Introduction Information about these operating instructions Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have thereby decided in favour of a high quality product. These operat- ing instructions are a component of the Aroma Diffuser (hereafter referred to as the appliance or product) and they provide you with important information about the intended use, safety, connection and operation of the appliance. These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the appliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate the appliance and to eliminate faults with it. Retain these operating instructions and pass them on, together with the appliance, to a possible future owner. Intended Use This appliance is intended only for domestic use and for the refresh- ing and humidification of air in enclosed spaces. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those mentioned here. Claims of any kind resulting from damage caused by improper use, incompetent repairs, unauthorized modifications or the use of non- approved spare parts will not be acknowledged. The operator alone bears liability.GB

 3 ■SAD 12 F5 Warnings used In these extant operating instructions the following warnings are used: WARNING A warning at this risk level indicates a possibly dangerous situation. If the dangerous situation is not avoided, it could lead to personal injury. ► Follow the instructions in this warning to avoid personal injuries. IMPORTANT A warning at this risk level signifies possible property damage. If the situation is not avoided it could lead to property damage. ► The directives in this warning are there to avoid property damage. NOTICE ► A notice signifies additional information that assists in the handling of the appliance.■ 4 

Safety In this chapter you will receive important safety information regard- ing the handling of the appliance. Incorrect usage can, however, lead to personal and property damage. Basic safety instructions For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:

Check the appliance for visible external dam- age before use. Do not use an appliance that has been damaged or dropped. ■ This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capa- bilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. Do not allow children to use the appliance as a toy. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.GB

 5 ■SAD 12 F5 ■ DANGER! Do not allow children to play with the packaging material! Keep all pack- aging materials away from children. There is a risk of suffocation! ■ Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations to the appliance. ■ Do not operate the appliance near heat sources, such as radiators or other heat- generating appliances. ■ Do not expose the appliance to direct sun- light or high temperatures. Otherwise, it could overheat and be irreparably damaged. ■ Keep the appliance away from open flames (e.g. candles) at all times. ■ Do not expose the appliance to water spray or dripping water, and do not place liquid- filled objects such as vases or open drink containers on or near the appliance. ■ Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids!■ 6 

■ Always set up the appliance on a stable and level surface. It can be damaged if dropped. ■ Switch the appliance off immediately and disconnect the mains adapter from the appli- ance if you smell fumes or notice any smoke. Have the appliance checked by a qualified specialist before using it again. ■ Use the mains adapter only in dry interior rooms. ■ Operate the appliance only with the supplied mains adapter and use the supplied power adapter only for this appliance. ■ Do not use the mains adapter if it has a damaged mains plug or cable. ■ The mains adapter and the welded connec- tion cable may not be repaired. In the event of a defect, the entire mains adapter must be replaced with another of identical design. ■ No user action is required to set the product to 50 or 60 Hz. The product switches auto- matically to 50 or 60 Hz as required.GB

 7 ■SAD 12 F5 ■ The mains power socket being used must be easily accessible at all times so that the mains adapter can be quickly removed from the mains power socket in the event of an emergency. ■ Always unplug the mains adapter before filling/emptying the water tank and before cleaning the appliance. ■ Note that high humidity can promote the growth of biological organisms in the envi- ronment. ■ Make sure that items in the vicinity of the appliance do not become damp or wet. If you notice damp formation, you need to reduce the output. If the output cannot be reduced, then you should only use the appli- ance periodically. Do not allow absorbent materials such as carpeting, curtains, drapes, or tablecloths to become damp. ■ Make sure there is no water left in the water tank when the appliance is not in use.■ 8 

■ Before storage, empty and clean the appli- ance. Clean the appliance before using it again. ■ WARNING! Microorganisms that may be in the water or in the environment where the appliance is used or stored can multiply in the water tank and be blown into the air. This can lead to serious health risks if the water is not renewed and the water tank is not cleaned every 3 days. ■ The water tank must be emptied and refilled every 3 days. Before filling, rinse out the water tank with fresh water. Any build-up, deposits, or layer of dirt that has formed on the surfaces of the water tank or the internal surfaces must be removed. All surfaces should be wiped dry. ■ Use the appliance only with essential oils (aromatic oils). ■ To prevent damage to the appliance, never use the appliance with undiluted aromatic oils.GB

