These instructions will help you to become familiar with your machine and to operate it correctly. Please read our instructions before you operate the machine.

Unpacking the machine
You should examine both the shipping carton and the machine as soon as it has arrived. If you find any damage, retain the packaging so that it can, if necessary, be examined by the carrier. Contact the carrier immediately and report the damage.

- The plug on the connecting cable must be inserted into a socket that accords with regulations.
- Always disconnect the mains cable from the power network before carrying out any cleaning, servicing or maintenance work.
- Always use suitable extension cables.
- Only connect to a power network that is fitted with leakage current protection equipment.
- Only persons who are familiar with the machine and who have been instructed in the possible hazards may operate, service or repair it.
- Remove all jewellery when working close to electrical components.
- Only use original replacement and accessory parts. No liability is accepted for similar parts from other manufacturers.
- When performing cleaning and servicing work, ensure that authoritative regulations applicable to the particular location regarding the correct handling of oils, fats, acids, alkalis, fuels and other similar agents are obeyed.
- Observe the regulations applicable to your location when disposing of old machines or their components.
- Do not clean the machine with a high-pressure cleaner.
1. Preparing the Machine

- Bring control handle into a vertical position
- Tilt machine backwards
- Fit accessory manually by turning to the left

2. Correct working position

3. Switching on/off

Caution!
Only start the machine when the control handle is locked.

The built-in "dead-man's" switch prevents the machine from being switched on when the control handle is vertical.

Starting the Machine:
Possible only with tilted control handle
- Push the switch outwards with the index finger - press and hold

Release the switch

4. Using the Machine

Caution!
Take care of the mains cable
- Lightly grip the handles of the control handle in both hands
Start machine
- Push the control handle gently downwards = the machine runs to the left
- Lift the control handle gently upwards = the machine runs to the right
5. Working Technique
- Begin as far away as you can from the socket or door
- Work backwards
- Steadily work one track forwards and back
- Work so that the tracks overlap by about 1/3
6. Fitting the spray system
- Undo the spray system's locking screws
- Place it on the control handle underneath the cable holder
- Point the spray nozzle towards the rear
- Attach the cable to the lever
- Tighten the locking screws
7. Fitting the dust extractor
- Mount the vacuum unit on the control handle
- Insert the vacuum hose
- Insert cable into the control bar
- Fit the vacuum ring
8. Fitting the tank
- Place the tank on the lower control handle holder
- Fix it in place with the upper holder
- Attach the cable to the left hand lever on the control handle
- Connect the liquid hose to the tank and insert it to the side of the motor
9. Fitting shampoo accessory
(only for the 421 A/B)
- Place the tank on the lower control handle holder
- Fix it in place with the upper holder
- Attach the cable to the left hand lever on the control handle
- Connect the liquid hose to the tank and insert it to the side of the motor
- Mount the shampooing equipment and the fan in the tank
- Attach the shampoo nozzle under the machine
10. Maintenance and service
- Always withdraw the mains plug before beginning servicing work.
- Regularly check the mains plug and connecting cable for functional safety.
- Only trained electricians may work on electrical components.
- Clean the accessory
- Regularly clean the spray device with water after use.
- Regularly wipe down the machine with a damp cloth.

This prevents them from becoming distorted
