Safety advice and CAUTIONs

• Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance and keep them for future reference. Failure to follow and observe these instructions could lead to an accident.

Electrical safety:

• Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged.
• Ensure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.
• The appliance's plug must fit into the mains socket properly. Do not alter the plug. Do not use plug adaptors.
• If any of the appliance's casing breaks, immediately disconnect the appliance from the mains to prevent the likelihood of an electric shock.

Use and care:

Instructions for use

Use:

• Unroll the cable completely before plugging it in.
• Connect the appliance to the mains.
• Remove the protective cover (Fig. 1).
  -Ensure that the blades are correctly aligned
• Turn the appliance on using the on/off switch.
• To fix the comb guide, take it by the ends and press it against the razors of the appliance until firmly fixed in place. To dry just pull out. (Fig. 2).

How to cut hair

• Situate the person whose hair you are going to cut so that the top of their head is at your eye level. Place a protective towel or cloth around their neck.
• To obtain best results it is better to use the appliance on dry hair, as it is much easier to control the hair and the result.
• Comb hair well before cutting. Make sure that there are no tangles or knots.
• Hold the appliance in a calm and relaxed manner in order to ensure maximum control

of the cut and a uniform result. Proceed to use short cuts gradually going around the head.

• Leave the hair a little longer than the desired length as it can always be altered later.
• While working adapt the comb/comb guide to the desired length.
• At regular intervals, stop cutting in order to comb the hair and check the results so far.

Step 1 - Nape

• Attach comb guide #1 or #2.
• Hold the appliance with the razor facing downwards and begin to cut the hair from the base of the neck.
• Make some upward movements, raising the appliance gradually and away from the head, cutting the hair gradually until the height of the ears (Fig. 3).

Step 2 - The back of the head

• Attach comb guide #3 or #4 and continue with the back of the head (Fig. 4).

Step 3 - The side of the head

• Attach a new comb guide that is suitable for the right and left sides of the head. (*)
  -Attach a new shorter comb guide (#1 or #2) to trim the sideburns.
• Attach the longest comb (#3 or #4) again and continue until you reach the top of the head.

Step 4 - The top of the head

• Using comb guide #3 or #4, pass the appliance from the back to the front, against the growth of the hair (Fig. 5). In some cases it's

necessary to go over what you have done a second time from front to back.

• The comb guide #1 or #2 is for when you want to achieve a more precise cut.
• Use comb guides #3 or #4 to leave hair at a longer length. Hold the hair up with the comb or the comb and your fingers and cut.
• Always work from the back to the front, reducing the length between your fingers or the comb and the head gradually.

Step 5 - Final touch

• Finally use the appliance without attaching any comb guides to the blades to cut the hair around the base of the neck, the sides of the neck and the ears.
• To make the sideburns straight, turn the appliance over to use the upper blades (Fig. 6) move the appliance adapting it the physiognomy of the head. To achieve more precise results use the shaver or the finishing attachment.

Once you have finished using the appliance:

• Turn the appliance off, using the on/off switch.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains.
• Put on the protective cover.
• Clean the appliance.

Cleaning

• Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
• Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.
• Do not use solvents, or products with an

acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.

• Do not submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid, or place it under a running tap.
• During the cleaning process, take special care with the blades, as they are very sharp.
• Clean the blades and the comb guides with the cleaning brush. Remove the hairs from the blades and from within the appliance using the brush. It is important to clean off all the hairs after each use.
• If the appliance is not in good condition of cleanliness, its surface may degrade and inexorably affect the duration of the appliance's useful life and could become unsafe to use.

Blade alignment

• The blades must be readjusted each time they are removed, whether it is for cleaning or to exchanged for others.
• To readjust the blades you simply have to check the precision of the upper and lower blades until they are in the most minimal position, a distance of 1.2mm .
• If the alignment of the blades is incorrect, you must apply a few drops of oil and turn on the appliance for a moment. After unplugging the appliance, loosen the lower screws so as to align the blades well and then tighten the screws again.

Greasing the blades

• To maintain the appliance in good condition, the blades must be greased with oil regularly after every use.

Anomalies and repair

• Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if problems arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair without assistance, as this may be dangerous.
• If the connection to the mains has been damaged, it must be replaced and you should proceed as you would in the case of damage.

Ecology and recyclability of the product

• The materials of which the packaging of this appliance consists are included in a collection, classification and recycling system. Should you wish to dispose of them, use the appropriate public containers for each type of material.
• The product does not contain concentrations of substances that could be considered harmful to the environment.
