1. Introduction

We are pleased that you have opted for the kiddy infinity pro as a child restraint system with impact shield.

The kiddy infinity pro is another innovative product within our new pro line series. We use the material honeycomb® which is particularly energy deriving and offers maximum security in front and side collision.

For complete protection of your child the kiddy infinity pro must be used exactly as described in these instructions.

2. Applicability

The kiddy infinity pro seat has been tested and approved in accordance with the most up to date version of standard ECE44-04. It received the design certification for the "universal" category. This means that it may be used in all vehicle types on any seat with a 3-point vehicle belt in accordance with ECE 16 or comparable standards.

The child restraint system kiddy infinity pro is suitable for weight category I. That means children with a body weight of 9 - 18 kg (approx. 9 months to 4 years).

For children with a body weight of approx. 9 - 13kg (that is approximately an age of 9 - 18 months) the corresponding seat cushion has to be used (see point 4.2.1).

Follow the recommendations of your vehicle manual or contact your authorised repair shop.

3. General safety instructions

Read the instruction manual carefully before fitting the child restraint system for the first time. You risk endangering your child's life if the product is used incorrectly.

Many injuries, caused by carelessness, are easily avoidable.

The child restraint system must always be used with the appropriate impact shield.

Use the appropriate seat cushion for children with a body weight of 9 - approx. 13kg . Otherwise the seat position (protection) would be worsened in the event of an accident.

Before every journey, check whether the child restraint system is ideally set for the child's body size. Do not make any adjustments during the journey.

Make sure that all parts are always locked in place correctly.

Always secure the child restraint system with the vehicle's own 3-point belt system.

Make sure that no parts of the child restraint system are penned in the doors or the adjustable seats.

When used in vans and caravans, make sure that in the event of rescue operation by a third party, the child restraint system is fitted to a seat that can be accessed easily.

Only use the child restraint system for the specified weight category I up to a max. 18 kg.

The belt should never rest loosely against the impact shield. If an accident does occur, strains on the body will be much higher than with a belt that is tightened. Make sure that the buckle is positioned correctly.

Never leave your child unattended in the child restraint system.

Do not place any heavy objects on the rear shelf. This could be dangerous if an accident does happen.

If you drive without a child in the child restraint system, always secure it with the vehicle's 3-point belt according to the instructions.

It is prohibited to make any changes whatsoever to the child restraint systems. Changes could restrict or even lose the protective effect. If you experience difficulties please contact your specialist dealer or the manufacturer directly.

Protect the child restraint system from direct sun light as it could heat up and cause discomfort.

Allow your child breaks during longer journeys and ensure that your child does not get out of the vehicle and onto the road surface unattended. Always use the child locking device in car doors, if available.

Ensure that the child restraint system has been fitted in the vehicle in line with these instructions.

Do not continue using the child restraint system if parts have been damaged or loosened after an accident (accident speed more than 10km/h ) or through other effects.

The child restraint system may only be used on seats with a 3-point belt system in accordance with ECE 16 or comparable standards.

Only use the belt path that the manufacturer has specified.

4. Installation in the vehicle

4.1 Choice of seat

Please read up on using child restraint systems in your vehicle manual.

The child restraint system kiddy infinity pro can be fitted into vehicles on any seat with a 3-point belt system.

The kiddy infinity pro can also be used on rear-facing car seats, fitted with a 3-point belt system.

If the installation is hindered by a head rest, this must be used in the top setting.

The movable back rest of the kiddy infinity pro guarantees that this rests against the car back rest. Position the adjustable back rests of the vehicle accordingly.

4.2 Settings

4.2.1 Height adjustment of seat cushion

The kiddy infinity pro has a seat cushion, which guarantees size adjustment between approx. a 9 and 18 month child (9 kg and approx. 13 kg) through the seat height alteration.

The seat cushion can be adjusted to the size of your child at multi-level.

Go about setting the seat cushion as follows:

Level A: approx. 9-13 months; seat cushion folded up (fig. 2)

Level B: approx. 13-18 months; seat cushion folded apart (fig. 4)

Level C: approx. 18 months - 4 years; no seat cushion used (fig. 6)

In order to achieve the correct setting of the seat position with the seat cushion, you must always position the adjustable headrest properly.

4.2.2 Headrest adjustment

The kiddy infinity pro offers an individual adjustment to your child's size with its height adjustable headrest.

The headrest can be adjusted to the size of your child in 5 levels.

The correct seat position setting is achieved when the child's head rests in the middle area of the head rest.

Move the yellow height adjustable handle on the reverse of the headrest, by pulling it slightly out while at the same time moving the headrest up or down, depending on the height required (fig. 7)

After adjusting the height, allow the headrest to click in place.

Always check that the adjusted parts of kiddy are locked securely in place by pulling on the adjusted part slightly.

