Intended use This appliance is intended primarily for non-commercial use in closed rooms for grilling and keeping food warm in Gas- tronorm containers or on the hotplate in normal domestic quantities. Do not use a damaged appliance. This appliance is not intended for use ■ by persons (including children) with re- stricted physical, sensory or mental ca- pabilities or with insufcient experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instruc- tions on the use of the appliance from such a person. CAUTION Do not pull the connecting cable ► to remove the plug from the mains socket. Never operate the appliance when ► the containers are empty. Do not use sharp objects or abra- ► sive cleaning agents to clean the surfaces. Never lift or turn the appliance with ► the mains cable. Do not put plastic containers onto ► the hot plate/grilling plate; they could melt. Requirements for the place of use For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the place of operation must sat- isfy the following requirements: Place the appliance on a rm, dry, at, ■ waterproof and heat-resistant surface. Do not put the appliance in the vicinity ■ of heat or steam sources or near am- mable materials. Do not install the appliance in a hot, ■ wet or very humid environment. The mains socket must be easily ac- ■ cessible and allow fast disconnection in the event of an emergency. The surface nishes on furniture may ■ contain substances that can be detri- mental to the rubber feet of the appli- ance. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance. Do not put the appliance underneath ■ a wall cupboard or another piece of furniture.17 EN Buffet Star 3 in 1 BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Electrical connection For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the following instructions on the electrical connection must be observed: Before connecting the appliance, ■ compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains power supply. The data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the appliance. If in doubt, ask your electrical appliance retailer. The mains socket must be protected ■ by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker. Ensure that the mains lead is undam- ■ aged and is not laid over sharp edges. The mains cable must not pulled ■ tightly, bent or come into contact with hot surfaces. Route the cable to prevent risk of trip- ■ ping. The electrical safety of the appliance ■ is only assured when it is connected to a properly installed protective earth (PE) conductor system. Connection to a mains socket without PE conductor is forbidden. If in doubt, the electrical system must be checked by a qualied electrician. The manufacturer assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by a missing or interrupted protective earth conductor. Startup Unpacking Remove the appliance, all accessory parts and the user manual from the box. Remove all packaging materials and protective foils from the product and the accessories before using it for the rst time. NOTE Do not remove the rating plate or ► any warning signs on the appliance. If possible, keep the original packag- ► ing during the guarantee period in order to be able to pack the ap- pliance properly in the event of a guarantee claim. Transport damage will invalidate the guarantee. Check the delivery contents Check for visible signs of damage or missing items. Report incomplete or damaged con- tents to your supplier immediately. Before using for the rst time Clean the appliance and the acces- sories as described in the section Cleaning and care. NOTE Due to production residue (grease), ► it is possible that a new appliance may smoke lightly. The middle heating zone also has a grilling function. The indi- cator lights (3) light up when the appliance is heating. To switch off the appliance, turn all three rotary switches to level . To keep food warm, turn the rotary switch of the respective heating zone to level . For the grilling function, turn the rotary switch of the left and right heating zone (4, 6) to level and the rotary switch for the middle heating zone (5) either to level for gentle grilling or level for fast grilling. Using the buffet warmer Remove the grill plate (10) and put the frame attachment (7) onto the base appliance (2). Fill the Gastronorm containers (11) with food and insert them into the frame attachment (7). Turn the rotary switch of the heating zone used to level . Place the lid (12) onto the Gastronorm containers (11) to prevent food from drying out. Using as hot plate Remove the frame attachment (7) and put the grill plate (10) onto the base appliance (2). Turn all three rotary switches to level

Grease the grill plate (10) lightly. Turn the rotary switch for the left and right heating zones to level and the rotary switch for the middle heating zone for gentle grilling (e.g., shrimps) to level or to level for fast grilling (e.g,. meat). After the appliance has heated up, you can begin with grilling. NOTE Grill on the middle heating zone and ► keep the grilled food warm on the adjacent heating zones. After using Switch off the appliance and pull the plug out of the mains socket. Allow the appliance to cool down com- pletely. Rinse the containers and the grill plate with water. Clean the appliance and the accesso- ries used as described in the section Cleaning and care. Storage If you do not intend to use the appliance for a longer period of time, clean it as de- scribed in the section Cleaning and care. Store the appliance and all accessory parts at a dry, clean and frost-free loca- tion, which is protected against direct sunlight. Cleaning and care Before beginning work, pay attention to the safety instructions in the section on safety! Cleaning the appliance Wipe the base appliance (2) with a slightly damp cloth. All other parts can be cleaned in a warm washing-up liquid solution or in the dish washer. Dry all parts of the appliance thor- oughly after cleaning. NOTE Dried and caked food residues can ► be removed more easily if you allow them to soak in warm washing-up liquid solution for 10 minutes before cleaning.20 Buffet Star 3 in 1 EN BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Troubleshooting The following table will help you locate and eliminate minor faults: Fault Possible cause Remedy The appliance does not work after turning the rotary switch. Plug not inserted into socket. Insert plug. Automatic circuit breaker in electrical distribution board tripped. Switch on the automatic circuit breaker again. The automatic circuit breaker in the electrical distribution board trips. Too many appliances connect- ed to the same power circuit. Reduce the number of appliances on the power circuit.
