English - 31 Congratulations! By purchasing the SilverCrest SADD 12 A1 Aroma Diffuser, hereinafter referred to as the aroma diffuser, you have opted for a quality product. Before first using it, familiarise yourself with the way the aroma diffuser works and read these operating instructions through carefully. Be careful to follow the safety instructions and only use the aroma diffuser as described in the operating instructions and for the applications given. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place. If you sell or pass this aroma diffuser on to another person, it is imperative that you also hand over this manual. It is an integral part of the product.

This aroma diffuser refreshes and humidifies the air in enclosed rooms. The aroma diffuser is not intended to be used as a light. It has not been designed for corporate or commercial applications. Use the aroma diffuser for private purposes only. Any use other than that mentioned above does not correspond to the intended use. This aroma diffuser fulfils all the standards and directives listed in the EU Declaration of Conformity. Any modifications to the aroma diffuser which are not approved by the manufacturer, improper repairs or use of non-authorised replacement parts may result in these directives no longer being met. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage or malfunctions resulting from such modifications. Observe the regulations and laws in the country of use.
Remove the aroma diffuser and all its accessories from the packaging. Remove all packaging material and check that all parts are complete and undamaged. - Please note that the high humidity can encourage the growth of biological organisms nearby.
- Do not allow the area around the aroma diffuser to get too damp or wet. If the area gets too damp, reduce the output level. If the output is already on its lowest setting, do not use the aroma diffuser as often. Do not allow absorbent materials such as carpets, curtains or tablecloths to get damp.

- Do not leave water in the water reservoir (4) when the aroma diffuser is not in use.
- Drain and clean the aroma diffuser before storing it. Clean the aroma diffuser before you use it again.
- WARNING: Micro-organisms which could be present in the water or the environment where the aroma diffuser is used or stored can grow in the water reservoir and be emitted into the air, which can lead to serious health risks if the water is not replaced and the reservoir properly cleaned every 3 days.
- Drain and refill the water reservoir (4) every 3 days. Before filling, clean the water reservoir (4)SilverCrest SADD 12 A1
with clean water or any detergents recommended by the manufacturer. Remove any sediment, deposits or layers of dirt from the surface of the water reservoir (4) or internal surfaces. Wipe all surfaces dry.
- Always place the aroma diffuser on a stable surface so that it does not tip over!
- Any repairs to the aroma diffuser or the mains power adapter (5) must be carried out by the manufacturer’s customer services department or an authorised professional to eliminate any risks to the user. Any improper repair attempts will invalidate the warranty.SilverCrest SADD 12 A1 English - 43
- Never expose the aroma diffuser to rain. Protect the device from moisture and make sure that no liquids or objects are allowed to penetrate the device. Never immerse the device in water and do not place objects containing liquids (e.g. vases) on the aroma diffuser. This could cause irreparable damage.
- Only use the device with the recommended substances to be evaporated. Using other substances could cause poisoning or fire hazards. The substances used must comply with national health regulations.SilverCrest SADD 12 A1
- Do not use the aroma diffuser near naked flames such as candles. This could cause irreparable damage.
- Avoid direct sunlight. This could cause irreparable damage to the aroma diffuser.
- Please note that some furniture care products may contain substances that can damage the rubber feet of the aroma diffuser.

- The power cable on this device cannot be replaced. If the cable gets damaged, the device must be scrapped. Note on mains disconnection The mains power adapter consumes (5) electricity even in standby mode and must be removed from the power socket completely in order to disconnect it from the mains.

