By carefully following these instructions you can considerably prolong the service life of your appliance. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
- Manufacturer is not responsible for injuries caused by failure to comply with the safety requirements and operation rules of the appliance.
- This appliance is intended to be used for nonindustrial use in house hold and similar spheres of application: staff kitchen areas in shops, ofces and other work ing environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential envi ronments. Industrial application or any other misuse will be regarded as violation of proper service conditions. Should this happen, man- ufacturer is not responsible for possible consequences.
- Before plugging in the appliance ensure that the circuit voltage matches the operating voltage of the appliance (see technical specications or manufac- turer’s plate on the appliance).
- Use an extension cord designed for power consumption of the appliance as the parameter mismatch may result in a short circuit or re outbreak.4
- Use only earthed electric sockets as this is an obligatory safety requirement. Use an earthed extension cord as well.
- Unplug the appliance after use, while cleaning or moving. Remove the power cord with dry hands holding it by the plug, not cord. CAUTION! Appliance runs hot while operating. Do not touch the housing while the kettle is operating. Do not lean over the appliance when the lid is on to avoid scalds.
- Use the appliance for its intended purpose only. Otherwise it will be consid- ered as misuse.
- Kettle may be used only with a specially designed base (included).
- Do not place the cord in doorframes or by heat sources. Do not twist or bend the power cord, ensure that it is not in contact with sharp objects, corners and edges of furniture. Accidental damage to the power cord may cause electric shock or breakdown not covered by the terms of warranty. Promptly contact a service centre to have5 RK-M142-E GBR the damaged power cord replaced. Do not place the appliance on soft, unstable surface.
- Do not put a kettle on soft, temperature-sensitive surface, do not cover the appliance while it is in operation as may result in a fault or breakdown.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors as ingress of moisture or foreign objects inside the housing can result in damage.
Before cleaning the appliance ensure that it is unplugged and has cooled down. Follow the instructions while cleaning the device. DO NOT immerse the appliance in water or keep in running water!
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of ex- perience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user6 maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Keep packaging (lm, foam plastic and other) out of reach of children as they may choke on them.
Carefully take the appliance and its detachable parts out of the package. Wipe the base of the appliance with a damp cloth, then let dry. You may notice foreign smell when rst using the appliance, this does not mean its malfunction. After the appliance transportation or storage at low temperature keep it at room temperature for at least two hours before plugging in. You are advised to boil water in the kettle a few times before use to get foreign smell out and disinfect the appliance.
Fix the kettle with the base to the solid even dry horizontal surface. Make sure the outgoing vapour during boiling does not fall on wallpaper, decorative coats, electric units and other items, which can be damaged by humidity and high temperature.
2. Unwind the power cord to the desired length. Put the excessive part into
the recess at the bottom of the stand. Use the extender of appropriate capacity if necessary (no less than 2.5 kW).
3. Lift the kettle off the base. Press the opening button on the appliance
4. Pour water into the kettle. Water level should be between minimum and
maximum levels on the inner surface of the appliance frame. If the kettle is overlled it could cause boil-over. The unit will turn off prematurely in case of water shortage. ATTENTION! The unit is meant only for water heating and boiling.

III. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool before cleaning. DO NOT USE solvents (petrol, acetone, etc.), abrasive cleansers, and abrasive coated sponges while cleaning. ATTENTION! Before repeated usage make sure that the electrical contacts are kept dry! Base and body cleaning Clean the kettle body and base with a soft cloth. Dry the kettle before operation. ATTENTION! Never immerse the kettle, the base, the power cord or the socket in water: the electrical contacts should not contact with water. Descaling During operation, depending on the composition of usable water, oxide spots and scale can appear on the heating element and inner walls of the appliance. To remove it use special nonabrasive cleansers for scale cleaning and removal from kitchen appliances.
1. Pour water into the kettle ¾ from maximum capacity and bring to a boil.
2. After the kettle turns off, add eight percent acetic acid solution to the
maximum level on the inner surface of the body.
3. Leave this solution inside the kettle for several hours.
4. Empty the kettle and rinse properly.
5. Fill the kettle with clean water up to the maximum level on the inner
surface of the body and bring it to boil.
Empty the kettle and rinse it again. If scale still remains, repeat the procedure mentioned above. You can also use special means for descaling. Follow manufacturer’s instructions in this case. Removable scale lter cleansing
1. Open the lid. Remove the lter pulling it upward.
2. Rinse the lter. You can use a dishwashing solution.
3. Place the lter into the kettle with the projection to the centre.8

The serial number consists of 13 digits. 6th and 7th digits of the serial number identify the month, 8th digit the year of manufacture. Service life of the product, established by the manufacturer is 3 years from the date of purchase, provided that the appliance is used and maintained in ac- cordance with the user manual and applicable technical standards. Environmentally friendly disposal (WEEE) The packaging, user manual and the device itself shall be taken to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Do not throw away the electronic waste to help protect the environment. Old appliances must not be disposed with other household waste but must be collected separately. Municipal disposal of recyclable wastes is free of charge. The owners of old appliances are required to bring it to a waste facil- ity centre. With this little extra effort, you can help to ensure that valuable raw materials are recycled and pollutants are treated as appropriate.
