Important safety instructions

  • Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the

appliance must no longer be used.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not allow the unit or its power cord to touch hot surfaces or to come into contact with any heat sources.
  • Always switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the wall socket before adding, changing, removing or cleaning any attachments or cutting tools. The blades are extremely sharp. To prevent injuries, take special care when handling these parts.

After switching off, always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill. Do not touch any moving parts.

Always remove the plug from the wall socket after use, and also

  • in case of any malfunction
  • during cleaning of the appliance.

  • During operation, the unit should be placed on a scratch-resistant surface.

  • No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial applications.
  • In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The addresses can be found in the appendix to this manual.

Before using for the first time

  • Before the appliance is used for the first

time, all detachable parts must be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section General Care and Cleaning.

Short-time operation

The appliance is designed to process average domestic quantities of food; it can be operated without interruption for a maximum of 1 minute, when it should be allowed to cool down for approximately 5 minutes.

Operating button

The blender is equipped with a 2-position operating button.

Button half depressed - low power
Button fully depressed - high power

Blender operation

  • Always use a suitable container for operation. A tall container with a flat base is best.
  • Push the blender unit down into the ingredients in the bowl before briefly switching the unit on with the operation button.
  • Make sure that the unit can rotate freely inside the bowl and is not blocked during operation.
  • As soon as the operating button is released, the blender will switch off. Always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before lifting the blender attachment from the mixture.
  • Always remove the plug from the wall socket after use.

Attachments

Remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before changing any attachments. The blade unit and blender disc both screw on and off. Before removing, ensure that the drive pin on the shaft of the blender unit sits properly in its recess; then use a suitable cloth to grip the attachment, turning it clockwise to unscrew and remove. (Caution: the blades are extremely sharp.) In the same

way, when fitting an attachment, use a cloth to grip and turn it anti-clockwise to tighten.

- Blade unit

The blade unit is suitable for processing fruit and vegetables, and when preparing baby food, puree or mashed food.

- Blender disc

The blender disc is suitable for any kind of liquid - milk, yoghurt, mayonnaise, cocktails etc.

Sieve and blender jug

The sieve can be inserted in the blender jug. When processing fruit and vegetables, the juice is collected in the jug while the pulp remains in the sieve. Do not fill with hot liquid.

Blender models with additional chopping attachment

With the normal blending rod removed, the drive unit can be attached to the chopping attachment.

  • Fit the cutting blade unit into the bowl before filling the bowl with the food to be chopped. Exercise extreme caution: the blades are very sharp. When handling the blades, always hold them by the upper protective plastic covering.
Position the lid securely on the bowl.
  • Attach the drive unit to the lid of the bowl.
  • Insert the plug into the wall socket and press the operating button in brief bursts until the mixture has reached the desired consistency. During processing, the lid and bowl should be securely held in place.
  • Avoid overfilling the bowl. It may be filled with herbs etc. up to half. Before the bowl is filled, the food to be processed should be cut into pieces of about 1cm .
  • Do not fill the bowl with hot liquid or hard material such as ice cubes, nutmecs, hard grain, coffee beans, rice or spices. Other food items such as chocolate or raw meat are also unsuitable for

processing.

  • After processing, always remove the plug from the wall socket before removing the lid and detaching the drive unit by pressing the release button. The processed food and the blade unit can now be taken out.
  • When processing further food after the first cycle, make sure that the receptacle for the blade unit at the bottom of the bowl is free of food residue before refitting the unit.

Wall bracket

The wall bracket can be mounted on any wall by using the screws provided.

General care and cleaning

  • Always remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning the appliance.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the drive unit or the power cord with water and do not immerse them in water. The drive unit may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or sharp or pointed objects for cleaning.
  • The lid of the chopping attachment can be cleaned with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and a mild detergent. To prevent water from getting into the interior, do not immerse in water.
  • For cleaning purposes, the blender can be detached from the drive unit by depressing the release button. When reattaching the blender, make sure that it locks firmly into place.
  • The blade unit and blender disc can be taken off for cleaning. Before removing, ensure that the drive pin on the shaft of the blender unit sits properly in its recess; then use a suitable cloth to grip the attachment, turning it clockwise to unscrew and remove. Caution: the blades are extremely sharp. Use a suitable brush to clean the attachment. When re-fitting the attachment, use a

cloth to grip and turn it anti-clockwise to tighten.
- All other attachments can be cleaned using hot water and a mild detergent. Make sure that water does not enter the drive shaft from above.
