Before first use

Clean the induction hob with a dampened cloth and thoroughly dry the surface. Do not use detergents that may taint the glass surface blue.

3. INSTALLATION

Gluing the adhesive sealing gasket

The gasket supplied with the induction hob prevents liquid from seeping into the cabinet below. The gasket must be carefully glued, as shown in Figure 4. For this purpose:

  1. Clean the surface of the edge of the hob where the sealing gasket is to be fitted.
  2. Install the sealing gasket along the outer edge of the induction hob. Make sure that the end of the cut sealing gasket reaches the end of the hob edge. When cutting the gasket, try to leave a few extra millimetres. To fit the gasket, push the two ends together at a corner and do not leave a gap between both ends. The sealing gasket must be installed to ensure that no liquid leaks inside the induction hob.

Installation

  • The product must be installed by authorised specialists.
  • The installer must comply with the legislation and standards in force in the country where the product is to be installed.
  • The distance between the induction hob and the surrounding walls must be at least 50 mm.
  • Figure 5 and the following table show the size for the installation of the induction hob.

  • When installing the induction hob, there may be a wall or a tall cabinet at the rear or on one side. Should it be the case, there must not be any furniture or appliances that are higher than the cooking surface on the opposite side (opposite to the rear or one of the sides).
  • The installation worktop and the objects close to it must be heat resistant (100 °C). The sealing gaskets at the edges of the wall must be heat-resistant.
  • Do not install the induction hob on top of a dishwasher or a non-ventilated oven.

  • Allow for at least 30 mm of free space under the induction hob to ensure good ventilation.

  • The installation worktop must be able to withstand a minimum weight of 20 kg.
  • If there is a drawer under the induction hob, do not use it to store flammable objects (such as sprays) or objects that aren't heat resistant.
  • The worktop may swell due to moisture. To protect the trimmed edge, apply a layer of special varnish or sealant. Pay special attention when applying the adhesive gasket supplied with the induction hob to prevent any leakage into the supporting furniture. The gasket ensures good sealing when applied on smooth worktops.
  • The safety distance between the induction hob and the kitchen hood above must comply with the kitchen hood manufacturer's recommendations. If there are no instructions given, maintain a minimum distance of 760 mm. Fig. 6

Tips

Cookware quality

  • Suitable materials: steel, enamelled steel, cast iron, ferromagnetic stainless steel, aluminium with ferromagnetic base.
  • Unsuitable materials: aluminium and stainless steel without ferromagnetic base, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, porcelain.

The cookware manufacturer must specify whether the product is induction compatible. To check if they are compatible:

- Pour a little water inside the cookware and place it on one of the cooking zones with heating power [9]. The water should boil within a few seconds.

- A magnet should stick to the cookware bottom.

Some cookware may emit noise when placed on a cooking zone. This noise is normal and does not imply a fault, nor does it affect the cooking process.

Cookware size

  • The cooking zones adapt to the size of the cookware. However, the diameter of the bottom of the cookware should match that of the cooking zone as closely as possible.
  • To get the most out of the induction hob, place the cookware in the centre of the cooking zone.

Cooking guidelines

Be careful when frying, as oil and fat heat up very quickly, especially if you use the Booster function. At extremely high temperatures, oil and grease can spontaneously combust, creating a serious fire hazard.

Cooking tips

  • When food starts boiling, reduce the power.
  • Using a lid will reduce the cooking time and save energy by retaining heat.
  • Use less liquid or grease to shorten cooking times.
  • Start cooking with a high power setting and reduce it as food heats up.

Temperature settings

The following settings are for guidance only. The exact setting will depend on different factors, such as cookware and the amount of food cooked. Test the induction hob to find the settings that suit you best.

Temperature settingUse
1 - 2• Slightly heating small amounts of food.• Melting chocolate, butter, and food that burns quickly.• Simmering.• Heating food gradually.
3 - 4• Reheating.• Fast cooking.• Cooking rice.
5 - 6• Pancakes.
7 - 8• Stir-frying.• Cooking pasta.
9• Stir-frying.• Browning.• Boiling broth.• Boiling water.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
  • Allow the induction hob to cool down before cleaning to avoid burns.
  • Wipe the stains with a damp cloth with detergent diluted in a little water. Then wet with cold water and dry the surface thoroughly. You can use specific cleaning products for induction / glass ceramic hobs.
  • Always avoid using corrosive or abrasive detergents and cleaning utensils that may scratch the surface.
  • Never use a steam or pressure cleaner.
  • Do not use any objects that could scratch the ceramic glass.
  • Make sure that the cookware to be used is clean and dry. Make sure that the control panel and the cookware are not dusty. Sliding cookware with damaged or worn bottoms will damage the surface.
  • Spilled sugar, jam, etc. should be cleaned up immediately. This will prevent the surface from getting damaged.
DirtCleaningImportant details
Usual dirt on the glass (fingerprints, marks, food stains, etc.).1. Unplug the induction hob from the mains.2. Apply a worktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (not hot).3. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth or a paper towel.4. Unplug the induction hob from the mains.- When the induction hob is switched off, there will be no “hot surface” indication, but the cooking zone may still be hot. Be especially careful.- Abrasive cloths, some nylon scouring pads, and strong/ abrasive cleaning products may scratch the glass. Always read the label to check if your cleaning product or scouring pad is suitable.- Never leave cleaning product residues on the induction hob to avoid staining the glass.
Hot sugar spills on the glass.Remove them immediately with a spatula or razor blade scraper suitable for induction hobs but be careful with the hot cooking zones.1. Unplug the induction hob from the mains.2. Hold the scraper or cookware at a 30° angle and scrape the dirt or spillage onto a cool area of the induction hob.3. Wipe up the dirt or spillage with a kitchen or paper towel.4. Follow steps 2 to 4 in the section “Usual dirt on the glass”.- Remove melted and sugary food stains or spills as soon as possible. If left to cool down on the glass, they may be difficult to remove or may even permanently damage the glass surface.- Cutting hazard: when the safety cover is retracted, the blade of the scraper may be as sharp as a razor. Use it with extreme care and always store it safely and out of the reach of children.
Spills on touch icons.1. Unplug the induction hob from the mains.2. Blot the spill.3. Wipe the touch icons with a clean, damp sponge or cloth.4. Dry the area completely with a paper towel.5. Unplug the induction hob from the mains.- The induction hob may emit an acoustic signal and switch off, and the touch icons may not work if wet.- Be sure to dry the touch icons before switching the induction hob back on.
