General Safety Instructions

WARNING:
- Bread can burn. Therefore never use the appliance near or below combustible materials such as curtains.

During operation the temperature of the exposed surface may be very hot. A risk of burning exists when removing smaller slices of bread.

Intended use
This appliance is designed to toast slices of bread and rolls by using the toasting attachment.
It is intended for domestic use and use of similar areas. It may only be used in the manner described in this instruction manual. The appliance may not be used for commercial purposes.
Any other use is considered as not intended and may lead to damage of property or even to personal injury.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage which may occur through incorrect use.

Unpacking the appliance
- Remove the packaging of the appliance.
- Remove all packaging material such as plastic film, filler material, cable ties and box packaging.
- Check that all the parts are in the box.
i NOTE:
There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. We recommend that you clean the appliance as described under "Cleaning".
Instructions
Before Initial Use

CAUTION:
In order to remove the protective layer on the heating coil you should operate the machine approximately three times when it is empty. Please select the maximum level of browning.
i NOTE:
Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.
Mains Lead
Unwind the required mains lead from the base.
Operation
-
Only connect the unit to a properly installed and earthed power socket (220 - 240 V~, 50 Hz).
Use the+ buttons to select one of the 6 settings. The setting and a time between 1:20 and 4:40 minutes will appear on the display. -
Insert the slices of bread in the toasting slot and lower the slide with the lever until it snaps into place. The time is counted down.
- The appliance starts the toasting. When the set level of browning is reached, the appliance switches off automatically. The slide pops up automatically.
WARNING:
A risk of burning exists when removing smaller slices of bread.

To make it easier to remove the toast, please lift the carriage lever slightly (lifting function).
If the toaster is still hot, the browning times are automatically reduced so that the bread does not burn.
Special Functions
To use the desired function, please press the relevant button before pushing the lever down.

The "Warming" and "Defrost" buttons are shown on the display.

Removable toasting attachment
For the toasting of bread rolls.
- Place the roasting attachment on the roasting shaft.
WARNING:
- Do not overload the roasting attachment!
Only one roll or piece of bread of comparable weight should be placed on top.
Under no circumstances should you spread fat or better on the bread or roll. Fat may drip down and catch fire!
Storage
WARNING:
As the housing and the metal parts become hot during operation, please allow the device to cool down before putting it away.
- Clean the device as described and allow to dry completely. We recommend that you keep the appliance in the original packaging if the appliance will be not used for long periods.
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in a dry, well ventilated place.
Mains Cable Take-up Device
The mains cable can be wound up on the base.
Cleaning
WARNING:
- Before cleaning, always remove the mains plug and wait until the device has cooled down.
- Do not immerse the device in water. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.
CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
Housing
Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit.
Crumb Tray
The crumb tray is located on the back of the appliance.
Pull out the crumb tray
- Remove the bread residues and push the drawer back in.
