Traynor Keyboard Amps Series
K2 - 200w, 10 inch / 4 inch / 2.5 inch
Designed for working musicians the Traynor Keymaster systems deliver the high fidelity needed to bring out the complex sounds of today's synthesizers. Equipped with active filtering circuits for effective tonal shaping. You'll get the sound you want quickly and easily from every Traynor amplifier, gig after gig, night after night.
Traynor backline amplification is designed and built using unparalleled levels of durability and quality found only from the name legendary for its reliability and toughness. Inside every amplifier we use high-grade glass epoxy circuit boards, low-noise metal film resistors, phone jacks with gold plated contacts, chassis metal which is one to two gauges thicker than the competition's and durable plywood construction. Built in true Traynor fashion, these great sounding combo amplifiers stand up to life on the road. The Traynor Keymaster series satisfies musicians who require rugged, reliable and highly portable equipment that faithfully reproduce acoustic-electric instruments, voice, CDs and tapes.
Thank you for choosing the Traynor Keymaster K2. This advanced keyboard amplifier is extremely versatile, delivering a wide spectrum of tonal performance. More importantly it has the ability to bring out subtle audible nuances for performance and it has the ability to sound right with a minimum amount of knob twirling.
Introducing the ultra-compact, 200-watt Traynor K2 Traynor keyboard amplifier. Designed to outperform anything in its class, the K2 is the smallest keyboard amplifier to offer Traynor's innovative tube / solid-state input and proprietary Voicing circuitry. This technology was first
introduced on the K2's big brother, the K4. By using this unique input design, the Traynor K2 becomes more than a keyboard amp but an integral part of the keyboard player's tone pallet.
The K2 also serves as a convenient and powerful wedge monitor. Designed for the live stage, it's small footprint allows it to fit easily under almost any keyboard rig, the 3-way speaker system delivers a full 200-watts to the stage, more than enough for most live applications. The innovative third channel post-master input (located on the back of the K2) allows an additional signal to be fed to the amplifier, without feeding it to the pre-master line output. This allows sources like monitor feeds from the front of house mix, a drum machine click tracks or cue sends to be amplified on stage by the K2, without feeding them to the house mix!

Channel 1
There are two sets of inputs for channel 1, The selectable tube or solid state input on channel 1 allows the player to select a pristine, high-headroom solid-state clean input on channel one, or a warmer, slightly compressed tube circuit which adds warmth to digital synths and samplers.

Input Select Switch
The input select switch enables the user the option of solid state or tube preamp.
Gain Control
The gain control on channel 1 controls the gain of both preamps, solid state and the tube, depending on setting of the input select switch. You can overdrive the input signal by increasing the gain while in the tube mode.
Tip: For some good vintage organ or just to further enhance the experience, increase the gain into the white outlined area of the control while in the tube mode. You'll be pleased with the sweet overdrive and added growl of this circuit as you dial clockwise.
Input clip LED
The input clip LED will only turn on when the input signal from a source such as a keyboard is too hot and will clip the input circuits. To alleviate this, turn down the gain of the source unit.
Tone Controls
There are 3 tone controls, bass, mid and treble; these cover the entire audio spectrum. Each control permits a wide range of sonic adjustment, a boost or cut of 15 dB. The center position denotes 0 dB cut/boost.
Voicing
The Voicing circuit offers several pre-set user selectable tone shapes on channel one to add overall presence to further enhance specific synth sounds on the K2's first channel. For those who like to keep it simple, 4 voicing presets are available. The presets are contoured for organ, piano, live and studio. Bypassing the circuit is also available when the selector is in 12 o'clock position. Try them all and see which one meets your needs.
Voicing presets recommendations
- Studio.
- Live.
- Piano.
- Organ.
Channel 2
Channel 2 uses a 14 -inch/XLR (TRS) combi-jack input. This input can be used for an additional line-level input or a microphone-level input, and has its own dedicated three-band EQ.
Channel 2, 1 / 4 -inch / XLR Combo Input jack
The combi jack can be use for Microphone or a mono 1/4 -inch input application.

RCA Inputs
The RCA inputs are stereo, right and left. They are properly summed in the preamp. MP3 players, CD players and tape decks commonly use these. For best results use a player that has its own gain control, this will enable you to control the levels when the other 14 -inch / XLR Combi input jack used by another source and you do not wish to have both at the same audible level.
Gain Control
This control sets the gain of the preamp circuits, the overall volume can be set by this control while keeping the master fixed. If more volume is required increase either the master volume or increase the source (keyboard) gain without clipping the input.
Input Clip LED
The input clip LED will only turn on when the Input signal from a source such as a keyboard is too hot and will clip the input circuits, to alleviate this, turn down the gain of the source unit.
Tone Controls
There are 3 tone controls bass, mid and treble to cover the entire audio spectrum. Each control permits a wide range of sonic adjustment, a boost or cut of 15 dB. The center position denotes 0 dB cut/boost.
Channel 3
Channel 3 has been added as an extra channel for monitoring purposes, the signal does not mix in with the main bus and thus the lineout is not affected by it. The input has it own gain control, located on the rear of the unit, for adjusting the audio level.
Master Control
The Master Volume controls the output level of the K2.
Master Clip
The Master clip LED will come on when the signal is clipping going to the amplifier. When this occurs either reduce the gain of either channel or reduce the equalization.

Line Out 14 -inch TRS (balanced)
Located at the front, this jack is used to connect directly to the mixing consoles. Use this when performing live or in a recording studio. The Master Volume control has no effect on the line out audio level.
Note: Please note that the signal from Channel 3 does not mix in with the main bus signal and is not sent the line out. It is meant for stage monitoring only
Head Phones
Located on the front panel, the 1/4 -inch Phone jack is provided for your listening pleasure. If the jack is used, it disconnects the signal to the amplifiers thus muting the K2.
Cooling system
The K2 is cooled by a set of heat sinks located at the back of the unit, always keep that area clear so that the heat is dissipated properly otherwise the unit will overheat and shut down.
