Intended use This machine is intended primarily for non-commercial use in closed rooms for creating a continuously variable air ow. Do not use a damaged appliance. This appliance is not intended for use ■ by persons (including children) with re- stricted physical, sensory or mental ca- pabilities or with insufcient experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instruc- tions on the use of the appliance from such a person. Children must be supervised to ensure ■ that they do not play with the appli- ance. Store the appliance out of the reach of ■ children. Only allow repairs to the appliance ■ to be carried out by an authorised specialist or by the works customer service; this particularly applies to replacing a damaged connecting ca- ble. Unqualied repairs can lead to considerable danger for the user. This will also invalidate the warranty or guarantee. Repairs to the appliance during the ■ warranty or guarantee period may only be carried out by service centres authorised by the manufacturer, oth- erwise no guarantee or warranty claim can be made in the case of damage and follow-up faults. Only replace defective components ■ with original spare parts. Only original spare parts guarantee that the safety requirements are met. DANGER Danger of electric current! Do not use the appliance if the mains ► cable or mains plug is damaged. Do not open the housing of the ap- ► pliance. Do not use sharp objects or abra- ► sive/polishing cleaning agents to clean the surfaces. Do not move the appliance by grip- ► ping the air ring. Requirements for the place of use For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the installation location must satisfy the following requirements: Place the appliance on a rm, dry, at ■ and waterproof surface. Do not install the appliance in a hot, ■ wet or very humid environment. The mains socket must be easily ac- ■ cessible and allow fast disconnection in the event of an emergency. The surface nishes on furniture may ■ contain substances that can be detri- mental to the feet of the appliance. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance. Electrical connection For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the following instructions on the electrical connection must be be ob- served: Before connecting the appliance, ■ compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains power supply. This data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the appliance. If in doubt, ask your electrical appliance retailer. The mains socket must be protected ■ by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker. Ensure that the mains cable is undam- ■ aged and is not laid over sharp edges. The mains cable must not be pulled ■ tightly, bent or come into contact with hot surfaces. Route the mains cable to prevent risk ■ of tripping. The electrical safety of the appliance ■ is only assured when it is connected to a properly installed protective earth (PE) conductor system. Connection to a mains socket without PE conductor is forbidden. If in doubt, the electrical system must be checked by a qualied electrician. The manufacturer assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by a missing or interrupted protective earth conductor.15 EN Air Joy Cool BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Before using for the rst time Unpacking Remove the appliance and the user manual from the box. Remove all packaging materials and protective foils from the product and the accessories before using it for the rst time. NOTE Do not remove the rating plate or ► any warning signs on the appliance. If possible, keep the original packag- ► ing during the warranty or guarantee period in order to be able to pack the appliance properly in the event of a guarantee claim. Transport dam- age will invalidate the warranty or guarantee. Checking the delivery contents Check for visible signs of damage or missing items. Report incomplete or damaged con- tents to your supplier immediately. Switch rotation movement ON/OFF Startup Plug the appliance into the mains socket. Insert the batteries (not supplied) into the remote control according to cor- rect polarity.16 Air Joy Cool En BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Operation and use Switching the appliance on/off The appliance is switched on and off by pressing the button on the operating panel (5). To switch on the appliance, press the button on the operating panel. The blue indicator lamp lights up. To switch off the appliance, press the button again. The blue indicator lamp extinguishes. Setting the air ow Continuous setting of the air ow takes place via the regulator button on the operating panel (5). Turn the regulator clockwise to set a stronger air ow. Turn the regulator anticlockwise to set a weaker air ow. Rotating movement ON/OFF switch (image A1) Switching the rotating movement on and off takes place via the button on the operating panel (5). Directing the air ow (see images B1 and B2) The direction of the airow is set via the inclination adjustment on the foot (3). NOTE Only direct the airow when the ► rotating movement is switched off. Hold the foot tight with one hand. Change the inclination of the appli- ance with the other hand until the desired airow angle has been set (images B1 and B2).17 EN Air Joy Cool BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Operating with the remote control You can control all electrical functions of the appliance with the remote control. All settings made via the remote con- ► trol are conrmed by a signal tone. Timer function The appliance is equipped with a timer function. To activate this, proceed as fol- lows: During operation, press the

button again. To activate the timer for 120 minutes, press the

button. Wall mounting (image C1) It is possible to mount the appliance on a wall. To do this, proceed as follows: Screw the mounting plate to the wall with the three screws supplied so that the holding elements point upwards. Hang the appliance onto the mounting plate. Direct the airow. Connect the appliance to the mains and switch it on.18 Air Joy Cool En BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Cleaning and maintenance Before beginning any work, pay attention to the safety instructions in the section Safety instructions (page 13)! Cleaning the appliance Pull the plug out of the mains socket. Wipe the appliance with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Eliminate contamination Check the air inlets and the air slot (2) for free ow. Eliminate contamination such as dirt or dust particles with a soft brush. ATTENTION Do not work on the air slots with ► tools or clean with wet cloths. Storage If you do not intend to use the appliance for a longer period of time, unplug it from the mains and clean it as described in the section Cleaning and maintenance (page 18). Store the appliance in a dry, clean and frost-free place which is protected against direct sunlight.19 EN Air Joy Cool BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Troubleshooting The following table will help you locate and eliminate minor faults: Fault Possible cause Remedy The indicator lamp does not light up after switch- ing on. Plug not inserted into socket. Insert plug. Automatic circuit breaker in electrical distribution board tripped. Switch on the automatic circuit breaker again. The automatic circuit breaker in the electrical distribution board trips. Too many appliances con- nected to the same power circuit. Reduce the number of appliances on the power circuit. No fault detected. Contact customer service. The airow is too weak. There is contamination in the air inlets or between the air slots. Eliminate possible con- tamination as described in the section Clean- ing and maintenance (page 18).
