Carefully read all instructions before operating the unit and save them for future reference. By carefully following these instructions you can considerably prolong the service life of your appliance.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

• Manufacturer is not responsible for injuries caused by failure to comply with the safety requirements and operation rules of the appliance.
• This appliance is intended to be used for nonindustrial use in house hold and similar spheres of application: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments. Industrial application or any other misuse will be regarded as violation of proper service conditions. Should this happen, manufacturer is not responsible for possible consequences.
• Before plugging in the appliance ensure that the circuit voltage matches the operating voltage of the appliance (see technical specifications or manufacturer's plate on the appliance).
• Use an extension cord designed for power consumption of the appliance as the parameter mismatch may result in a short circuit or fire outbreak.

REDMOND

• Use only earthed electric sockets as this is an obligatory safety requirement. Use an earthed extension cord as well.
• Unplug the appliance after use, while cleaning or moving. Remove the power cord with dry hands holding it by the plug, not cord.

STOP

CAUTION! Appliance runs hot while operating. Do not touch the housing while the kettle is operating. Do not lean over the appliance when the lid is on to avoid scalds.

• Use the appliance for its intended purpose only. Otherwise it will be considered as misuse.
• Kettle may be used only with a specially designed base (included).
• Do not place the cord in doorframes or by heat sources. Do not twist or bend the power cord, ensure that it is not in contact with sharp objects, corners and edges of furniture.

STOP

Accidental damage to the power cord may cause electric shock or breakdown not covered by the terms of warranty. Promptly contact a service centre to have

the damaged power cord replaced. Do not place the appliance on soft, unstable surface.

• Do not put a kettle on soft, temperature-sensitive surface, do not cover the appliance while it is in operation as may result in a fault or breakdown.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors as ingress of moisture or foreign objects inside the housing can result in damage.
• Before cleaning the appliance ensure that it is unplugged and has cooled down. Follow the instructions while cleaning the device.

DO NOT immerse the appliance in water or keep in running water!

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Keep packaging (film, foam plastic and other) out of reach of children as they may choke on them.
• Do not repair the appliance or make changes to its design. All service and repair works should be performed by an authorized service centre. Unprofessional repairs may result in breakdown, injury or damage to property.

CAUTION! Do not use the appliance in case any breakdown has been noticed.

I. PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Carefully take the appliance and its detachable parts out of the package. Remove all wrapping material and stickers except for the serial number identification sticker.

No serial number identification sticker on the appliance automatically disables the user's right to aftersale service.

Wipe the base of the appliance with a damp cloth, then let dry. You may notice foreign smell when first using the appliance, this does not mean its malfunction.

After the appliance transportation or storage at low temperature keep it at room temperature for at least two hours before plugging in.

You are advised to boil water in the kettle a few times before use to get foreign smell out and disinfect the appliance.

II. OPERATION

Preparation

1. Fix the kettle with the base to the solid even dry horizontal surface. Make sure the outgoing vapour during boiling does not fall on wallpaper, decorative coats, electric units and other items, which can be damaged by humidity and high temperature.
2. Unwind the power cord to the desired length. Put the excessive part into the recess at the bottom of the stand. Use the extender of appropriate capacity if necessary (no less than 2.5 kW).
3. Lift the kettle off the base. Press the opening button on the appliance lever.
4. Pour water into the kettle. Water level should be between minimum and maximum levels on the inner surface of the appliance frame. If the kettle is overfilled it could cause boil-over. The unit will turn off prematurely in case of water shortage.

ATTENTION! The unit is meant only for water heating and boiling.

1. Firmly close the kettle lid and fix it to the base. The unit will work only if it is fixed correctly.
2. Plug in the kettle.

Water boiling

1. Press the «0/I» button. A short audible signal will be heard, and the process of water heating will start. Button illumination will light up solid during the operation.
2. The appliance will be automatically turned off after boiling.
3. To interrupt the heating process lift the «0/1» button.

The settings are saved if the kettle is lifted off the base during operation. The appliance operation will be restarted automatically after returning the kettle to the base.

Safety system

• The kettle is supplied with an automatic shut-off system upon boiling.
• In case of water shortage the automatic overheat protection will turn off the kettle. Wait till the appliance is cooled, thereafter it will be ready for operation.

III. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool before cleaning.

DO NOT USE solvents (petrol, acetone, etc.), abrasive cleansers, and abrasive coated sponges while cleaning.

ATTENTION! Before repeated usage make sure that the electrical contacts are kept dry!

Base and body cleaning

Clean the kettle body and base with a soft cloth. Dry the kettle before operation.

ATTENTION! Never immerse the kettle, the base, the power cord or the socket in water: the electrical contacts should not contact with water.

Descaling

During operation, depending on the composition of usable water, oxide spots and scale can appear on the heating element and inner walls of the appliance. To remove it use special nonabrasive cleansers for scale cleaning and removal from kitchen appliances.

1. Pour water into the kettle 3/4 from maximum capacity and bring to a boil.
2. After the kettle turns off, add eight percent acetic acid solution to the maximum level on the inner surface of the body.
3. Leave this solution inside the kettle for several hours.
4. Empty the kettle and rinse properly.
5. Fill the kettle with clean water up to the maximum level on the inner surface of the body and bring it to boil.
6. Empty the kettle and rinse it again. If scale still remains, repeat the procedure mentioned above.

You can also use special means for descaling. Follow manufacturer's instructions in this case.

Removable scale filter cleansing

1. Open the lid. Remove the filter pulling it upward.
2. Rinse the filter. You can use a dishwashing solution.
3. Place the filter into the kettle with the projection to the centre.

IV. BEFORE CONTACTING SERVICE CENTRE

V. PRODUCT WARRANTY

We warrant this product to be free from defects for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. If the appliance fails to operate properly within the warranty period and is found to be defective in material or workmanship, we will repair or replace it free of charge. This warranty comes into force only in case an original warranty service coupon with a serial article number and an accurate impress of the company of the seller proves the purchase date. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by the failure to use this product for its normal purpose or in accordance with the instructions on the proper use and maintenance of the product, or any kind of repair works. Do not try to disassemble the appliance and keep all package contents. This warranty does not cover normal wear of the appliance and its parts (filters, bulbs, non-stick coating, gaskets, etc.).

Service life and the applicable product warranty period start on the date of purchase or the date of manufacture (if the purchase date cannot be established).

You can determine manufacture date by serial number, located on the identification label on the housing of the appliance. The serial number consists of 13 digits. 6th and 7th digits of the serial number identify the month, 8th digit the year of manufacture.

Service life of the product, established by the manufacturer is 3 years from the date of purchase, provided that the appliance is used and maintained in accordance with the user manual and applicable technical standards.

Environmentally friendly disposal (WEEE)

The packaging, user manual and the device itself shall be taken to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Do not throw away the electronic waste to help protect the environment.

Old appliances must not be disposed with other household waste but must be collected separately. Municipal disposal of recyclable wastes is free of charge. The owners of old appliances are required to bring it to a waste facility centre. With this little extra effort, you can help to ensure that valuable raw materials are recycled and pollutants are treated as appropriate.

This appliance is labelled in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU – concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment WEEE).

The guideline determines the framework for the return and recycling of used appliances as applicable throughout the EU.
