How to install the SIM card and micro-SD card?

Use the provided tool to open the tray. Place the SIM card (micro-SIM) in slot 1 or 2, and the micro-SD card in slot 2, following the indicated direction. Close the tray.

How to charge the battery for the first time?

Connect the USB Type-C cable to the charger and the phone. Before first use, fully charge the battery. Then turn on the device by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button.

How to activate mobile data (4G)?

Pull down the status bar twice to access quick settings. Tap the Settings icon, then under "Wireless & networks", select "Data usage" and the SIM card tab. Turn on the "Mobile data" switch.

How to connect to a Wi-Fi network?

Pull down the status bar twice, tap the Wi-Fi icon to enable it, then select "Wi-Fi" at the bottom. Choose the network name and enter the password if required.

How to set up the fingerprint reader?

Go to Settings > Security > Fingerprint. Follow the on-screen instructions to register up to 5 fingerprints. You will also need to set a backup pattern.

What is the laser focus for and how to activate it?

The laser focus improves camera focusing. Go to Settings > Laser focus to enable or disable it.

What to do if the SIM card is not detected?

Check that the SIM card is valid and inserted correctly according to the tray diagram. If damaged, contact your operator for a replacement.

My phone is unresponsive, what should I do?

Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 10 seconds to force a restart. If the problem persists, check for updates in Settings > About phone > System update.

How to reset the phone in case of problem?

Go to Settings > Backup & reset. Back up your data then select "Factory data reset". Confirm the operation.

What to do if I forgot my password or PIN code?

If you set a backup email, use it to reset. Otherwise, you will need to fully reset the phone. Check the FAQ at faq.archos.com for more help.

Assembling

After you have unpacked your mobile phone box:

1. Remove the card tray by inserting the tool provided, into the tray release hole.
2. Insert 1 micro SIM card into slot 1 and a micro SD Memory card into slot 2 OR 2 micro SIM cards into slots 1 and 2 as shown in the diagram.
3. Replace the tray in the right position and push it inside to close.

When inserting your SIM card or micro-SD card, make sure to follow the illustration, otherwise you may damage the slot or the card.

Starting up

Charging your battery completely

Plug the charging cable in the USB type-C port and the adapter in a power outlet.

Leave the device until the battery is fully charged. Turning ON

1. Press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn on the device.
2. Follow the instructions to set up your device. Activating mobile date connection (4G)
3. Touch and pull down the status bar to display it.
4. Touch again the bar to reveal the quick settings.
5. Select the Settings icon.
6. In Wireless & networks, select Data usage, then the SIM card tab.
7. Slide the Mobile data switch to turn on/off. Activating WiFi connection
8. Touch and pull down the status bar to display it.
9. Touch again the bar to reveal the quick settings.
10. Select the WiFi icon to activate the WiFi connection
11. Select "WiFi" below the WiFi icon.
12. Touch the name of network you want to

connect to.

Private networks are shown with a lock icon and will require you to enter your password.

Fingerprint reader

Use the fingerprint option to secure your device.

1. Select Settings>Security, then Fingerprint.
2. Select Continue.
3. Select a pattern as an alternative in case of being not able to use the fingerprint option.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
5. Record your finger in different positions for a better detection.
6. You can add up to 5 fingerprints.

Laser focus

For better photos, the laser focus helps improve the camera focus. Go to Settings> Laser focus to activate/deactivate.

Turbo download

Download large files faster by combining your Data and WiFi connections.

1. Go to Settings > Wireless & networks.
2. Select Turbo download, then turn it ON

Troubleshooting

• My SIM card is not detected: make sure to have a valid SIM card. Insert the SIM card according to the process shown in the Assembling page. Try to contact your provider to renew the card if it is faulty.
• My device is frozen: press the ON/OFF button for more than 10 seconds.
• My device encounters dysfunctions: go to Settings > About phone > Check for update system to check for updates. If your device is up-to-date, try to reset the device from Settings > Factory data reset > Backup & restore. We recommend to save your files before resetting.
• My WiFi reception is too low: make sure you are not far from the WiFi hotspot. Update the firmware of the device: http://www.archos.com/support. Reset and redefine your connection parameters. Contact your WiFi connection provider.
• My device bootlogo is playing in a loop: you need to completely reset your device. Go to faq.archos.com and select your device. In Backup & Recovery, select How to reinitialize my ARCHOS.
• My device doesn't recognize my password or PIN: when setting a lock screen, select a code easy to remember. In some cases, you need to enter your email or to reset totally your device. See our FAQs.
