anti-stick coating, they do not require oiling be- fore each use.
- If the coating of the raclette pans|9 has been damaged as a result of improper use, this is not a reason for complaint.
6.4 Grilling with the grill pan
The grill plate|1 is for grilling meat, sausag- es, fruit and vegetables.
DANGER! To avoid the danger of an electric shock or damage:
from the mains socket before starting to clean the appliance. ~ Never immerse the appliance in water, and protect it from splashes and water droplets. ~ Before cleaning, allow the appliance to cool down to avoid the risk of burns. CAUTION: ~ Never use abrasive, corrosive or caustic cleaning materials. This may damage the appliance and the coated surface of the grill plate|1 and raclette pans|9. NOTE: Don’t wait too long to wash after cooling so that the food remains don’t dry on and become difficult to remove.9
7.1 Cleaning the base section
1. Clean the base section|8 with a damp
cloth. A little washing-up liquid may also be used.
2. Wipe off with fresh water.
3. Do not use the machine again until it is

3. If heavily soiled, leave parts to soak in

Any form of use and handling that is advised against in the operating instructions or warned against must always be avoided. The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incor- rect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our author- ised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.
