  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
  • To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.
  • Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
    Use only original spare parts.
  • Pay careful attention to the following "Special Safety Instructions".

Special safety instructions

  • Connect the steam cooker only to a duly installed 230V socket;
  • Place the appliance on a level surface. Make sure that the wire and the appliance are not placed on hot surfaces or near sources of heat. Lay out the wire so that it does not come into contact with sharp objects.
  • Do not bend the wire and do not wind around the appliance.
  • Should the appliance fall into water, pull it out of the water only if the wire is not connected to the socket! Do not use it until it has been examined by an authorized technician. The same applies also if the wire or the appliance are damaged or if the steam cooker has fallen.
  • If the appliance is not used according to the instructions or incorrectly, the manufacturer is not liable for the resulting damage!
  • When using electrical heating devices extremely high temperatures (e.g. hot water, hot steam, heating element) capable of causing severe burns are generated. Use the handles to hold the lid and the locks. Inform also other users of the potential dangers!

GB

  • Do not place the steam cooker near a wall (minimum distance: 10cm ) or under hanging cabinet. Never place anything on the appliance. Do not cover the steam openings during use. The steam must be able to escape freely.
WARNING! Hot steam escapes from the steam holes and when opening the lid! Danger of scalding!
  • Leave the appliance to cool before cleaning and packing!
  • Never use the steam cooker without water in it!
  • Use the appliance only for the cooking of food. Never use it for other purposes.

Before Using for the First Time

Remove the steam cooker carefully from its packaging and thoroughly clean any dust from the lid, the rice and steam bowls, the drip pan for collecting condensation and the connecting rings with warm soapy water. Rinse these items then in clear water and dry them. You can also clean these items also in the upper tray of the dishwasher. Clean the water container on the inside with a moist cloth. Then leave it to dry.

Using the Steam Cooker

Position the appliance near a socket. Make sure that the surface is level, dry, non-slip and resistant to heat and that there is no enough space from the wall or the furniture.

Do not place the steam cooker under hanging cabinets! The steam unit and the accessories are not to be used in stoves (microwave, re-circulated air or traditional) or on stoves!

Pour only clear, clean water into the water container. Do not use other liquids in the container. Do not add any salt, pepper, etc.

Make sure when filling the container with water that the (MAX) filling level mark inside the container is not exceeded and that the (MIN) mark is passed.

The MIN mark is located approx. 16 mm above the bottom of the water container.

Insert the collection dish in the bottom part.

Use with only one Steam Bowl

Place the high steam dish on the drip pan. Place the vegetables, fish or other food without any sauce or liquid in the steam bowl.

The steam escape holes must not be covered completely!

Using two or three steam dishes

Insert the largest piece to be cooked with the longest cooking time in the lower (the high) steam bowl and place it on the collection dish in the bottom part. Place a connecting ring on each of the lower steam dishes. Then place the upper (the lower) steam bowl on the lower bowl.

Use of the Rice Bowl

Place the rice or other foods with sauce or liquid in the rice bowl.

After you have filled in the water, replace the lid and insert the mains plug into the socket. Set the timer on the desired cooking time (maximum 60 min). The control lamp lights up and steam emerges after approximately 9 minutes. When the cooking is over, the timer and the LED are shut off immediately and a signal is emitted by the timer.

The timer can run only for a brief period of time (ticking sound). This is technically envisaged and it is not a defect.

The cooking time stated in the tables are to be understood from the time the steam has formed, i.e. after approx. 9 minutes in the device, and should only be considered guideline values. Make the due corrections if necessary.

When handling or removing the hot components always use oven cloths or oven gloves to avoid getting burned by the hot steam!

Remove the plug from the socket at the end of the cooking.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Before cleaning always pull out the plug and leave the appliance to cool!
- Never dip the bottom part, the wire and the plug in water.
Pour out the contents of the collection dish and the water container carefully.
- Thoroughly clean the lid, the rice and steam bowls and the condensed water collection dish with hot soap suds. Rinse them in clear water and dry them or you can also clean them also in the upper tray of the dishwasher.
- Clean the inside of the water container with soap suds and wipe it with a moist towel. Then leave to dry.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive detergents.

Decalcifying

  • In case of hard water lime gradually deposits on the heating element. This can lead to the premature end of the steaming process before the food is cooked. To avoid this problem, after using the appliance 7-10 times put 3 cups of vinegar in the water container and fill it to the MAX mark with water. Do not put the lid on the appliance nor the steam and rice bowls nor the collection dish in the steam cooker.
  • Insert the plug in a socket and set the timer at approximately 30 minutes. When the timer rings, pull the plug out of the socket. Leave the appliance to cool. Pour out the contents of the water container. Rinse the water container several times with cold water.
