How to connect the Center Floor Stand I Compose to my Loewe TV?

Connect the subwoofer to the TV using the Audio Link 25-pin cable. Then, connect the center speaker to the subwoofer with the supplied speaker cable. Make sure all cables are securely fastened in the subwoofer's cable holder.

How to adjust the phase switch?

The phase switch (mark ⑦) optimizes bass reproduction. Have a person listen to a bass-rich passage from your listening position while you toggle the switch. Choose the position that gives the best bass perception.

What is the recommended crossover frequency for the Center Floor Stand?

The manual recommends setting the 'Crossover Frequency' control (mark ⑧) to 120 Hz for the Center Stand.

Can I rotate the TV once the speaker is installed?

Yes, you can manually rotate the TV and Center Floor Stand I Compose assembly ±45° to the side.

How to clean the speaker?

Clean it only with a soft, damp, clean cloth, without using any corrosive cleaning agents.

What to do if the sound is weak or distorted?

First check the cable connections. Make sure the subwoofer is turned on (ON/OFF switch to 'I'). Then adjust the bass level (mark ⑥) and crossover frequency to your liking. If the problem persists, refer to the full manual.

Can I use this speaker with a TV of another brand?

The Individual Sound system is designed for Loewe Flat TVs (from chassis L2700 onwards). Its use with other brands is not guaranteed. Refer to the TV manual for compatibility.

What settings should be made on the Loewe TV?

In the TV menu, register the new devices according to the 'Use of additional devices' section in your TV manual. Dolby Digital settings are also made via the menu.

How to fix the cables in the holder?

Open the cable clamp (mark ④) at the bottom of the subwoofer, pass all cables through it, then close it to hold them in place.

Is this speaker compatible with Dolby Digital?

Yes, the Individual Sound system can reproduce Dolby Digital sound. If your Loewe TV is equipped with a digital tuner (DVB), the digital surround signal is decoded and reproduced via this speaker system.

The Individual Sound loudspeaker system is designed for Loewe Flat TV sets.

The loudspeaker system can be individually extended from a simple stereo combination through a variant with four satellite loudspeakers and a center loudspeaker to the top quality solution with four standing loudspeakers. The subwoofer with integrated amp is also included respectively.

You can thus play DVDs in Dolby Digital cinema quality. You can also convert stereo broadcasts or playbacks (from a video recorder or DVD player) in Dolby ProLogic or Virtual or Circle Surround into a 5.1 surround signal and play it over the Individual Sound speaker system. If your TV set (from chassis L 2700 on) is equipped with a digital tuner (DVB), the received digital surround signal is decoded and played back over the Individual Sound system.

The Individual Sound speaker system switches on and off automatically with the Loewe Flat TV set.

The settings for Dolby Digital can be made comfortably with the menus of the Loewe Flat TV.

Cardboard box and packaging

You have opted for a durable and technically sophisticated product. In line with national regulations regarding the disposal of packaging materials, we pay a fee to authorised recyclers who collect packaging from dealers. However, we recommend that you keep the original cardboard box and the rest of the packaging materials so that the unit can, if necessary, be transported in the safest possible conditions.

The unit

Important: The EU Directive 2002/96/EG governs the proper re-acceptance, handling and recycling of used electronic appliances.

Old electronic appliances must therefore be disposed of separately. Never throw this set in the normal domestic waste. You can hand in your old set free of charge at identified collection points or at your dealer if you buy a similar new set. Other details about re-acceptance (also for non-EU countries) are available from your local administration.

Cleaning

Only clean your Individual Sound loudspeaker system with a damp, soft, clean cloth (without aggressive cleaning agents).

For your safety and to avoid unnecessary damage to your TV set, please read and observe the following safety instructions:

• Your Individual Sound loudspeaker system is designed exclusively for playing audio signals.
• You must switch off your system (Individual Sound loudspeaker system, TV and any other components which may be connected) before you can connect or disconnect other devices or loudspeakers.

Your Individual Sound loudspeaker system has been designed exclusively for private household use. Warranty services cover this use for the intended purpose.

WARNING: TO RULE OUT THE DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER (OR THE REAR PANEL OF THE UNIT). THERE ARE NO PARTS INSIDE THE HOUSING WHICH CAN BE REPAIRED BY THE USER. HAVE REPAIRS DONE ONLY BY YOUR LOEWE DEALER.

If you have moved your Individual Sound loudspeaker system out of the cold into a warm environment, leave it for about an hour because of the possible forming of condensation. Do not switch on until it has reached room temperature. This avoids seriously damaging the components.

Setting up

Basic information

• Place the Center Floor Stand I Compose on a firm, level base.
• Do not place the Center Floor Stand I Compose in the vicinity of intense sources of heat or in direct sunlight.
• The speaker generates magnetic dispersion fields which act in the vicinity of the housing. We recommend a minimum distance of >0.5m from magnetically sensitive equipment such as magnetic data media etc.

Suggestion for surround positioning solution

Connection

Mount the Audio Link cable with the 25-pin plug on the TV set and subwoofer.

Connect the loudspeakers and the TV Stand Compose as shown in the figure on the right.

Mount the IndividualCompose on the TV StandCompose as described in the enclosed installation instructions.

Secure all the cables in the clip

Open the cable clip ④ at the bottom of the subwoofer, lay all the cables in it and close the clip again. This fixes the cables.

Connecting the subwoofer to the mains

Plug the mains plug of the subwoofer into a 230 V AC socket.

Start-up and operation

Before beginning with start-up and operation, make sure that all the cables are connected correctly.

Switching the subwoofer on/off

You switch the Individual Sound loudspeaker system on in position "I-ON" with the ON/OFF switch ⑤.

If the subwoofer is connected as described on page 15, there is no need to switch the subwoofer on and off separately any more. After switching on the subwoofer for the first time, it is always switched on and off immediately with the Loewe TV set.

Settings on the Loewe TV set

Make the necessary settings on your Loewe Auro Preceiver as described in the Auro operating manual in the chapter "Initial start-up".

Phase switch/bass intensity

The "Phase" switch ⑦ and the "Bass intensity" knob ⑥ enable you to optimize bass reproduction.

We recommend you to proceed as follows:

• If the subwoofer is in the corner of the room, set the bass intensity knob to "Min".
• If the subwoofer is against a wall, set the bass intensity knob to the center position.
• If the subwoofer is standing freely in the room, set the bass intensity knob to "Max".
• Start DVD playback for example and select a title with bass parts.
• Have a second person activate the phase switch whilst you sit and listen.
• Decide for yourself which switch position reproduces the best bass sound.
• Set the bass intensity to suit your taste if necessary.

Setting the crossover frequency

The "Crossover Frequency" knob ⑧ gives you the possibility of setting the limit frequency for bass reproduction between 50Hz and 250Hz depending on which speakers you have connected. We recommend setting this to 120Hz for the Center Stand.

Cover on the subwoofer

After you have made the settings described in "Start-up and operation", replace the cover on the rear of the subwoofer.

Turning the TV set

The fully assembled unit of TV set and TV stand can be turned 45^ to either side by hand.
