2 Introduction to these instructions
This appliance is equipped with various safety features. Nevertheless please read this safety information carefully and use the appliance only as described in this instruction manual, in order to avoid injuries or damage.
Keep these instructions so you can refer to them. Should you give this appliance to anybody else, take care that you pass on the instructions as well.

4 Safety instructions
Use
- This appliance is only intended for domestic use. It is not for commercial use.
- This appliance should only be used for boiling water and keeping tea or other hot drinks warm.
- Read and observe the safety information. Keep it stored properly.
DANGER to children
- Particular care should be taken if the appliance is used near children. Do not leave the appliance unattended.
- The appliance must not be operated by people with
impaired physical abilities,
impaired sensory abilities,
- impaired mental abilities,
- a lack of experience and knowledge
or children
if they are not supervised or have not been instructed how to use the appliance by a person who is responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Keep packaging materials away from children to avoid risk of suffocation or other personal injury.
DANGER from electricity

To avoid risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not use the appliance in the open air, and do not immerse it in water or other liquids.

Do not use the appliance in humid rooms.
- Before connecting the appliance to your power supply, you should ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate matches that of your power supply
- If an extension cord is needed, a 3 × 1.5 ~mm extension cord (fully extended) should be used to prevent the cord overheating and therefore causing damage.
- We recommend that the appliance be connected to a separate electrical circuit.
- The appliance should only be connected to a properly earthed mains power supply.
- Switch the appliance off before you pull out the mains plug.
- Never pull on the mains cord to disconnect the appliance from the power socket. Always pull the plug.
- Do not allow the mains cord to hang over sharp edges or hot surfaces.
- Operate the appliance only with the supplied mains cord.
- Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself, and never use it if the plug or mains cord is damaged, if it is not working properly, or if there is other damage. Send or take the appliance to an authorised dealer. Attempts at repair by unauthorised persons will lead to invalidation of the guarantee entitlement.

Remove the plug from the electrical socket:
-
if you are not using the appliance;
- if a fault arises during operation; or
-
before you clean the appliance.

Make sure your hands are dry before you touch the appliance or the mains cord.
WARNING - to avoid burns/ fire
- Never leave the appliance unattended while switched on.
- Never place the appliance near to a source of heat or steam, or to flammable materials.
- Water boiler (1), tea pot (10) and keep warm plate (9) become hot during operation. Touch only the handles and buttons.
- Hot steam escapes when water is boiling. Do not open the lid (2) of the water boiler (1) when water is being boiled or immediately after it has boiled. Do not use the tea pot (10) without the lid (12) either.
- Do not move the base station (7) when the water boiler (1) and tea pot (10) are on it.
- Do not fill the water boiler (1) above the max marking, hot water may spurt out.
- Pull out the plug and let the appliance cool down before you clean it.
WARNING - to avoid injuries
- Do not allow the mains cord to hang over corners (trip-wire effect).
ATTENTION - to avoid damage to the appliance or other property
- Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface which is not easily inflammable.
- The cable should not come into contact with the appliance when it is hot.
- The plug must be easily accessible so that you can pull it out quickly if necessary.
- Never place the appliance near a gas flame, electric hotplate or other source of heat. External heat can damage the appliance.
- Do not put the water boiler (1) or the tea pot (10) in the microwave because they contain metal parts.
- If the tea pot (10) is not on the keep warm plate (9) or is empty, switch off the keep warm plate (9) with the on/off button (8).
- The water boiler (1) may be used only with the electric base station (7) which belongs to it.
- Do not put aluminium between the keep warm plate (9) and the tea pot (10). This may damage the keep warm plate (9).
PLEASE NOTE: No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by misuse.
5 Prior to initial use
- Make sure that any packing material has been removed from outside and inside of the item (protective film etc).
- Check that all parts are there (see chapter 3 "Description and scope of delivery").
- Leave the specification plate and any warning notices on the appliance.
ATTENTION: Check the appliance for any damage. If there is any damage, do not operate it and contact qualified service personnel.
- Place the electric base station (7) on a heat/water resistant and flat even surface
- Before initial use fill the water boiler (1) with water up to the MAX mark, heat the water until it has boiled, empty and repeat this procedure. Clean the glass pot (10) and the tea strainer (11) thoroughly with washing-up liquid in order to remove any residue from the manufacturing process.
6 Operating Instructions
6.1 Boiling water
Hints and tips:
- The water boiler (1) is equipped with a scale filter (14) that holds back scale residues etc. For cleaning purposes it can be removed by pushing lightly from the inside and pulling it out.
- When the water has cooled down, just push down the on / off switch (6) again and restart the boiling process.

