How to replace the batteries in the Braun PT5010?

Make sure the device is off. Remove the battery compartment cover (4) by pulling it downwards. Insert a AAA 1.5 V battery, respecting the indicated (+) and (-) polarities. Close the compartment. For optimal performance, use an alkaline battery (type LR03, AM4, AAA).

How to clean the cutting head?

Turn off the device. Remove the blade assembly (2) by turning it 90° counterclockwise and pulling upward. Rinse the blade assembly under running water. Make sure it is completely dry before reassembling. Lubricate the cutting part with a drop of light oil once or twice a year.

What types of batteries to use and how to insert them?

Use a AAA 1.5 V battery. For optimal performance, prefer an alkaline battery (LR03, AM4, AAA). Insert it respecting the polarities in the compartment under the cover. Do not mix new and used batteries, nor different types.

How to use the trimming combs?

Make sure the device is off before adding a comb. Start with the longest comb. Snap it onto the cutting system until it clicks. Turn on the device and comb the hair against the grain, guiding one side of the comb against the skin.

Is the device waterproof?

The device is not waterproof. Keep it dry. Only the removable blade assembly can be rinsed under running water. Never immerse the device in water.

Can I use the device on irritated skin?

No, do not use the device on irritated or injured skin. Use it only on healthy skin.

What to do if the batteries leak?

Avoid any contact with skin. If batteries leak, remove them immediately, using gloves if possible. Clean the compartment with a dry cloth. Dispose of batteries according to regulations.

How to maintain the device for a long lifespan?

Clean the blade assembly regularly under running water and dry it well. Lubricate the blades once or twice a year. Replace the battery if necessary. Store the device with the protective cap in a dry place.

Is the device suitable for children?

The device can be used by children aged 8 and above under adult supervision. Cleaning and maintenance must not be done by children under 8. Children must not play with the device.

What does the Braun PT5010 warranty cover?

Warning

Keep the appliance dry.

Do not use the appliance on irritated skin.

Never use the appliance if the cutting head is damaged or broken.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.

Batteries

This appliance operates with one AAA 1.5 V battery. For best performance, use an alkaline manganese battery (type LR03, AM4, AAA).

Batteries may leak if empty or not used for a longer time. In order to protect you and the appliance, remove and replace exhausted batteries in a timely manner. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. Do not mix new and used batteries or different battery types. Insert batteries with correct polarity.

Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the appliance before being charged. Avoid skin contact whilst handling leaking batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

Keep batteries away from children and pets. If swallowed, consult a physician at once.

Replacing the batteries

Make sure the appliance is turned off.

Remove the battery compartment cover (4) by pulling downwards (a).

Insert the battery with the (+) and (-) poles in the direction marked.

Close the battery compartment.

Using the appliance

This appliance is perfectly suited for closely and safely removing any unwanted hair on body and face (e.g. neck, back, eye brows).

Slide the on/off switch (3) up to turn the appliance on.

Place the cutting head (2) against the hair to be removed and guide it slowly against the direction of hair growth. For optimum results, pull the skin taut with one hand while using.

The appliance comes with two trimming combs in different lengths for trimming hair to a uniform length (e.g. eyebrow shaping):

• short trimming comb (6): 5 ~mm / 1 / 5
• long trimming comb (7): 8mm / 1/3

Ensure that the appliance is turned off before attaching a trimming comb. We recommend that you start with the long trimming comb. Slide it over the cutting head (2) until it clicks into place.

Turn on the appliance and gently comb your eyebrow against the direction of hair growth as shown in (b). Ensure that either one of the comb sides is guided flat against the skin.

Cleaning and maintenance

Always turn off the appliance before cleaning.

Remove the cutting head (2) by turning counterclockwise 90^ and then lifting it up (c).

You can rinse the detached cutting head under warm running water.

Please ensure that the cutting head is complete dry before attaching it.

For storage, the stand (5) can be used. Attach the protective cap (1) to the cutting head (2).

We recommend lubricating the blade with a drop of light machine oil twice a year or after cleaning with water.
