GeneralSafetyInstructions

Keep these instructions with the car seat in case you need to refer to them again in the future. Failure to follow these instructions may affect your child's safety

Your car seat must be positioned and installed so that, under normal vehicle usage conditions, no part can become jammed under or between any moveable seat or in the vehicle door.

Always replace the car seat after any accident, in case of any unseen damage.

Do not modify or add to your car seat in any way without the approval of a competent authority or the manufacturer, as this will void any warranty.

Shade your car seat from sunlight to avoid hot items causing injury to your child.

Do not leave your child unattended while in the car seat and in the vehicle.

Make sure there is no loose luggage or other large objects that are likely to cause injuries in the event of an accident. These may cause injury to other occupants. Always secure loose items.

Do not use the car seat without the seat cover.

Do not replace the seat cover with any cover other than the one recommended by the manufacturer, as it directly influences the safety performance of the car seat.

Always ensure that the vehicle adult seat belt is fastened once your seat is installed.

Secure your car seat with the vehicle seat belt at all times, even when your child is not in the car seat. An unsecured car seat can cause injuries in the event of a collision.

Always check that there is no food debris or other such matter in the harness buckle. This may affect the correct function of the buckle.

During cold winter conditions take care that any change of clothing has not reduced the tension and effectiveness of the car seat harness.

If you are in any doubt about any part of the installation or proper use of your car seat, please contact the manufacturer of the car seat..

PreparingyourCarSeatforuse

Before using your new car seat it is important to understand fully how to install your car seat properly, secure your child correctly and familiarize yourself with the features and functions of the seat.

Only refer to this section if your car seat is supplied with the back rest separated from the base.

Before fitting the backrest you may need to loosen or relax the harness so that the backrest can be laid flat behind the seat base. Please refer to section "harness tension adjusting". Also release the harness shoulder strap connectors from the buckle.

At the base end of the backrest you will find two projecting tabs. Align and engage both tabs with the openings found at the rear of the seat base (3), and then raise the back up vertically (4) as the tabs insert into the openings.

When raising the backrest to vertical, ensure that no parts of the harness, cover etc can be trapped between the backrest and the seat base.

Once the back rest is fully vertical, pull the backrest forward while at the same time pressing firmly downwards by pushing on the top of the backrest until you hear and feel a click, make sure the tabs are full inserted into the openings and the back rest feels secure and stable (5).

FittingtheCarSeatwhenusingtheAdultSeatBeltOnlyGroup2-3

Group. 2-3, from 15 to 36kg (from approximately 3 to 12 years).

InstallationofyourCarSeat

Important! Before installing the car seat check that the buckle of the adult seat belt is not positioned so that it reaches under the armrest of the car seat. If this is the case, try another seat or contact our customer service department for advice.

Before installing the car seat in the vehicle, first remove the harness from the car seat. Refer to the section "removing the harness". Raise the headrest to its highest position.

AdjustingtheHeadrest

Your car seat is fitted with an adjustable headrest that has been designed to support your child throughout growth by providing maximum lateral head protection. Never remove the backrest of your car seat.

The headrest can be moved up or down through a series of stop positions. To do this hold firmly on the top of the backrest and pull or push on the headrest until it moves into the required stop position to suit the size of your child.

SecuringtheCarSeatandyourChild

Place the car seat against the backrest of the vehicle seat (22).

Check that the headrest of the vehicle seat does not obstruct the car seat. If this should be the case then adjust or remove the vehicle headrest.

With your child sitting upright and back in the seat, extract the adult seat belt and pass it across the front of the child.

Locate the upper portion of the diagonal section of the adult belt into the belt guide (M) found on the underside of the headrest side wings (23). Pass the lap section of the adult belt over the child's lap and under the armrest on both sides of the seat. Ensure the lap belt is low down on the child's lap and firmly engaging with the pelvis. Connect the adult belt connector tongue to the seat belt buckle (24).

Ensure that on the buckle side both the lap and diagonal sections of the adult seat belt pass under the armrest (24). Now adjust the headrest so that the diagonal belt section passes over the shoulder midway between the neck and the end of the shoulder. The headrest belt guide should be near level with the child's shoulder (25) (26). To remove your child from the car seat, simply unbuckle the seat belt and place it at the side of the car seat. The belt will remain suspended from the headrest belt guide.

FinalChecklist

However safe a child seat is, however well built it is, your child's safety depends on you carrying out the following checks before every journey.

  • Check the car seat is facing forwards in the vehicle and in the direction of travel (22).
  • Check the adult seat belt is fitted correctly with the lap section under the armrest and the diagonal under the armrest on the buckle side (24).
  • Check the upper diagonal section is located in the belt guide on the head rest (23).
  • Check the vehicle seat belt is not twisted or slack.
  • Check the head rest position is at the correct height with the diagonal belt going over the shoulder (25) (26).

Important! Misusing your child seat will reduce the protection and safety you offer your child.

CupHolder

A cup holder is provided and can be secured to the side of the seat base behind the armrest. A fixing point is accessible through a small opening in the cover (30).

Maintenance

RemovingtheHarness

To do this, remove the shoulder straps as described in the section for "Harness setting and adjustment" (6)(7).

Remove the lap strap sections by feeding the metal plate through the windows in the base (19) (20).

To remove the crotch strap feed the metal plate found under the base through the window (21).

Connect the harness connectors and the buckle together and store in a dry and safe place for future use.

Reverse this process for re-assembly of the harness. Ensure when refitting the harness crotch strap that the metal plate is completely through the window in the car seat base and flat against the seat. Ensure the harness straps are not twisted and that the connectors are positioned to correctly fit the buckle (27) (28) (29).

RemovingandCleaningtheBuckle

To remove the buckle, carefully pass the metal plate on the underside of the car seat through the window in the car seat shell until the buckle is free (35). Rinse the buckle thoroughly with warm water. Allow the buckle to dry.

Check the function of the buckle by inserting the connectors. If you hear a click the buckle is functioning. If there is no click repeat the process. Leave buckle to dry before re-assembling on the seat.

RemovingtheCover

Before removing the cover it is necessary to remove the backrest from the base. If doing so with the harness on the seat is best to loosen or remove the harness. (see 'removing the harness').

To remove the backrest, rest you weight on the base. Now grip the backrest sides and pull hard upwards until you hear and feel a click. The backrest should now rotate backwards (32).

The base should now separate.

To reassemble, you will find two projecting tabs at the base end of the backrest. Align and engage both tabs with the openings found at the rear of the seat base (36), and then raise the back up vertically (37) as the tabs insert into the openings.

When raising the backrest to vertical, ensure that no parts of the harness, cover, etc can be trapped between the backrest and the seat base.

Once the back rest is fully vertical, pull the backrest forward whilst at the same time pressing firmly downwards by pushing on the top of the backrest until you hear and feel a click, make sure the tabs are full inserted into the openings and the back rest feels secure and stable (38).

Dismantle the harness before beginning operations to remove the cover (see 'removing the harness').

Unhook the backrest cover elastic strap and slide off the cover then pull the headrest cover off and unhook the elastic hooks from the diagonal belt guides (33).

Slide the seat cover over the armrests and off the front of the booster seat (34).
