How to listen to the radio?

Set the function selector (6) to TUNER. The power indicator lights up. Choose the band (AM/FM/FM ST) with the band selector (7). Use the tuning selector (10) to find your station. Adjust the volume (9) to your liking.

How to play a vinyl record?

Open the cover. Set the function selector (6) to PHONO. Place the record on the turntable, use the 45 RPM adapter if necessary. Select the speed (33 or 45 RPM) with button (14). Release the tonearm from its clip and remove the protective cap. Lift the arm using the tonearm lift lever (13), position it at the beginning of the record, then lower it gently.

What to do if the sound is weak or of poor quality?

Check the volume (9). For radio, try reorienting the FM antenna (cable at the rear) or the unit itself for MW reception. If playing a record, clean the stylus with a soft cloth. Set the FM ST selector to Mono if the stereo signal is noisy.

How to connect the turntable to a hi-fi system?

Use the line output (LINE OUT) (16) at the rear of the unit. Connect it to the auxiliary input of your hi-fi system using an RCA cable (not supplied). Then set the function selector to PHONO.

How to maintain the unit?

Unplug the unit before any cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe surfaces. Never use abrasive products or solvents. Protect the unit from moisture and dust.

What does the FM stereo indicator mean?

The FM stereo indicator (11) lights up when you receive an FM station in stereo and the band selector (7) is set to FM ST. If the signal is weak, switch to Mono to reduce noise.

How to use the 45 RPM adapter?

Place the EP adapter (12) on the center spindle of the turntable before placing a 45 RPM record (17 cm). Make sure the record is centered. Select the 45 RPM speed with button (14).

How to stop playing a record?

To stop manually, lift the tonearm using the lever (13) and return it to its rest. The Auto Stop function (18) automatically stops the turntable at the end of the record if activated (ON position).

The radio reception is poor, what should I do?

For FM, extend and orient the FM antenna cable (17) at the rear for better reception. For medium wave (MW), rotate the entire unit as the ferrite antenna is directional. Keep the unit away from sources of interference.

Can I use headphones with this system?

Yes, the unit is equipped with a headphone jack (4) on the front panel. Connect your headphones (3.5 mm jack). The speakers are then muted automatically.

CONNECTING TO POWER

Before switching on make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate.

For your own safety read the following instructions carefully before attempting to connect this unit to the mains.

Remove the stereo carefully from the box, retaining the packaging for future use.

AC POWEROPERATION

Connect the plug to a mains power inlet 230V AC \~ 50 Hz.

MW/FM TUNER

Operation

• Set the Function Selector (6) to the TUNER position.
The red Power Indicator (5) will light up.
- Select the desired frequency band with the Band Selector (7).
- Tune to the desired radio station by turning the Tuning control (10).
• To switch off the radio set the Function Selector (6) to the OFF position.

ANTENNA

• For FM reception there is a built-in FM antenna wire (17) at the rear of the unit. Move the wire around to obtain the best reception.
• For MW reception the signals are picked up through a built-in ferrite antenna. Your may have to orient the unit to obtain the best reception.

FM& FM-STEREO RECEPTION

• Stereo reception is possible when the tuned FM station is broadcasting in stereo.
• When in FM STereo mode and the station is broadcasting in Stereo, the STEREO indicator (11) lights up.

- When FM stations are weak and are disturbed, listening can be improved by switching the Band selector to FM (Mono)(7). Reception will then be in MONO.

TURNTABLE OPERATION

Preparation

Open the Record Player Cover.

Release the Tonearm Clamp, and remove the stylus protector.

Listening to Records

1. Set the Function Selector (6) to the PHONO position.
2. Place a record on the turntable, over the central spindle. Place the EP adapter over the central spindle when playing 17cm EP records.
3. Set the Speed Selector (14) to 33 or 45 rpm according to the record.
4. Release the tonearm clamp, and remove the protective cap from the stylus.
5. Lift the Tonearm with the Tonearm Lift Lever (13).
6. Move the tonearm to the beginning of the record, or to the start of a particular track.
7. Gently lower the tone arm onto the record with the Tonearm Lift lever to start playing.
8. When the record is finished the tonearm will automatically stop. Lift the tonearm from the record and return it to the rest.
9. To stop manually, lift the tonearm from the record and return it to the rest.
10. To select Auto Stop mode, move the Auto Stop Switch (18) to ON position.

Notes: Do not stop or turn the platter manually.

Moving or jarring the turntable without securing the Tonearm clamp could result in damage to the Tonearm.

Replace the protective cap on the stylus when not in use.

LINE-OUT FUNCTION

You can connect the system to external audio device (amplifier or active speakers) through the Line out RCA socket (16) with an RCA cable (not included).
