Basic Safety Instructions
- The appliance is intended to be used in household only and similar environments like:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments,
- in farm houses,
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments on bed and breakfast type environments.
- Repairs of Cloer electronics appliances should be carried out only by the Cloer customer service. Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Moreover, this will void your warranty claims.
- Operate the appliance only at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage stated on the type plate is up to that of your power supply network.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer in order to avoid damage.
- Pull power plug of the power socket
- in case of a defect
- if the appliance is not used for a longer time
- before any cleaning.
- in the absence of supervision.
- before removing the lid or the grinding container.
- Only pull at the plug, never at the feed cable. Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges and do not tighten it too tight, do not use the feed cable for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate, for example).
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible of their safety.

This device must not be used by children. Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be carried out by children. The device and its connection cable must be kept away from children. Children must not play with the device. Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht im Freien.

Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Protect your appliance from humidity (splash water/ rain).

- Never immerse the device in water or other liquids. Do not pour any liquids into the device.
- CAUTION! The blades of the coffee grinder are sharp. Danger of injury!
- CAUTION! The Cloer coffee and spice grinder is only intended for grinding coffee beans, spices, cereals and nuts.
Before the first use
- Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time.
- Remove all packaging elements and stickers, but not the rating plate.
- Clean the coffee and spice grinder with a damp cloth.
- Place the grinder on a dry, slip-resistant and level surface.

The appliance meets the requirements of the applicable EC directives.

The appliance is designed for indoor domestic use only.

ATTENTION! Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.
General handling:
- Remove the lid and put the grinding material into the stainless steel container.
- Do not fill the device with coffee beans above the edge.
- Replace the lid on the device and make sure that the lid is correctly seated.


The coffee grinder is operated by the button on the lid by pressing a small switch underneath the lid. Never push this button with other objects than the lid switch.

- Insert the plug into the socket.
- Stabilize the device with one hand, and press the grinding button on the lid downwards.
- Let go of the button when the desired
grinding degree is achieved. You can check this through the transparent lid.
- Please do not exceed the maximum duration of 30 seconds.
After three 30 second intervals with short interruption (approx. 5-10 seconds) a longer pause (min. 3 minutes) should follow. -
Pull the plug.

Fill the stainless steel container with a maximum of 50g of grain.
- Please note that due to the different nature of the grain, the filling quantity may vary slightly from variety to variety.
- Grinding soy flakes, sunflower seeds and the like is also possible without problems.
Note
The coffee grinders are designed for short-term high performance and very high speed. Please stop the operation after 30 seconds and give the motor and other moving parts a short time to cool down.
Note
For harder grinding material (e.g. sugar cubes and nuts), hold down the start button in 5-second increments. The pauses between the steps should be approx. 5-10 seconds. The total grinding time should not exceed 30 seconds.

Do not remove the lid before the grinding blades have stopped moving. Danger of injury!
- Open the lid and turn the stainless steel container counterclockwise to remove it and take out the coffee powder.
- Replace the container by turning it clockwise.
- Wait at least 3 minutes until you use the device again. After using it three times, allow it to cool to room temperature to avoid overheating.
Grinding of coffee beans (approx. 70 g):
- Fill the stainless steel container with a maximum of 70g of coffee beans.
- You can regulate the grinding strength by the duration of the grinding process
- Test how long you have to grind to achieve the grinding degree for your favorite coffee.
Grinding of grains (approx. 50 g):
- Cereals such as oat flakes, spelt or rye can be easily processed in the grinder.
Grinding of spices (ca. 50 g):
- Fill the stainless steel container with a maximum of 50g .
Spices that are easy to grind are, for example: Mustard seeds, pepper, salt, bay leaves, chili, etc. - You can even crush sugar cubes in the Cloer grinder.
Grinding of nuts (approx. 20 g):
- Fill the stainless steel container only minimally.
- The knife inserts should be lightly covered with nuts.
Depending on the type of nut (e.g. walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cashew nuts, etc.), the gram numbers may vary. - Please note that depending on the oil content of the nuts, the ground material can easily become sticky.
- Grind the nuts at pulsating intervals, as described above.
Cleaning
- Pull the power plug prior to cleaning the device.
- Never immerse the base of the grinder
in water or other liquids.
- Wipe the blades, the stainless steel container and the outside of the device with a moist cloth to remove coffee residues.

Caution! The blades of the coffee grinder are sharp.
- If the grinding residues are stuck together, you can soak the grinding container with a little water.
- Allow the container to dry well before the next use, preferably overnight.
- Never place the base of the grinder and its accessories in the dishwasher.
- Clean the lid with soapy water, rinse it, and let it dry.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning sprays or scouring pads.
Environmentally friendly disposal
We use environmentally friendly packaging for the transport of our appliances. Please recycle cardboard/paper and plastic packaging appropriately.

ATTENTION! Electrical appliances should not be disposed of with the household trash.
Electrical appliances contain valuable raw materials. When an appliance is worn-out, please take it to a recognised recycling facility. Consult the local authorities for information on recycling appliances.
Warranty
Cloer electrical appliances are in conformity with the currently required EC-guidelines and safety regulations. If your Cloer electrical appliance has a defect or it does not work properly, contact your specialist dealer.
Registered clients have at their disposal our technical customer service.
Manufacturer warranty
Please register your appliances in the period of 6 months since the purchase in order to benefit from our manufacturer warranty. The published conditions of warranty in the moment of the registration are valid. You will find conditions of warranty and product registration here:
