Frequently Asked Questions - SRP 41051 HOOVER

What type of water should I use in the Hoover SRP 41051 steam generator?
Use tap water. If the water is very hard, mix 50% distilled water with 50% tap water. Never use pure distilled water, vinegar, perfume, or other additives, as this could damage the appliance.
How do I rinse the boiler to remove limescale?
Wait until the rinse indicator (1E) flashes or every two months. Turn off and unplug the appliance, allow it to cool for 2 hours. Remove the descaling plug, unscrew the valve with a coin, pour 0.2 L of tap water into the boiler, shake, and empty completely. Repeat twice. Screw the valve back on and replace the plug. Next time you power on, press the rinse indicator to reset.
What should I do if the empty tank indicator (1B) lights up?
This means there is no more water in the removable tank. Remove the tank by pressing the button (10), fill it with tap water without exceeding the maximum mark, then replace it. You can resume ironing immediately.
How do I use the vertical steam function?
Set the soleplate to maximum temperature (•••/Max) and select the Profound Care program on the Multi Steam Technology selector. Hang the garment, hold the iron vertically a few centimeters from the fabric and press the steam trigger while moving the iron up and down. Never direct steam towards people or animals.
Why does the appliance turn off automatically?
The automatic shut-off activates after 10 minutes of inactivity. A beep sounds and the indicator (1C) lights up. To reactivate, set the main switch (1A) to Off then On, wait for the steam ready indicator (1D) to turn off.
How to choose the right steam flow with Multi Steam Technology?
Use Diffuse Caresse for delicate fabrics (silk, cashmere): light steam sprayed on the side front. Use Precise Power for difficult areas (buttons, sleeves): concentrated jet towards the tip. Use Profound Care for thick fabrics (cotton, linen, jeans): powerful, deep, moist steam.
What should I do if the soleplate becomes brown or dirty?
Clean the soleplate with a non-metallic damp sponge. Never use detergents or chemicals. If the problem persists, contact Hoover after-sales service. To avoid soiling, do not add additives to the water and iron clean clothes.
Can I use the steam generator for dry ironing?
Yes, for domestic irons: select the desired temperature without pressing the steam trigger. For professional irons: turn on only the iron switch (1G) and adjust the temperature. Steam will not be produced.
How do I store the appliance after use?
Place the iron on the support mat, turn off and unplug the appliance, empty the water tank, wait 30 minutes for the iron to cool. Lock the iron with the locking system (2). Wind the cord and hose into the storage compartment (6). Use the transport handle (4) to move the appliance.
What should I do if steam escapes from the descaling plug?
Turn off the appliance and allow it to cool. Remove the plug and tighten the anti-scale valve correctly using a coin. If the problem persists, the valve may be damaged; contact Hoover after-sales service.

Select the temperature of the soleplate by turning the dial (12) on the iron to the desired position. Wait a few moments until the temperature indicator (15) is off. It will indicate you that the soleplate has reached the requested temperature.

While ironing, the temperature dial indicator turns on and off, as the temperature adjusts without interrupting ironing.

Help:

To know the best suitable temperature for each textile, check the laundry care label of the article to be ironed. Please note that during use, the temperature light goes on from time to time. It signifies that the iron is heating up to the set temperature.

If a fabric is made with various kinds of fibres always select the soleplate temperature in adequacy with the most delicate one.

If you select a lower temperature while ironing, wait until the iron has cooled down to the set temperature before you continue ironing.

If the temperature is too low, some drops of water could escape from the soleplate. Please raise up the temperature above the 2 dots ( ) to avoid this issue

natural_image Three technical line drawings of a mechanical component with no visible text or symbols

Diffuse Caresse

This steam flow is dedicated to iron with great care the most delicate textiles like silk and cashmere with a soft and delicate flow. A reduced steam flow is spread carefully in front of the iron on a large part of textile. Fibres are better loosened in order to take away delicately and faster all the creases.

Precise Power

The flow is directed towards the tip. It permits to access the most difficult zones, like buttons, sleeves and loops through the concentrated flow in the tip and offers a constant, concentrated and powerful sprout. Difficult zones are better humidified and hence creases removed faster.

Profound Care

This vertical steam flow allows removing more easily and quickly the wrinkles on all textiles with a strong and humid jet. Steam impregnates better the fibres and the large soleplate dries the textile. Wrinkles are therefore removed faster.

Help

When steam ironing clothes on which shiny patches may occur, we recommend you to set the soleplate temperature to a lower temperature or to iron the garment on the reverse.

Start with the fabrics that needed to be ironed at a lower temperature ( · ) and finish with those that needed to be ironed at the higher temperature ( ·s/Max ).

Hang curtains and clothes (jackets, suits, coats). Hold the iron in vertical position at a short distance of the fabric to avoid burning it. Press the steam trigger (13) to steam iron moving it from top to bottom.

Warning: Do not direct the steam jet towards people or animals.

Chapter 3.5 - Refilling the Water Tank During Usage

You can fill the water tank at any time during use.

When the water tank is empty, the "Empty water tank" light (1b) is on. No more steam escapes from the soleplate and steam ironing is no longer possible.

Remove the tank from the stand by pressing the tank knob (10). Refill the water tank without exceeding the max mark level. Replace the water tank at its original place. You can restart ironing immediately.

Please refer to chapter 2.2 for more detailed instructions.

Chapter 3.6 - Professional Steam Brush (only SRD4110)
