Before first using it, familiarise yourself with the way the aroma diffuser works and read these operating instructions through carefully. Be careful to follow the safety instructions and only use the aroma diffuser as described in the operating instructions and for the applications given. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place. If you sell or pass this aroma diffuser on to another person, it is imperative that you also hand over this manual. It is an integral part of the product.

The SilverCrest trademark and the SilverCrest brand are the property of their respective owners. Other names and product can be trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners.

This aroma diffuser refreshes and humidifies the air in enclosed rooms. The aroma diffuser is not intended to be used as a light. It has not been designed for corporate or commercial applications. Use the aroma diffuser for private purposes only. Any use other than thatSilverCrest SADL 300 A1

mentioned above does not correspond to the intended use. This aroma diffuser fulfils all the standards and directives listed in the EU Declaration of Conformity. • No action needs to be taken by the user to set the product to 50 or 60 Hz. The product automatically adjusts to 50 or to 60 Hz.

• Check the aroma diffuser for visible damage before use. A damaged appliance must not be put into operation. Risk of injury!

• The aroma diffuser must only be used with the mains power adapter (11) supplied.

• Please note that the high humidity can encourage the growth of biological organisms nearby.

• Do not allow the area around the aroma diffuser to get too damp or wet. If the area gets too damp, reduce the output level. If the output is already on its lowest setting, do not use the aroma diffuser as often. Do not allow absorbent materials such as carpets, curtains or tablecloths to get damp.

• Disconnect the aroma diffuser from the mains before refilling and cleaning it.

• Do not leave water in the water reservoir when the aroma diffuser is not in use.SilverCrest SADL 300 A1

• Drain and clean the aroma diffuser before storing it. Clean the aroma diffuser before you use it again.

• WARNING: Micro-organisms which could be present in the water or the area where the aroma diffuser is used or stored can wash into the water reservoir and be emitted into the air, which can lead to serious health risks if the water is not replaced and the reservoir properly cleaned every 72 hours.

• Drain and refill the water reservoir every 72 hours. Before refilling, clean the water reservoir with clean water or any detergents recommended by the manufacturer. • Always place the aroma diffuser on a stable surface so that it does not tip over!

device. Never immerse the device in water and do not place objects containing liquids (e.g. vases) on the aroma diffuser. This could cause irreparable damage.

• Only use the device with the recommended substances to be evaporated. Using other substances could cause poisoning or fire hazards. The substances used must comply with national health regulations.

• Do not use the aroma diffuser near naked flames such as candles. This could cause irreparable damage.

• Never pull on the cable to remove the mains power adapter (11) from the mains outlet, always pull the mains power adapter (11) itself. Otherwise, it could get damaged.

• The power cable on this device cannot be replaced. If the cable gets damaged, the device must be scrapped.

• The device may only be operated with essential oils (scented oils).

• Only use essential oils that comply with the relevant safety standards. Using other substances could cause poisoning or fire hazards.

• Keep the essential oils out of the reach of children.

• Always store the essential oils in sealed containers. Always heed the warnings on the label of the essential oil you are using.

• The aroma diffuser light source cannot be replaced. Check the aroma diffuser and the accessories for damage. If the aroma diffuser is damaged, do not use it.

8.1 Suitable essential oils

CAUTION! Under some circumstances, drops of oil can damage the surface of furniture. If necessary, place a coaster under the aroma diffuser.

• Only use scented oils and/or essential oils.

• Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety advice on scented oils and/or essential oils.SilverCrest SADL 300 A1 English - 57

Connect to the mains by plugging the mains power adapter (11) into a mains socket which complies with the power adapter specifications. Then insert the connector on the cable into the power supply socket (5) on the diffuser base (3). When the power supply is established, an alarm sounds and the device flashes red. This is for safety reasons and indicates that the liquid in the aroma diffuser must be changed after 72 hours at the latest in order to prevent the build-up of bacteria. Press the button (8) for 3 seconds to confirm that the water container has been cleaned and there is fresh water in the reservoir. This switches off the alarm. After 72 hours, the alarm and the alarm light are reactivated to remind you to clean the water reservoir and change the liquid. CAUTION! If the device is faulty or used incorrectly (too much liquid added), liquid can leak out of the bottom of the device. CAUTION! If there is no liquid in the water reservoir, the diffuser cannot be switched on using the button (6). However, the light effects can be adjusted using the button (9). The parts of the aroma diffuser can be taken apart and put back together without tools. This makes it easy to fill and to clean. The procedure for filling is as follows:

• Use the measuring cup (10) provided to mix a specific quantity of water with the essential oil. Always check the mixing ratio on the label of the essential oil! Using too much can be damaging to your health or could cause damage to property. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions!

• Put the prepared mixture into the water reservoir. For the device to work correctly, at least the bottom of the water reservoir must be completely covered with water. The maximum water level is shown by the arrow marker inside the water reservoir. The water must not be higher than this marking.

• Replace the vapour chimney (2) and the light shield (1). The aroma diffuser is now ready for you to use the diffuser function.

9.1 Switching between modes

You can use the buttons (6, 7, 8, 9) to select different mode combinations. The functions of the buttons (6, 7, 8, 9) are described below: Button 6 (diffuser function) 1st press Diffuser “ON” 2nd press* Diffuser “OFF”

If you do not plan to use the aroma diffuser for some time, empty the water reservoir and clean the aroma diffuser as described in the chapter on “Cleaning”. Store the aroma diffuser in a clean, cool, dry place.SilverCrest SADL 300 A1

WARNING! Disconnect the aroma diffuser from the power supply before cleaning for safety reasons. For cleaning, use a clean, soft cloth, which you can moisten slightly if necessary. Never use solvents or aggressive detergents. Make sure that no liquid gets into the housing. The water reservoir must be cleaned after every use to remove oil residues as much as possible. Use a slightly damp, soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, add a few drops of mild detergent to the damp cloth. Then, remove any residues of the detergent used. If a reduced amount of mist is produced, clean the ceramic disc in the base of the water reservoir using a slightly damp cotton bud.

• Check that the mains power adapter (11) is properly inserted into the mains socket and the connector on the power adapter cable is firmly inserted into the power supply socket (5).

• Check that the mains socket used is live. Diffuser function not working / No mist produced