The use of other substances may result in poisoning or the risk of fire. ■ Keep aromatic oils out of the reach of children. ■ Always store aromatic oils under lock and key. ■ Also note the warnings on the labels of the aromatic oils: Symbol Meaning Read and observe the operating instructions!  11 ■SAD 12 F5 Disposal of packaging The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal and are therefore recyclable. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations. Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7: Plastics, 20–22: Paper and cardboard, 80–98: Composites. Electrical connection IMPORTANT ► Before you connect the appliance to the power supply, check to ensure that the required input voltage as given on the type plate tallies with that for the intended power source. To avoid possible damage to the appliance this data must match. ► Check to ensure that the cable for the power adapterq is not damaged and that it does not lead over hot surfaces and or sharp edges, otherwise it could be damaged. ► Ensure that the cable for the power adapterq is not over-taut or kinked. ♦ Connect the power adapterq to the appliance by inserting the plug into the plug socket0 on the underside of the appliance.■ 12 

Handling and operation Initial use IMPORTANT ► It is possible that oil drops may cause damage to furniture surfaces. If necessary, place a cloth under the appliance. ♦ Place the appliance on a level and stable surface. ♦ Remove the lid1 and fill the water tank4, by using the supplied measuring beakerw with max. 120 ml of clean mains water. Pay heed to the maximum filling level9. ♦ Add 2 to 4 drops of the desired oil to the water. ♦ Then replace the lid1 onto the water tank4. Ensure that the steam outlet2 is not placed directly above the ventilation slot3 otherwise no steam can escape. ♦ Insert the power adapterq into the mains power socket. Switching the appliance on and off and the colour change function ♦ Press the button6 to switch on the appliance. Aromatic mist production and the colour change function start. ♦ Press the button7 to fix the current colour. ♦ Press the button7 again to switch off the colour change function. ♦ Press the button6 again to switch off the appliance. Aromatic mist production and the colour change function stop.GB

 13 ■SAD 12 F5 NOTICE ► The appliance switches itself off automatically as soon as the liquid in the water tank4 has been used up. IMPORTANT Damage to the appliance! ► NEVER tilt the appliance during operation and do not try to empty it. ► Be sure to disconnect the power adapterq from the mains power socket before filling or emptying the appliance. Cleaning/Storage/Disposal IMPORTANT Damage to the appliance! ► To avoid irreparable damage, when you are cleaning the ap- pliance ensure that no moisture can penetrate into it. ► Ensure that you remove the power adapterq from the mains power socket before cleaning the appliance. ► To avoid damage, do not empty the appliance through the ventilation slot3. When emptying it, take note of the pouring direction arrow8 on the water tank4. ► Under no circumstances should you try to remove scale de- posits with a pointed or sharp object. The appliance could be irreparably damaged.■ 14 

Cleaning/descaling the appliance ♦ Clean the water tank4 after each use so as to remove oil resi- due as completely as possible. For this, use a soft and slightly moist cloth. In the case of stubborn stains, place a few drops of mild detergent on the damp cloth. NOTICE ► Use common retail sunflower oil to remove discolourations caused by oils from the water container4. ♦ Should the steam production diminish, the ceramic disk5 located at the bottom of the water tank4 must be cleaned. For this, use a slightly moistened cotton bud. ♦ Clean the surfaces of the appliance with a soft and dry cloth. ♦ To descale the appliance, use a standard commercial liquid descaling agent. Pay heed also to the manufacturer’s instruc- tions for your descaler. ♦ Fill the water tank4 to the maximum filling level9 with descaler and let it stand until the scale is fully dissolved. ♦ Pour the scale removal away and then clean the water tank4 with a soft and slightly damp cloth. Storage Should you decide to not use the appliance for an extended period, disconnect it from the mains power supply and store it in a clean and dry location away from direct sunlight.GB

 15 ■SAD 12 F5 Disposing of the appliance Never dispose of the appliance or the mains adapter in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provision of Euro- pean Directive 2012/19/EU WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Dispose of the appliance and the mains adapter via an approved disposal company or your municipal waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre. Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product. The product is recyclable, subject to extended producer responsibility and is collected separately. Appendix Notes on the EU declaration of conformity In regard to conformity with essential requirements and other relevant provisions, this appliance complies with the European EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and the Eco- design Directive 2009/125/EC. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the war- ranty described below. Warranty conditions The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase. If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred. The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The war- ranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass. The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discour- aged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided. This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.