8.1 Suitable essential oils
CAUTION! Under some circumstances, drops of oil can damage the surface of furniture. If necessary, place a coaster under the aroma diffuser.
- Use only scented oils and/or other essential oils (not provided).
- Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions on scented oils and/or essential oils.
Connect to the mains by plugging the mains power adapter (5) into a mains socket which complies with the power adapter specifications. Then insert the connector on the cable into the plug socket (7) on the diffuser casing (1).
CAUTION! If the device is faulty or used incorrectly (too much liquid added), liquid can leak out of the bottom of the device. CAUTION! If there is no liquid in the water reservoir (4), the diffuser cannot be switched on using the button (8). Instead, the aroma diffuser flashes three times. However, the light effects can be adjusted using the button (6). The individual parts of the aroma diffuser [diffuser casing (1), glass cylinder (2), water reservoir (4) and lid (3)] can easily be dismantled and put back together again without tools. This makes it easy to fill and to clean. The procedure for filling is as follows:SilverCrest SADD 12 A1 English - 47
- Lift the glass cylinder (2) up out of the diffuser casing (1).
- Then lift out the water reservoir (4) and the lid (3).
- Remove the lid (3) from the water reservoir (4). To do this, hold the lid (3) by the edge and not by the “flame”, as it is very delicate and could break off.
- Put a few drops of scented or essential oil into the water reservoir (4) in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Fill the water reservoir (4) with water. To enable the device to work correctly, at least the bottom of the water reservoir (4) must be completely covered with water. The maximum water level is shown by the arrow marker inside the water reservoir (4). The water must not be higher than the top edge of the level shown by the marker.
- Then place the water reservoir (4) into the diffuser casing (1) without the lid (3). The round guide on the base of the diffuser casing (1) must engage into the matching recess on the base of the water reservoir (4). Adjust the water reservoir by twisting it gently to the left/right to ensure the water reservoir (4) sits flat on the base of the diffuser casing (1). This ensures the aroma diffuser will work perfectly.SilverCrest SADD 12 A1
- Place the lid (3) back on the water reservoir (4), holding the lid (3) by the edge.
- Now place the glass cylinder (2) back into the diffuser casing (1). The aroma diffuser is now ready for you to use the diffuser function.
9.1 Switching between modes
You can use the buttons (6, 8) to select different mode combinations. The functions of the buttons (6, 8) are listed below: Button 8 (diffuser function) 1st press Diffuser “on” 2nd press* Diffuser switches between ‘on’ and ‘off’ every 15 seconds. 3rd press* Diffuser “off” *: In interval mode, the fan runs continuously. After the diffuser function is switched off, the fan runs on for a few seconds to cool the electronics in the device. Button 6 (light effects) 1st press Light “on” (100%) 2nd press Light “on” (50%) 3rd press Light “on” - flickering 4th press Light “off”SilverCrest SADD 12 A1 English - 49 Example: If you want to use the diffuser function and the flickering light, press button (8) once and button (6) three times. CAUTION! If there is no liquid left in the water reservoir (4), the aroma diffuser flashes three times. The diffuser function and any light effects selected are switched off automatically. CAUTION! The aroma diffuser has a safety shut-off which automatically switches it off after the following times:
- Normal mode: Switches off after approx. 7 hours.
- Intermittent mode: Switches off after approx. 14 hours.
9.2 Storage when not in use
If you do not plan to use the aroma diffuser for some time, empty the water reservoir (4) and clean the aroma diffuser as described in the chapter on “Cleaning”. Store the aroma diffuser in a clean, cool, dry place.SilverCrest SADD 12 A1
WARNING! Disconnect the aroma diffuser from the power supply before cleaning for safety reasons. To clean the diffuser casing (1), use a clean, soft cloth, which you can moisten slightly if necessary. Never use solvents or aggressive detergents. Make sure that no liquid gets into the housing. The water reservoir (4) must be cleaned after every use to remove oil residues as much as possible. Use a slightly damp, soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, add a few drops of mild detergent to the damp cloth. Then, remove any residues of the detergent used. If a reduced amount of mist is produced, clean the ceramic disc in the middle of the base of the water reservoir (4) using a slightly damp cotton bud.SilverCrest SADD 12 A1 English - 51
- Check that the mains power adapter (5) is properly inserted into the mains socket and the connector on the power adapter cable is firmly inserted into the plug socket (7).
- Check that the mains socket used is live. Diffuser function not working/Aroma diffuser flashes 3 times/No mist produced
- Make sure that the water reservoir (4) is correctly inserted and positioned correctly on the base of the diffuser casing. If necessary, remove the water reservoir (4) again and reposition it.
- For the device to work properly, there must be a good contact between the contact surfaces on the base of the water reservoir (4) and the contact pins on the aroma diffuser underneath. If necessary, clean the contact pins and the contact surfaces with a dry cloth.
- Check that there is liquid in the water reservoir (4). Top up the water if necessary.SilverCrest SADD 12 A1
12. Environmental regulations and disposal information
The product bears the symbol of a rubbish bin crossed out. This means it is subject to European Directive 2012/19/EU. All electrical and electronic devices must be disposed of separately from household waste at official disposal centres. For further information, contact your local government, disposal bodies or the shop where you bought the device. Dispose of all packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Cardboard packaging can be taken to paper recycling centres or public collection points for recycling. Any film or plastic contained in the packaging should be taken to your public collection points for disposal.
Please note the markings on the packaging material when disposing of it, it is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b), the meanings of which are as follows: 1-7: plastic / 20–22: paper and cardboard / 80-98: composite materials. Warranty of TARGA GmbH This device is sold with three years warranty from the date of purchase. Please keep the original receipt in a safe place as proof of purchase. Before using your product for the first time, please read the enclosed documentation. Should any problems arise which cannot be solved in this way, please call our hotline. Please have the article number and, if available, the serial number to hand for all enquiries. If it is not possible to solve the problem on the phone, our hotline support staff will initiate further servicing procedures depending on the fault. Within the warranty period the product will be repaired or replaced free of charge as we deem appropriate. No new warranty period commences if the product is repaired or replaced. Consumables such as batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps are not covered by the warranty. Your statutory rights towards the seller are not affected or restricted by this warranty.
