How to use the Bomann CB 113 coffee maker ?

Open the water tank lid, pour cold water according to the number of cups. Place a paper filter size 1x2 in the filter holder, add ground coffee. Close the filter holder, place the carafe on the warming plate, then press the switch to the On / 1 position.

How to clean the machine ?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Clean the exterior with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive detergent or immerse the appliance in water. The filter holder and carafe can be washed with water.

When and how to descale the machine ?

Descale when the coffee brewing time increases significantly. Use a descaling product based on citric acid. Follow the descaling instructions and rinse several times with clean water.

What type of filter to use ?

Use paper filters size 1x2. This size fits the filter holder of the appliance.

What to do if the coffee drips slowly ?

The slowdown indicates that descaling is needed. Perform descaling with a citric acid-based product. If the problem persists, check that the filter is not clogged.

What are the important safety instructions ?

Never immerse the appliance, do not use with wet hands, unplug after use, keep out of reach of children, do not repair yourself. Beware of burns: warming plate and carafe become hot.

General safety instructions

• Before commissioning this device please read the instruction manual carefully.
• Please keep these instructions, the guaranty certificate, the sales receipt and, if possible, the carton with the inner packaging!
  • The device is intended exclusively for private and not for commercial use!
  • Always remove the plug from the socket whenever the device is not in use, when attaching accessory parts, cleaning the device or whenever a disturbance occurs. Switch off the device beforehand. Pull on the plug, not on the cable.
• In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them unsupervised with the device. Consequently, when selecting the location for your device, do so in such a way that children do not have access to the device. Take care to ensure that the cable does not hang down.
• Test the device and the cable regularly for damage. If there is damage of any kind, the device should not be used.
• Do not repair the device yourself, but rather consult an authorised expert.
• For safety reasons a broken or damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an equivalent lead from the manufacturer, our customer service department or a similar qualified person.

Special Safety Measures for this Machine

- Only fill the water tank with cold water!

- Never rinse out the filter during boiling. Never open the water tank lid while boiling water as this could lead to scalding.

• The hot plate and the coffee pot become very hot. DANGER OF SCALDING!

First Use of the Machine

• Before making coffee in the machine for the first time rinse two to three times with cold water in order to clean the machine.
• Clean the filter pad and the glass pot by rinsing.

Electrical Connection

• Make sure that the machine is switched off (operating switch on "OFF").
• Before inserting the mains lead into the socket, check whether the voltage you intend to use complies with that of the machine. For details see the machine label.
• Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230 V/50 Hz.

Operation

1. Pull the lid of the water tank forwards. Fill the machine to the number of cups required with cold water.
2. Swing the filter out to the right. Insert a filter (size 1 x 2) into the filter funnel and fill it with coffee powder. Then close the filter holder until it locks in place.
3. Place the pot on the hot plate and close the lid of the water tank.
4. Turn the switch to position "ON/1". The coffee will begin to percolate. After percolation you may remove the pot.
5. If you would like to keep the remaining coffee warm, the switch must remain in position "ON/1". The hotplate will keep the coffee warm until the switch is moved to the "OFF/0" position. The machine is then switched off.

Descaling

Descaling is necessary when the time needed to prepare coffee becomes considerably longer.

Only commercially available descaling products based on citric acid should be used.

Cleaning

Before cleaning the machine you should always remove the mains lead and wait until the machine has cooled down. The machine should only be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use any strong detergents or solvents for cleaning. The coffee pot and the filter pad should be cleaned by rinsing in cold water.

This appliance conforms with the CE directives for radio interference suppression and low-voltage safety and has been built to meet current safety requirements. Subject to technical changes without prior notice!

Guarantee

We undertake to guarantee the appliance sold by our company for 24 months as of the date of purchase (cash receipt).

During the life of the warranty we shall provide for the repair or replacement of the appliance owing to material or manufacturing defects absolutely free of charge.

Proof for the warranty is provided by the purchase document. The replacement and repair will not be performed free of charge without this proof of purchase.

Should the warranty be valid, please consign the complete appliance in its original packing together with the cash receipt to your local dealer.

You are not entitled to the replacement of the appliance owing to broken glass parts and faulty accessories. However, said parts will be replaced free of charge. In this case only the faulty accessory needs to be ordered without sending back the whole appliance!

The cleaning, servicing and replacement of wear parts are not covered by this warranty and hence are to be paid for.

The warranty is terminated in case of handling on the part of Third parties.

After the warranty

Once the warranty has expired, repairs can be carried out by specialized technicians or repair services against the payment of the service.