The switch (6) will automatically shut off if the water boiler (1) is removed from the base station (7) before or during the boiling process.
Always use non-fizzy, fresh, cold mineral or tap water. Never fill the water tank with milk, ready coffee, tea etc. -
Insert the mains cord (15) in the power socket of the base station (7) and then the mains plug in the household supply.
- Take the water boiler (1) off the base station, open the lid (2) by pushing the open button (3) and fill it with the desired amount of water, MAX 1.7 L.
NOTE: If there is too little water the appliance switches off before the water boils.
ATTENTION: Do not fill the water boiler above the MAX marking. Water may overflow and the heating element could become damaged. If the water boiler is overfilled there is the risk of boiling water spurting out.
- Push the lid (2) down until you hear it click in place.
- Put the boiler on the base station (7). Due to the 360^ rotating system, you can place it on the base in any position you like.
ATTENTION: Water must not enter the base station (7)!
- Push the on / off switch (6) down. The red signal lamps (5) light up.
- The water boils very quickly. The on / off switch (6) switches off automatically and the signal lamps (5) switch off.
Before you switch on the water boiler (1) again, let it cool down for 15 to 20 seconds. To start the boiling process again, push the on / off switch (6) back down again.
6.2 Brewing tea
Hints and tips:
- Thanks to the practical tea strainer (11) you do not need paper filters with this appliance.
- Your tea will taste best when the appliance is clean. Clean it regularly as described in chapter 7.

Do not reuse tea leaves a second time as this will greatly impair the flavour of your tea.

Press the button (13) to open the lid (12)
- Take the tea strainer (11) out of the tea pot (10).
- Put either tea leaves or tea bags in it.
- Replace the strainer (11) in the glass tea pot (10).
- Boil fresh water with the water boiler (1) as described above.
- Let the boiling water cool down for 30 seconds and pour it into the glass pot (10).
NOTE: Always be careful while handling hot water, in order to avoid burns.
- When the tea has brewed for long enough, take out the tea strainer (11) and close the lid (12).
ATTENTION: Do not cool the hot glass tea pot (10) down with cold water.
6.3 Keeping tea warm
Hints and tips:
- Never use the glass pot to heat or boil cold water or other cold liquids. Only use the water boiler to heat or boil cold water.
- Switch on the keep warm plate (9) by pressing the on/off button (8).
ATTENTION: Do not leave the empty tea pot (10) on the switched-on keep warm plate (9).
7 Cleaning

WARNING
Risk of burning
Before cleaning always pull out the mains plug and let the appliance cool down.

Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

Never use aggressive, abrasive or chemical cleaning products.

