How to use the Tomado TM1980 deep fryer?
Place the deep fryer on a stable surface. Fill with oil between the min and max levels. Plug in, press the On/Off button and set the desired temperature. Wait until the green light turns on (preheating 7-8 min). Place food in the basket, lower it gently. Set the timer if desired. Once cooked, lift the basket and drain. Turn off and unplug after cooling.
How much oil should I use?
Pour the oil until it is between the minimum level and maximum level marks indicated on the inside of the tank. Do not exceed the maximum to avoid overflow.
How to adjust the temperature?
Turn the temperature selector knob to the desired value (130 to 190 °C). Refer to the temperature table in the manual or on the food packaging. The green light turns off and then on again when the temperature is reached.
What to do if the deep fryer does not heat up?
Check that the appliance is plugged in and the On/Off button is pressed. If the thermal cut-out has tripped (overheating), unplug, let it cool completely, then press the RESET button located behind the right heating element with a pointed object.
How to clean the deep fryer?
Let it cool and unplug. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and dry. The basket and handle can be washed with soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly. Never immerse the housing. Dishwasher is not recommended.
Can I put the basket in the dishwasher?
No, dishwasher washing is not recommended as it may damage the coating. Hand wash with a soft sponge and dish soap.
How to replace the oil?
Make sure the oil is completely cooled. Unplug the appliance. Empty the used oil (do not pour down the drain). Clean the inside with paper towels then a soapy cloth. Replace the oil every 10 frying cycles or if it becomes dark or smells bad.
What does the green light mean?
The green light turns on when the set temperature is reached. It turns off during heating and turns on again when the temperature is stable. Only put food in when the green light is on.
How to reset after overheating?
Unplug the deep fryer and let it cool completely. Remove the cold heating elements with the control unit. Locate the small recess behind the right heating element and press the RESET button with a pointed object (paper clip). Reassemble and use normally.
