How to open the KeyGarage 797?

Opening is done either via the ABUS HomeTec Pro app by connecting your smartphone via Bluetooth, or by entering a generated PIN code on the integrated keypad. Refer to the manual for detailed procedure.

How to set up the ABUS HomeTec Pro app?

Download the free app from the App Store or Google Play. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, open the app and follow the instructions. Scan the provided key card to pair the KeyGarage.

What if I forget my password?

You can reset the KeyGarage by scanning the QR code again with the app. Keep the provided key card safe, as it allows you to reassign the device.

How to change the batteries?

Loosen the screw on the bottom, remove the protective flap, replace the 2 AA batteries (1.5 V) observing polarity, then put the flap back and tighten the screw. An orange indicator signals low batteries.

What does the orange LED flashing mean?

The orange indicator indicates a low battery warning (LowBatt Warning). It appears before each locking/unlocking until the batteries are replaced.

Can the KeyGarage 797 be used outdoors?

Yes, but with precautions. It should not be used flat in unprotected outdoor areas. Mount it vertically on a wall, preferably sheltered from direct rain. The silicone sealing caps should be installed after mounting.

How to mount the KeyGarage on the wall?

Open the KeyGarage, place it vertically at the desired location, mark the holes with a spirit level, drill and insert wall plugs. Screw the KeyGarage, then close the compartment. For the 797 model, use the supplied bracket.

What is the Bluetooth range?

The typical range of Bluetooth 4.0 LE is about 10 meters in open space, but may vary depending on obstacles and environment.

How to reset the KeyGarage?

To set up your smart KeyGarageTM for the first time, you will need a Bluetooth®-enabled smartphone (Bluetooth 4.0 LE or higher), a currently supported iOS or Android software version and the free ABUS HomeTec Pro app for iOS or Android.

The smart KeyGarage™ can be operated using either the ABUS HomeTec Pro app or the keypad with an automatically generated code.

The contents of this installation and operating manual reflect the current status at the time of printing. The printed manual may be outdated at the time of the product's entry into service due to updates and further developments.

• Only open the key compartment of the KeyGarage™, never the housing with the electronic unit.
• For 797 Smart-BT: When changing the shackle of the smart KeyGarage™, make sure that the lock does not fall down.
• Make sure that the smart KeyGarage™ is always properly locked.
• The smart KeyGarage™ must not be operated lying down in unprotected outdoor areas: penetrating moisture can damage the electronic unit or objects in the key compartment.
• When dismantling the shackle, put on the silicone sealing plugs so that no moisture can get into the smart KeyGarage™.
• The product may only be used for its intended purpose. Any modification to the product is prohibited.

• To program the smart KeyGarage™, start by pressing the button „Add HomeTec Pro / component".
• It is imperative to keep the ABUS keycard(s) in a safe place even after completing the setup! If you forget your password, you can reset and reassign it by scanning the QR code. Do not give the card to third parties.

To guarantee proper function, we expressly recommend performing updates in the app and software/firmware updates for HomeTec Pro components in a timely manner. The app will provide

information on this. You can also perform the respective update in the component's settings.
