Fax +32 2 359 95 50 COMMISSIONING Lift the heating element and place it in the collecting pan at the bottom of the appliance. Make sure that you do not burn your fingers when lifting the heating element. Fill the collecting pan with water between the minimum and maximum marking. Make sure that there is always water in the pan. This will avoid smoke formation and avoid an overheating of the appliance. Refill it during operation in regular intervals. The appliance must never be operated without water (Risk of overheating!) Never pour water onto the heating element or on the operating element! Do not forget to pull off the plug from the socket when adding water. If necessary install the windbreak with the stopping grid (optional) by inserting its pins into the provided holes of the barbecue housing. Plug-in the plug into the socket. Switch on the appliance by turning the thermostat controller clockwise to the maximum position. Heat the barbecue filled with water before using it for the first time without food for about 5 minutes until the inherent smell of the appliance goes away (it is possible that there is little formation of smoke, therefore provide sufficient aeration). Before the barbecue you should oil the barbecue grill so that you can more easily take off the food to turn it over. Before putting the food on the grill, heat up the appliance for about 5-10 minutes at full power. The barbecue time is different and it depends on the kind and nature of the corresponding food. Always use the appliance with the included reflector pan. Thermostat: Due to the infinitely variable thermostat controller you can set the barbecue temperature from “min” to “max” and it will then be maintained automatically at a constant level. Control lamp: As soon as the appliance is connected to electric supply, the control lamp will be illuminated. After use switch off the appliance (turn the switch of the control thermostat anti clockwise to the position Minimum) and plug off the plug.
