NOTE: you may notice an odour when using for the first time. This is a result of the manufacturing process and is not a defect with the device. Ensure adequate ventilation.

- Clean the appliance before using it for the first time (see "Cleaning" on page 8)!

  1. Unwind the mains cable 6 completely.
  2. Place the baking plate 1 on the bottom section 2.
  3. Insert the power supply plug into a suitable mains socket. The red indicator 3 comes on to show that the appliance is connected to the power supply.
  4. Turn the temperature control to "MAX". As soon as operating temperature has been reached, the green indicator 5 comes on. During operation, the green indicator 5 (and thus the

heater) will continually turn on and off. This serves to maintain as constant a temperature as possible.

  1. Leave the appliance switched on for around 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the power supply plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
  3. Clean the appliance again.

6. Making crêpes

FIRE HAZARD! Before turning the device on, place it on a level, stable, dry, heat-resistant surface.

DANGER! Risk of injury through burning! The appliance's baking plate 1 gets very hot during operation. Only touch the control elements of the device during operation.

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

Hard, pointed objects (such as metal spoons) can damage the non-stick coating of the baking plate 1. Only use the included kitchen utensils, or utensils made of wood or heat-resistant plastic.

  1. Unwind the mains cable 6 completely.
  2. Place the baking plate 1 on the bottom section 2.
  3. Wipe off any dust with a dry cloth.
  4. Insert the power supply plug into a suitable mains socket. The red indicator 3 comes on to show that the appliance is connected to the power supply.
  5. Turn the temperature control 4 to the desired setting. As soon as operating temperature has been reached, the green indicator 5 comes on.

NOTE: you can control the browning of the crêpes by altering the temperature and cooking time. We recommend setting the temperature control 4 to between "2" and "MAX".

During operation, the green indicator 5 (and thus the heater) will continually turn on and off. This serves to maintain as constant a temperature as possible.

  1. Apply a little crêpe batter to the baking plate 1.

CAUTION: Take care to ensure that the batter does not flow over the edge of the baking plate.

NOTE: Using a ladle, apply enough batter to cover 2/3 of the baking plate 1. If you want thinner or thicker crêpes, pour a little less or more batter onto the baking plate 1.

  1. Dip the batter spreader 8 in water.

NOTE: before making each new crêpe, dip the batter spreader 8 in water. This makes it easier to spread the batter without it sticking to the spreader 8.

  1. Using the spreader 8, spread the batter evenly over the baking plate 1. To do this, place the spreader on the surface of the batter without applying pressure and, using a circular motion, spread the batter outwards so that it evenly covers the baking plate 1.
  2. After 30 to 60 seconds (depending on the temperature and how brown you want the crêpe to be), flip the crêpe using the crêpe flipper 7.
  3. After another 30 to 60 seconds, lift the finished crêpe off the baking plate 1 using the crêpe flipper 7.
  4. Place the crêpe on a plate and add the topping of your choice.

CAUTION:

- Never add toppings to the crêpe while it is still on the baking plate 1. Always wait until it has been removed from the

baking plate 1, otherwise your topping may leak into the appliance.

- Never cut the crêpe while it is still on the baking plate, as this may damage the non-stick coating.

- Never use sharp or metallic objects to turn the crêpe or lift it off the baking plate, as this could damage the non-stick coating.

  1. Remove the power supply plug from the mains socket after use. This is the only way to ensure that the appliance is completely de-energized.

NOTE: the first crêpes you make should be thrown away, not eaten, as they will not taste right.

7. Cleaning

- Clean the device after each use and remove all food residues.

  1. Wipe the bottom section 2 with a soft, damp cloth. You can also use a little mild detergent, but if doing so, take care to wipe the appliance again afterwards with clean water to avoid any aftertaste affecting the flavour of the crêpes.

  2. Wipe dry with a dry cloth.

  3. Clean baking plate 1, batter spreader 8 and crêpe spatula 7 in the dishwasher or the sink using gentle dishwater.

  4. Do not use the appliance again until all components have completely dried.

8. Storage

  • Clean the device before putting it away and allow all parts to dry completely.
    • Figure A: to store the appliance, wind up the mains cable 6 on the reel 9 on the bottom.
  • Store the device in a dry place.