4.2.3 Setting the sleeping position

The kiddy infinity pro is fitted with a sleeping position, which guarantees comfortable and secure seating during longer journeys.

To set the sleeping position, first release the vehicle's belt system. Pull the kiddy infinity pro as far forward as possible so that the black supporting clamp, located on the back of the seat part, can be folded back. Then push the kiddy infinity pro against the back rest of the vehicle seat.

In its opened state, the supporting clamp must lie against the back rest of the vehicle seat. It prevents the seat from slipping back (fig. 9).

The back rest of the kiddy infinity pro can be swivelled into the sleeping position. The sleeping position is then achieved when the back rest of the child seat lies against the vehicle seat rest (fig. 9).

Never set the sleeping position during mid journey. Your vehicle must be at a standstill. Undo the vehicle belt, change the position of the supporting clamp and back rest and then secure your child (the child restraint system) again.

To secure the child in the sleeping position, please proceed as described in item 5.

5. Securing the child in the seating/sleeping position

The kiddy infinity pro is secured with the 3-point vehicle belt on the belt guide of the impact shield (fig. 10).

Your kiddy infinity pro may only be used with the appropriate impact shield.

Once your child is seated, push the impact shield into the guide slots on the seat part (fig. 10).

Push the impact shield so that it rests just above your child's stomach.

Afterwards pull out the vehicle's 3-belt safety belt as far as possible so that it goes around your child and can be directly locked in place into the vehicle's own buckle.

Make sure that the belt tongue locks in place. You will hear a clicking noise.

If your kiddy impact shield has toy figures, these should be placed above the impact shield (fig. 13) to make it easier to belt your child in.

Feed the lap belt into the red belt fastener of the impact shield. Then tighten the lap belt (fig. 14). The impact shield must rest just above your child's stomach.

Feed the shoulder belt into the belt fastener (fig. 15).

Make sure that the belts rest flat and are not twisted over one another.

Likewise, tighten the shoulder belt in the direction of the automatic roll-up (fig. 15).

Once the belt system has been tightened, it is necessary to recheck that the seating is correct and also that the belt is correctly fastened in the belt fasteners.

Prior to travelling, see for yourself that the lap and shoulder belt rest properly on the impact shield and that they sit firmly and are not twisted.

The belts must be flat over the belt guide area of the impact shield (fig. 16).

Check the belt process regularly.

6. Removing the cover

Never use your kiddy without the original cover. The cover is part of the safety concept.

6.1. Pulling off the back rest cover

Open the cover on the reverse of the back rest in the shoulder area above. Then push the head rest into the bottom setting. Pull the loops from both fasteners on top of the back rest. Pull the cover from the back to the front from the shoulder rests.

6.2 Pulling off the seat cover

Loosen both rubber bands underneath the seat part. Then open the fastening on the reverse of the seat part. Pull the clip between the back rest and seat part upwards. Remove the seat cover from the back and forwards over the seat part.

6.3 Pulling off the head rest cover

Loosen both fastening clips on the reverse of the head rest cover and turn these to the front. Loosen the cover around the yellow height adjustment handle on the reverse of the head rest. Pull the head rest cover from the back and forwards over the head rest.

6.4 Impact shield cover / toy figures

The impact shield cover must not be pulled off. If the impact shield or its cover becomes damaged, please contact your dealer or the manufacturer directly.

The toy figures can be removed by loosening the press studs on the fastening cord.

6.5 Putting the cover back on

When putting the cover back on, follow the instructions in the reverse order of removing the cover (see 6.1. - 6.3).

7. Care instructions

7.1 Cleaning the cover

The covers are an essential component of the safety concept. Only use original covers from the manufacturer. If you need replacement covers, these can be ordered from your dealer. The cover and the removable fastening cord of the toy figures (6.4) are washable at 30 degrees in a mild wash cycle. Spin-dry or tumble-dry are not recommended.

7.2 Cleaning the toy figures

The toy figures can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Never use chemical cleaning products.

7.3 Cleaning the plastic parts

The plastic parts can be cleaned with a mild cleaning agent or a damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning products (e.g. solvent).

8. Procedure after an accident

After an accident resulting from a speed of over 10km , the child restraint system must be checked by the manufacturer for possible damage and then replaced if necessary.

9. Guarantee

For this kiddy infinity pro we offer a 2 year guarantee for manufacturing or material defects. The guarantee period commences on the day of purchase.

A sales receipt will be required for complaint.

The guarantee is limited to child restraint systems which have been handled appropriately and are returned in clean and sound condition.

The guarantee does not extend to:

• natural occurrences of wear and tear and damages caused by excessive strain.
• damages through inappropriate or improper use.

Materials: All of our materials meet high standards with regard to colour resistance against sunlight. However all materials discolour when they are exposed to UV light. This will be considered as normal wear and tear and not a material defect. No guarantee can be assumed in this case.

In the case of a guarantee claim contact your dealer directly.
