INTRODUCTION Your new RACLETTE /GRILL / FONDUE gives you the opportunity for preparing raclettes, grills and oil fondues for up to 8 people. It is ideal for both formal and informal entertaining. It is the perfect complement to your barbecue and useful when your family want to eat at different times.
PREPARING TO USE RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE
The RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE is designed for guests to select and cook their own food. You should, therefore, place the appliance in the centre of the table and serve the uncooked food on separate dishes. Raclette parties are fun, but can be messy! It is advisable to place the appliance on a clean surface, rather than your best tablecloth. Instructions and suggestions for each function of the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE are given, but of course you can use all the functions at the same time. USING THE RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Before using the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE for the first time, wash the grill plate, raclette pans, sauce bowl, fondue forks and fondue pot in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Wipe all the top cooking surfaces of the grill plate and raclette pans with a very thin coating of vegetable oil. This will seal the PTFE cooking surfaces and help to prevent the food from sticking and thus make cleaning easier.
- Then plug the appliance into the electricity supply.
- Switch on with the illuminated on/off switch under the carrying handle, then heat for ten minutes in a well ventilated room, some smoke may be produced by the heating element. The heating will remove any residue left by the manufacturing process.
COOKING WITH THE RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE
Switch on the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE and allow to heat for 15 minutes. A) Grilling with the top pan
- It is simple to cook all sorts of food by placing them on the hot top pan. Add a little vegetable oil before cooking.
- You might like to try small steaks or sausages; mushrooms, tomatoes and courgettes; prawns, or combine your ingredients to create colourful and delicious kebabs.
- The food will cook much quicker if it is cut into thin slices or small cubes.
- Fried eggs and omelettes can also be prepared on the top pan.

- When not using the fondue pot, you should always place the stainless steel sauce bowl in the middle of the top pan. Why not fill it with your favourite sauce to accompany your food?
- Serve your grills with a selection of sauces, salad and French bread. For dessert, fruits such as banana and pineapple can be grilled and served with cream or ice cream. B) Raclette
- The best Raclette is achieved by using traditional Raclette cheese, but you can experiment with other cheeses, for example French Cantal or Greek Halloumi, for a variety of flavours and textures.
- For each person, cut about 200 grams of cheese into 2mm thick slices.
- Put the slices in the Raclette pans and place these under the heating element.
- In 3 to 4 minutes, the cheese will melt and turn golden brown. Season with ground black pepper and serve with potatoes cooked in their skins or fresh, crusty bread.
- Accompany the Raclette with pickles and salad.
- The Raclette pans can also be used for cooking individual eggs or omelettes, bacon, tomatoes, peppers etc.. After cooking the pans may be kept hot by placing them on the top pan.
- A useful hint is that delicate foods are best cooked at the cool positions close to the carrying handles. C) Oil Fondue
- Remove the dust cover, never leave this on whilst cooking.
- Fill the fondue pot with vegetable oil up to a level between the maximum and minimum marks.
- Allow to heat for 20 minutes before cooking.
- Chop a selection of meats into small cubes.
- Place a cube of meat onto the fondue fork and immerse in the hot oil until browned.
- Warning: Do not use the fondue handles when the appliance is heating, as they may be very hot. Do not remove until cool.
- You can marinade the meat before serving and provide dipping sauces to serve with the cooked meats.
- Alternatively, make a simple batter and coat vegetables, such as courgettes and mushrooms, before cooking for about 45 seconds.
- Firm fleshed fish such as tuna and monkfish are also delicious in the fondue.
IMPORTANT REMARKS CONCERNING THE STONE
- The stone is a natural product. Small fissures can appear during the use. It is a normal phenomenon not covered by the guarantee.
- If the stone has been kept in a damp environment, heat it up slowly (2 to 3 hours) in a oven at 100°C or let it two days at ambient temperature.
- Avoid shocks when you move the stone. Also avoid the thermal shocks.
- Never place too large, too cold or frozen food on a hot stone.
- Never sprinkle a hot stone with cold water, it could crack.
- To avoid burns or fissures on the stone, never move a still hot stone.
- Only place food on a stone. Never place heavy objects on it.
If you use soused meat, you have to know that the spices will penetrate the stone. This will decolourise it and then give a taste to the grilled meat.

- Put the raclette-grill in the middle of the table.
- Before grilling, sprinkle the stone with salt.
- Use only wooden or plastic utensils in order not to damage the coating.
- When heating (above all in the presence of oil), the stone can give off a smell and a light smoke. This phenomenon disappears after a couple of minutes. The stone can also lose its colour and become darker. This decolouration does not have any influence on the functioning of the appliance.
- Wait until the stone is hot before placing foodstuffs on it. Control their grilling and turn them regularly with a wooden spatula. Do not pick the meat, it could lose its juice and its taste. Small pieces of meat and fish are ready more quickly and are better grilled than large pieces. So it is recommended to first cut them in small pieces of 1 to 2 cm.
- The stone stocks the heat naturally. So you can disconnect the appliance 10 minutes before the end of the grilling.
- It is recommended to remove the rests of food from the stone during the grilling (with a wooden spatula). Once the food is dry, it becomes more difficult to remove it.
- Cut the meat into small pieces. You thus reduce the cooking time. Chop the crude meat and serve it on a plate or a wooden board. Your guests can then choose the quantity of meat they wish and grill it.
- You can grill toasts in the raclette pans, cook fruit through or over, fry eggs or potatoes and many other things.
- You may serve the grilled meat with different sauces, salad.
CLEANING THE RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE
- Before cleaning, unplug and wait until the appliance has cooled down.
- Wipe the RACLETTE/GRILL/FONDUE with a damp cloth ensuring no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots. Do not immerse in any liquid.
- The top pan, raclette pans, and fondue forks may be immersed in hot soapy water, we do not recommend cleaning these items in a dishwasher.
- Do not clean any part of the appliance with any abrasive cleaners, pads or steel wool, as this will damage the surfaces.
- Never pour cold water on the hot stone, you could damage the appliance and cause splashes of boiling water.
- Clean the stone only with hot water and possibly with a soft sponge.
- Never use cleaning products or abrasive products because those change the natural properties of the stone.
- Do not scratch the stone with a sharp object in order not to damage the surface.
- Never immerse the stone in water.
- The stone and the pans are not dishwasher safe.
- If you have grilled fish on the stone, it is recommended to rub the stone light with vinegar or lemon juice.
