Frequently Asked Questions - WKS 3381 CLATRONIC

Why does my kettle not turn on?
Check that the kettle is properly placed on the base and the switch is in the down position. If it has been used without water or with too little water, it may need to cool down for 15 minutes before it resets.
How to descale my Clatronic WKS 3381 kettle?
Use a descaling product based on citric acid (not vinegar). Pour the solution into the kettle, bring to a boil, let it sit, then rinse several times with fresh water. Boil 3 to 4 times of fresh water before using.
Why is the water not boiling or the kettle stops before boiling?
This may be due to heavy scaling on the bottom or an overload of the electrical circuit. Descale the appliance and check the power outlet.
How to clean the permanent filter?
Open the lid, remove the filter following the guides, rinse it under running water, then put it back ensuring it clicks into place.
Can I use vinegar to descale?
No, it is not recommended to use vinegar. Use a commercial descaling product based on citric acid.
What to do if the kettle does not stop after boiling?
Check that the lid is closed until it clicks and the filter is properly placed. Otherwise, push the switch up to stop it manually.
Can I boil water with milk or other liquids?
No, this kettle is designed only to heat water. Never use milk, soup, or other liquids.
How to store the power cord?
The base has a cable winding system. Wind the cable around the base for convenient storage.
What is the maximum water capacity?
The maximum capacity is 1.0 litre (up to the 1 L mark). Do not exceed this limit to avoid splashing boiling water.
How to maintain the exterior of the kettle?
Clean the casing after use with a slightly damp cloth. Never use a metal brush or abrasive detergent. Never immerse the appliance or base in water.
