- In case fabric is adhered to the soleplate due to heat, use a damp cloth and vinegar to detach it.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean the device.
Decalcifying the iron
We divide the descaling process into two phases: manual cleaning and programmed cleaning (using a button on the iron).
Manual cleaning: the following steps are to be carried out:
- Mix 40 g of descaling product (if there is a lot of limescale, increase the amount of product as necessary) and 1 litre of water. Pour the mixture into the drain valve port, close the drain valve and shake 3-5 times. You may also use white vinegar with water in a 1:1 solution. If there is more scale, please increase the amount of vinegar as appropriate.
- Pour the mixture into the hole in the drain valve and close the valve so that the mixture does not spill out (always use clean water for cleaning, otherwise bad odours may occur).
- Let the mixture stand at room temperature for 1-2 hours (if there is more scale, let it sit for longer, but do not exceed 8 hours).
- Empty the mixture through the drain valve.
- Pour clean water through the drain valve port and then drain the mixture. Repeatedly inject clean water until the residual scale and organic acid smell disappear.
- Rinse well.
Scheduled cleaning: to do so, we will proceed with the following steps:
- Residual water in the part where the water tank is connected to the body must be cleaned up to prevent scale from building up.
- During use, once the appliance has accumulated 10 hours of operation, the descaling indicator will light up and the device will start beeping to remind you that the descaling process is advisable. There are two options:
-
If you live in an area with high water hardness (to find out the hardness in your area, look for a map of lime hardness in Spain), it is highly recommended that you carry out a decalcification process on your iron. Follow the steps below:
-
Fill the water tank to the maximum.
-
Press and hold both buttons on the iron and at the same time press and hold the start button on the appliance. After 5s, the lights will start flashing and the descaling process
ENGLISH
will start.
- Place the iron in a container or in a safe place (to collect the liquids that are generated during the process), as the iron will carry out a complete process of the water through the internal circuit dragging the lime sediments that may have been generated during its use and the water tank will be partially emptied.
- Once the descaling process is finished, the appliance will switch itself off and you can continue ironing.
Note: in case the power supply is interrupted during the process, the steam station must follow the following procedure:
- In the descaling process, if the programme is stopped or switched off, the descaling indicator light will stay on and the descaling indicator light will stay on and the appliance will emit an alarm when the machine is switched on next time. The entire machine may not be used and may only be used after descaling. First press the automatic iron button and the manual button at the same time, then press the machine start button, hold down these three buttons for 5 seconds, the buzzer will beep 3 times and the descaling indicator light keeps flashing. The descaling process will begin.
- If you live in a town with a very low water hardness (to find out the hardness in your area, look for a map of lime hardness in Spain), and you do not think it is advisable to carry out the decalcification process, you can omit it at your own risk. To do this, you can first press the automatic button on the iron, and then press the switch button on the machine, and hold the two buttons for 5 seconds to cancel the alarm. The signs of descaling will disappear and you can continue ironing.
-
During use, once the appliance has been running for 20 hours, the descaling indicator will light up and beep to remind you that the iron needs to be descaled. To start the descaling process of the iron, follow the steps below:
-
Fill the water tank to the maximum.
- Press and hold both buttons on the iron and at the same time press and hold the start button on the appliance. After 5 seconds, the lights will start flashing and the descaling process will start.
- Place the iron in a container or in a safe place (to collect the liquids that are generated during the process), as the iron will carry out a complete process of the water through the internal circuit dragging the limescale sediments that may have been generated during use, and the water tank will be partially emptied.
- Once the descaling process is finished, the appliance will switch itself off and you can continue ironing.
Note
- When selecting synthetic fibres (130 °C and steam) or silk (140 °C and steam), when the
room temperature is low, the soleplate may leak when steaming after preheating.
- After 150-200 hours of operation in synthetic fibre or silk mode, some scale may appear due to the type of water. Use purified water to avoid this from happening.
