How to use the grill for the first time?

Before first use, remove packaging, clean the grid and reflector plate with a damp cloth. Fill the drip tray with 1.5 liters of cold water up to the MAX mark. Install the reflector plate. Plug in the appliance and set the dial to MAX for about 15 minutes to remove the protective film. Slight smoke may appear. Then let it heat for 5 minutes before use.

Can I use charcoal?

No, never use charcoal or other fuels with this appliance. It is designed only for electric operation.

How much water to put in the tank?

Pour 1.5 liters of cold water up to the MAX mark. The water level must exceed the reflector plate. Never operate the appliance without water.

What if the heating element does not heat?

Check that the power cord is plugged in and that the heating element is properly installed in the tank. The heating element has a safety device that prevents operation if it is not in place.

How to clean the grill?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool. The grid, reflector plate and tank can be washed with soapy water. The heating part should be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use a metal brush and never immerse the heating element in water.

Can I use the grill outdoors?

Yes, but only in completely dry weather. Never leave the appliance outside after use. Place it on a flat, heat-resistant surface, at least 15 cm away from any flammable object.

How to adjust the temperature?

Use the temperature dial: low or medium setting to keep warm or simmer, MAX setting to grill quickly. The indicator light turns off when the set temperature is reached.

What is the maximum weight the grid can support?

Do not place more than 2 kg on one side of the grid. Do not place plates, trays or aluminum foil directly on the grid.

What if the water level drops during use?

If the water level drops below the MIN mark, first unplug the appliance, then fill with cold water up to MAX. Never pour cold water onto the hot heating element to avoid damaging it.

How to store the appliance after use?

Let the appliance cool completely. Clean it as instructed. Assemble all parts as shown in the diagram. Store in a dry place, away from heat and sunlight.

General Safety Instructions

• Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
• To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.
• Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.

Special safety notes for this unit

• Caution: During operation the temperature of the exposed surface may be very hot. Danger of burns!
• Caution: Charcoal or similar fuels must not be used for this device.
• Keep at an adequate safety distance from inflammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. Keep at a minimum distance of at least 15cm from the wall.
• Place the unit on a flat and heat-resistant surface.
• Allow the unit to cool down before you put it away.
• Never let any water get into the fat.
• Distribute weight evenly on the grill shelf. Maximum weight: 2 kg.
  If the unit is used outdoors, take the following precautions:

Use the unit only in fine weather conditions.

• After use, NEVER leave the unit outdoors.

• First remove the heating element (1).
• Remove any packaging material that may be present.
• Clean the grill grid (5) and the reflective metal sheet (7) with a moist cloth.
• Turn the grill tray (4) upside down.
  Use the threaded screws to attach the feet (8) to the grill tray (4).
• Assemble the grill as shown in illustration 1.
• Pour 1.5 litres of cold water into the grill tray up to the "MAX" Mark.

Note: Pour in the water until it covers the reflective metal sheet (7). The water bath and the metal sheet prevent excessive heat radiation in the area of the standing surface of the grill.

Therefore you should always grill food using water and with the reflective metal sheet in place.

Before using for the first time, fill the grill tray with water and use it for 15 minutes to remove the protective film from the heating coil. Select the MAX thermostat position. The presence of smoke is normal. Make sure that a sufficient level of ventilation is available.

Preheat the device before use for approximately 5 minutes.

Usage

• Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz protective contact socket.
• Fill in 1.5 l of cold water up to the "MAX" mark in the trough.
• Set the thermostat for the desired use: a low or medium temperature for warming or cooking, MAX. for rapid cooking and grilling. The LED shuts off when the desired temperature is reached.
• Lay the food directly on the grill grid. Never use plates, trays or aluminum foil beneath the food. The grilling time depends on the thickness of the food and the set temperature. Thick foods are grilled more quickly by piercing it with metal skewers. Turn the food from time to time.
  The height of the grill grid can be varied. Please see illustration 2.
• Should the water level drop below the MIN mark after continuous use, pull the plug from the socket and fill with water until the MAX mark is reached. Do not pour any cold water over the hot heating element. Otherwise this may be damaged.

Switching-off: Turn the thermostat to 0^ and pull the plug.

Troubleshooting

The heating element is fitted with a safety switch. This prevents the heating element being operated outside the grill tray. If the heating does not switch on, please check the mains connection and whether the heating element is fitted correctly into the grill tray.

Cleaning

• Always pull the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.
• Clean the unit with a slightly dampened cloth. Never dip the heating element into water!
• The gridiron, reflective metal sheet and trough can be cleaned in soapy water.
• Never use a steel brush or other scratching objects.
• Assemble all the parts as shown in the diagram.

Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.
