Position 2 : Precise time setting.
Time-setting mode
- Wind the watch manually using the crown (G).
During this operation, you will notice that the power-reserve hand (D), located at 2 o'clock, will move upward. The figure indicated by the hand represents the number of hours for which the watch will function before needing to be rewound. It is preferable to wind your watch in the morning before wea-ring it. Wearing the watch with a fully-loaded spring improves the precision of the timepiece.
- Pull the crown into position 2 and rotate hands (A) + (B) clockwise: when the hour hand passes 24:00 hours, the date and day of the week will jump. Continue rotating the hand until the desired TIME is shown.
- Push the crown back into position 1
- Using the button (J) located at 8 o'clock, rotate the retrograde date hand (C) until the desired DATE is shown.
Do not use this function between 9.00 p.m. and 1.00 a.m. in order to avoid poor positioning of the hand due to the triggering of the driving finger device.
- Using the button (I), located at 4 o'clock, rotate the days-of-the-week hand (E) until the desired DAY OF THE WEEK is shown.
Do not use this function between 9.00 p.m. and 1.00 a.m. in order to avoid poor positioning of the hand due to the triggering of the driving finger device.
- Using the button (H), located at half past 3 (thus between crown G and button I), rotate the LUNAR PHASE display (F) until the desired phase is shown.
Do not use this function between 11.00 p.m. and 4.00 a.m. in order to avoid poor positioning of the hand due to the triggering of the driving finger device.
You can find lunar phases in a calendar: look for the date on which the last full moon occurred. Press the button (H) until the full moon is displayed in the centre of the dial window. Then, continue to push the button (H) yet another time for day passed since the last full moon.
A moon-phase calendar is available on our website at www.mauricelacroix.com.
Special features of the movement
- The « power reserve » system is equipped with a differential that ensures optimum movement and remarkable precision.
- The « Retrograde date » complication has a few innovative elements: first of all, a cam with 31 small flats which position an arm that operates a spindle with a segmented edge.
- The jumps of the retrograde date and day of the week take place within a 45 minute bracket.
- The Lunar Phase display jumps at around 3.00 a.m.