9. Recipe suggestions for crêpes

9.1 Basic recipe

Ingredients for about 12 crêpes:

  • 6 eggs
    • 1 | milk
  • 500 g flour
    • 3 tbsp. cooking oil

Preparation:

  1. Beat the milk and eggs together in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add the flour.
  3. Gradually add the oil.
  4. Mix the batter until smooth.
  5. Leave the batter to stand for about 1 hour before making the crêpes.

Tip: Add the toppings of your choice to the crêpes, e.g. sugar, cinnamon, apple sauce, cheese, ham, chocolate cream, Amaretto, eggnog, hot cherries etc.

9.2 Crêpes „Vatel“

Ingredients:

  • 250 g flour, sieved
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 eggs
    • 3 egg yolks
    • 200 ml thick cream (crème fraiche)
  • 100 g melted butter
    • 1/2 l boiled milk
    • Maraschino (cherry liqueur, for flavour)
  • Icing sugar

Preparation:

  1. Pour the flour, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually stir in the eggs and yolks until the batter is mixed evenly.
  3. Add the cream, melted butter and milk little by little, and stir to make a smooth, quite liquid batter.
  4. Leave the batter to stand for 2 hours.
  5. Mix in the maraschino to taste.
  6. Use the mixture to make very thin crêpes.
  7. Fold the crêpes and dust with icing sugar.
  8. Serve immediately.

Tip: Before serving, flash the dusted crêpes under the grill or place them briefly in a very hot oven, so the icing sugar glazes.

9.3 Crêpes Suzette

Ingredients:

  • 60 g flour, sieved
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 small eggs
    • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 100 ml milk

Ingredients for sauce Suzette:

• 2 untreated oranges
- 4 sugar cubes
- 50 g butter
- 60 g sugar
- 1 lemon
- 6 cl orange liqueur

Preparing the crêpes:

  1. Pour the flour, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually stir in the eggs and yolks until the batter is smooth.
  3. Add the milk and oil little by little, and stir to make a smooth, liquid batter.
  4. Leave the batter to stand for 2 hours.
  5. Cook the crêpes, then stack and leave to cool.

Preparing the sauce:

  1. Wash and dry one orange, then rub the sugar cubes on the orange rind.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan over a low heat.
  3. Crumble the sugar cubes and add to the butter, together with the rest of the sugar.
  4. Allow the sugar to melt.
  5. Squeeze out the oranges and lemons, and slowly stir the juice into the butter.
  6. Allow the sauce to reduce a little.
  7. Take the crêpes one at a time, turn them in the hot sauce, fold together and then stack on a plate.

  8. Once you have turned and folded all the crêpes, spread them out evenly in the pan and warm them through again.

  9. Heat up the orange liqueur, scoop into a ladle and set on fire.
  10. Pour the flaming orange liqueur over the crêpes in the pan.
  11. Flambé the crêpes until the fire burns out.
  12. Arrange on a plate, drizzle a little more sauce over the crêpes and serve.

Tip:

  • Mandarin liqueur can be used instead of orange liqueur. You can then garnish the crêpes with drained, tinned mandarin segments.
  • Crêpes Suzette also taste great with vanilla ice cream.

9.4 Light crêpes (Crêpes lègères)

Ingredients:

  • 250 g flour, sieved
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 100 ml boiled milk
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 500 ml whipping cream
  • Icing sugar

Preparation:

  1. Pour the flour, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl.
  2. Separate the yolks of the eggs from the whites.
  3. Mix together the egg yolk, lukewarm milk and baking powder.
  4. Slowly add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and stir to create a smooth batter.
  5. Allow the batter to stand for around 2 hours in a warm place.

  6. Beat egg whites until very stiff.

  7. Beat whipping cream until stiff.
  8. Carefully fold the egg white and whipped cream into the batter.
  9. Allow to stand for another 10 minutes.
  10. Cook the crêpes, taking care to ensure they are not too thin.
  11. Dust the crêpes well with icing sugar.
  12. Serve fresh and warm.

Tip: Before serving, flash the dusted crêpes under the grill or place them briefly in a very hot oven, so the icing sugar glazes.

your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.

If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our discretion – free of charge to you.