ATTENTION

If lime scale covers the bottom of the boiler (1) the appliance can be damaged (accumulation of heat)
- Pull out the mains plug. Let the appliance cool down properly.
- Wipe the outside of the appliance with a wet cloth.
Water boiler
- The scale filter (14) can be taken out easily for cleaning purposes: to do this lift it upwards.
- You can clean the scale filter (14) by hand or in the dishwasher. If necessary, put it in descaler for a few hours.
- Clean the water boiler (1) on the inside with a soft brush or something similar with a long handle and rinse it out. From the outside clean only with a wet cloth/sponge. Then dry with a soft cloth.
Tea pot
Clean the tea pot (10) and the tea strainer (11) after every use.
- Take out the tea strainer (11).
- You can clean the tea strainer (11) by hand with hot water but NOT in the dishwasher.
- Clean the tea pot (10) with the lid (12) using washing-up liquid and rinse with clear water. You can also clean the tea pot (10) in the dishwasher.
- Wipe the keep warm plate (9) carefully with a wet cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaning products.
NOTE: Unplug from the mains if the device is not used for a longer period.
7.1 Descaling
Use descalers with citric acid or vinegar essence (approx. 5% acid).
For descending use only an environmentally-friendly descending agent and proceed only according to the information of the manufacturer.
Do not use formic acid-based descalers.
Water boiler
The water boiler (1) should be descaled after 20 - 40 uses, or possibly before if necessary. If lime scale covers the bottom of the water boiler (1) the appliance can be damaged (accumulation of heat). You can see that lime scale has formed when there is white discoloration on the inside of the water boiler (1).
- Use the descending agent according to the information of the manufacturer for the water boiler (1).
- Empty the water boiler (1) and remove the remnants with a wet cloth.
- After descending fill the water boiler (1) twice with fresh water and let it boil and pour it away.
7.2 Care of stainless steel parts
For regular care and also for removing stubborn stains on stainless steel parts we recommend the INOX METAL POLISH from Beem. This polish restores the original sheen to appliances. INOX METAL POLISH is available in tubes and is suitable for all objects made of stainless steel, chrome, brass, copper, aluminium, silver and also hard plastics. Please note that the label and imprint on the stainless steel surfaces may come off if not cleaned with metal polish or other chemicals.
7.3 Storage
- Let the appliance cool down fully.
- Empty the water boiler (1).
8 Faults and troubleshooting
ATTENTION! In the event of a fault during use, unplug the appliance.
If the water and tea boiling station fails to operate, please check whether
- the appliance is plugged in.
- the water boiler (1) is switched on. (Signal lamp (5) should illuminate!)
- the water boiler (1) is empty or filled below the MIN mark.
the on/off button (8) of the keep warm plate is switched on. - other appliances with high wattage are in operation simultaneously, causing the main fuse to blow. First disconnect the appliance from the mains. Then reconnect the fuse.
- If the main fuse blows, this is normally an indication of a fault. In this case, qualified service personnel should check the appliance.
9 Disposal
The following regulations apply under some circumstances only for countries of the European Community.
Dispos of the packaging without mixing different types of packing material. If you want to get rid of the product, dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner and in line with current regulations.
The following regulation applies for Germany and some EC countries:
This product must not be treated as normal household waste, but has to be handed over to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic appliances according to the regulations which apply in your particular country. Information can be found out at your local collection point.
Some EC and non-EC countries have their own specific regulations for the disposal of old appliances. Information can be obtained from the responsible authorities.

12 Warranty, service, repairs
This high quality product from BEEM has been made in accordance with the latest manufacturing methods.
We guarantee that this high-quality product is in perfect condition. We will remedy all material or manufacturing defects free of charge within the warranty period.
The warranty period for this product is 24 months.
With industrial or similar use e.g. in hotels, guesthouses or communal facilities, or when the customer is not a consumer in terms of the German Civil Code, the manufacturer provides a warranty of 6 months. This does not affect the warranty exclusion.
Warranty exclusion: the warranty specifically excludes defects that have been caused by incorrect manipulation, disregard of the operating instructions and safety notes, use of force, alterations, attempts at self-repair or repair attempts undertaken by unqualified third parties. Also excluded are defects caused by normal wear & tear.
Insofar as we are legally obliged to provide a warranty, we will either repair or replace the defective item free of charge - with rights of replacement or reduction in price being excluded. If it is not possible to repair the product after a number of attempts have been made, or if the replacement is also defective for reasons which are our responsibility, then the customer is entitled to a reduction in price or, at his discretion, to withdraw from the contract. The warranty is not extended by availment thereof.
The dealer from whom you purchased the product is responsible in the first instance for swapping (exchange or replacement), return of the product (withdrawal from the sales contract) or reduction in the sale price. This is especially the case in the event of return or claims for reduction in price, since these must be settled with consideration for the sale price. Refund of the sale price in the event of return of goods, or issue of a credit note in the case of price reduction, can only be effected by the dealer from whom you bought the product.

A machine-generated and dated sales receipt or invoice is to be enclosed with the product or spare parts order. Warranty services cannot be rendered without a machine-generated and dated sales receipt or invoice, either for repairs, spare parts or other claims.
