How to start the Bomann SM 1916 CB blender?

Make sure the device is plugged into a 230 V outlet. Place the blender in the bowl (do not exceed the MAX mark). Press the I button (minimum speed) or the II button (maximum speed) to start. For the Pulse function, press intermittently.

What foods can I chop with this blender?

This blender is designed to chop small quantities of soft foods (cooked fruits, cooked vegetables) or hard foods (raw carrots, nuts). Never chop ice cubes, nutmeg, or large pieces of chocolate to avoid damaging the knife.

How to clean the bowl and lid?

Unplug the appliance. Wash the bowl and lid with soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Never immerse the motor unit in water; wipe it with a damp cloth then dry.

What is the maximum bowl capacity?

The maximum capacity is 0.7 liters. Do not exceed the MAX mark to avoid overflow.

Can I use the blender continuously?

No. Use it for a maximum of 2 minutes for soft foods and 1 minute for hard foods. Let the appliance cool for about 3 minutes before using again.

General Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
• Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as there is a danger of suffocation!

• To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.

Special Safety Instructions

• Make sure that the motor casing is not wet.
• Pay attention to the slowing down of the motor after shutting off.

• The appliance is designed for the mashing and mixing of food and drinks and for chopping together with the multi-chopper.

• Short-time operating: use the device for no longer than 2 minutes with soft foods and no longer than 1 minute with hard foods. Leave the device to cool down for at least 3 minutes before using again.

• Caution: The blade of the bar mixer is very sharp! It should therefore be handled with extreme caution! DANGER OF INJURY!
• The appliance is designed to process only small quantities of food! Fill the container with the maximum quantities specified in the table!
• Do not put hard foods such as ice cubes, nutmeg or large pieces of chocolate into the container! The blade can be damaged!

Before Use

• Take out all the parts carefully out of the packing. Save the packing and the inner packing material for the whole duration of the warranty.
• Clean the device before using it for the first time as described in „Cleaning and Maintenance“. Caution: The blade of the bar mixer is very sharp! Danger of injury!

Using the Device

1. Place the hand-held mixer on the motor housing. Now turn the mixer until the / marks are aligned with one another.
2. Fill the food to be mixed into the mixing bowl (max. 0.7 litres). Immerse the mixing bar fully, but only up to the MAX mark.
3. Please hold the device in such a way that you can operate pushbutton I or pushbutton II with your fingers.

Pushbutton I: This switches on the minimum speed and cannot be regulated.

Pushbutton II: This provides the maximum speed and cannot be regulated.

1. Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230V / 50Hz
2. Press one of the buttons.
3. Pulsed mode is switched on by pressing the appropriate pushbutton at intervals and then releasing it again.
4. The device switches itself off when the button is released.
5. To release the bar mixer please turn it in the opposite direction.
6. Pull out the plug from the socket after use. Clean and put the device away as described in „Cleaning and Maintenance".
7. Note: Attach the cover under the base so that the shaker is stable.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning!
• Clean the mixing vessel and lid with ordinary water or with soapy water.
• The device must never be immersed in water!
• In order to clean the mixing rod fi ll the mixing bowl with water and operate the mixing rod as described under „Using the Device“. Then dry the mixing rod thoroughly. Caution: The blade of the bar mixer is very sharp! Danger of injury!
• Rub the outside of the motor casing with a moist towel to clean it when necessary and then wipe it with a dry cloth.
• Hang the device up by the suspension eye.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.

Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid!

The guarantee lapses in case of unauthorized tampering.
