ENG User’s manual kiddy clima

Thank you for your selection of the climatic insert of kiddy. Kiddy clima is a high-quality product, exhibiting a long life of service with appropriate use. The climatic insert is designed for use with most child seats (group 0+ to III). Kiddy clima has both a summer and winter side. The summer side is equipped with an innovative breathable fabric, which ensures the optimal air conditioning for your child throughout the warm season because kiddy clima provides for an ideal humidity transport and also improves the comfort of the seat for your child. The winter side has an integrated seat heater which is simply attached to the vehicle's 12 V on-board plug socket (cigarette lighter). When the heater is activated the seat will be warmed up to 32 C°. It makes traveling comfortable, particularly on cold winter days, even if the vehicle has cooled down overnight.

1. General Safety Tips Read the instructions carefully before the first use and carry them with you in the car. Never leave your child unattended in the child seat, especially when the seat heater is in use. Make sure that the vehicle's safety belt, and if necessary, the belt of the child seat, is neither obstructed nor impaired by the insert. Put the 12V-adapter (patch cord) in the child seat in such a way that your child cannot play with the cable or detach it by kicking. Give your child periods of rest and take him/her out of the seat during those times.

Only use the heater while the vehicle's motor is running, otherwise the battery can be drained very quickly,

When turning your vehicle off, make sure to switch the seat heater off, otherwise the battery can be drained very quickly.

Never use the kiddy clima when it is in a damp or wet state.

Make sure that your child does not pour beverages on the 12V-plug.

In cases where the product is damaged, in particular the heating component, discontinue use of kiddy clima and contact your specialty dealer. 9

3.1 General Tips Insert kiddy clima into the child seat or the infant child seat. The side with the "legs" must be placed in the direction of your child's feet (see picture on page 8). Always place the climatic cushion onto the child seat cover, never under it! If your child seat is equipped with its own belt system, you must employ the greatest of care when inserting kiddy clima and buckeling your child. Place the insert (as described above) onto your child car seat. Pull the seat buckle through the notch between kiddy clima's "legs". Now, in the same manner, feed the shoulder and pelvis belts along the insert. Make sure that the belt path is neither obstructed nor impaired by the insert. Put 12 V adapter and the plug in such a way that your child cannot detach, or by kicking, detach the plug connection. Secure your child now, as described in the child seat's directions for use. Continually check and re-check the 12 Volt-adapter and its positioning.

3.2 Use in the Summer Remove the connecting cord for the seat heater from the plug of the climatic insert and carefully store it. Place the kiddy clima with the summer side (breathable fabric) facing up in the child seat or infant child seat. Pay attention here to the general tips (point 3.1). Proceed with the securing of your child according to the direction of the operating instructions of your child seat.

3.3 Use in the Winter

Place the kiddy clima with the winter side (fabric side) facing up in the child seat or infant child seat. Pay attention here to the general tips (point 3.1). Proceed with the securing of your child according to the direction of the operating instructions of your child seat. The heating cushion is activated by pressing the on/off switch and it heats up to a temperature of approximately 32°C. In order to ensure the security of your child, kiddy clima is equipped with an overheating protection, meaning that the insert will not heat up beyond approximately 32°C. Do not forget to turn off the heating pad after turning off your vehicle's ignition. The supply current is not interrupted by turning the engine off with every motor vehicle. When kiddy klima's heater is used for a long time without a running motor, the motor vehicle battery can be quickly drained. 11

4. Care In no case may the kiddy klima be washed in the washing machine or dried in the clothes dryer. Spots can be removed with a damp (not wet) cloth. The climatic insert may not be ironed.

The climatic insert may not be disposed of with the household (residual) waste.

The manufacturer guarantees the redemption of kiddy clima.

Send the climatic insert back to the manufacturer. The packing material can be disposed of through waste paper and/or plastic waste containers. Keep the operating instructions without fail and carry them with you in the car during the of use kiddy clima.

For this climatic insert we render a warranty of 2 years against production or material defects. The time of the guarantee begins on the day of purchase. The purchase voucher serves as the basis of complaint. The guarantee is limited to articles which have been appropriately treated and returned in clean and tidy condition. 12

Nevertheless, the colour of all fabrics recedes when they are exposed to UV rays. This is not a matter of errors in the fabric; rather it is a normal sign of wear for which we cannot assume liability. In the case of a warranty claim, please contact your specialty dealer.

7. Declaration of conformity

We declare hereby that the climatic insert kiddy clima (SIC062) conform the following standards or standardization documents: EN 50366:2003 (73/23/EEC), EN 61000-3-2:2000+A1:2005, EN 61000-3-3:1995+A1:2001, EN 61000-6-1:2001, EN 61000-6-3:2001+A11:2004 (89/336/EEC, 92/31/EC, 93/68/EC).
