USER MANUAL KR12SL BLAUPUNKT
• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference. • The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom. • Do not install the product in the following areas: - Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to radiators. - On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat. - Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area. - Areas where there is constant vibration. • Humid or moist places. • Do not place near candles or other naked flames. - Operate the product only as instructed in this manual. • Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power adaptor is properly connected.
For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Install backup battery power: push out the battery compartment door (at the bottom of unit), insert 2 AA size batteries (not included). Make sure that the inserted battery is in correct position according to the engraved positive and negative polarity symbol. The battery power is used to backup clock and alarm setting only.
Note:
a. Please dispose of the battery in an environmentally friendly way, and follow the requirements of your local government. b. Do not mix battery brands when installing; remove the battery if the unit will not be used for a long time to avoid leakage.

Using the unit on a table: Place the unit on a flat table. Pull out the stand for a better viewing angle and adequate space for sound, as the speakers are located at the bottom of the unit.
Wall-mounting the unit
Important: Only use the mounting accessories (included) when mounting the unit. Using unapproved accessories not designed for this unit may cause safety hazards.
a. Retract the bottom stand before mounting. Use the provided cabinet mounting template to mark the desired location. Drill the mounting holes, then remove the template. To reduce risk, consult a technician if you are unsure whether the mounting surface is strong enough to support the unit safely.
b. Push out the mounting plate (see illustration (a)). c. If the unit is mounted too high to reach, use the supplied long plastic poles. Insert them into the position holes (see illustration (b)). d. Position the mounting plate and secure it with the supplied screws. e. Slide the unit back onto the mounting plate.
Caution: To reduce the risk of fire, do not place any heating or cooking appliances beneath this unit.

Power connection and turning on the unit: Uncoil the attached power cable, then insert the plug into a household AC wall socket to supply power. The display will light up, and the unit will automatically scan and save available FM stations. Briefly press the ON/OFF knob to switch the unit to standby or on.
Clock time setting: In standby mode, press and hold the setup button for 2 seconds until "24H" flashes on the display. Rotate the timer knob to select the time format (12 or 24 hours). Press the setup button again to confirm and move to hour setting. Repeat the process to set minutes, year, month, day, RDS, and auto dim on/off.
Clock time synchronization via RDS: When RDS is enabled, a clock icon will appear below the time on the display. The clock can update automatically when a time signal is received from a broadcasting radio station.
Alarm setting: In standby mode, press and hold the alarm button for 2 seconds until the hour digit flashes. Rotate the timer knob to adjust the hours, then press the alarm button again to confirm and move to minute setting. Repeat to set minutes and alarm source (radio/buzz/off).
Note:
a. The unit will revert to standby mode automatically if there is no further operation for the last 10 seconds. b. The alarm will be activated when the alarm time is reached. Short press the ON/OFF knob to cancel the alarm voice, and the alarm setting will remain, and it will wake up again at the same time the next day.
Countdown time setting for cooking: the unit includes 2 set countdown timers (T1 and T2) which are useful for cooking. The unit will alert by buzzer when the set time is reached. In standby mode, rotate the timer knob to adjust timer 1 range between 1 minute to 3 hours 59 minutes, press down the timer knob to confirm the setting, then the T1 icon and countdown time information will show on display; short press the Timer 1/2 button until the T2 icon flashes on display, and rotate the timer knob to adjust timer 2's setting range between 5 minutes to 3 hours 55 minutes, press down the timer knob to confirm it. Then timer 2 will start to work.
Note:
a. The time format will be shown as "MM:SS" on display if the setting is less than 5 minutes; and switch to "HH:MM" format if the setting is equal to or above 5 minutes. b. The unit will send a short alarm each when the remaining countdown time reaches 30s, 15s, 10s, 5s; and become continuous alarming when the time is reached; short press down the ON/OFF knob to cancel the alarm. c. When only one countdown time is set up, no matter whether it is Timer1 or Timer2, press and hold the timer knob can cancel it; short press the Timer1/2 button twice, then press and hold the timer knob can cancel the Timer2 setting when both Timer1 and Timer2 were set up.
Radio operation
Before listening to the radio, please fully extend the tail antenna in order to get better reception. Rotate the volume knob to adjust the output level for listening. In case of noise output in station, you can try to switch mono or stereo mode (long press mono/stereo button) for clear sound listening.
Scan and all-in-one scan: press and hold the search +/- button for 2 seconds to auto scan the available station in upward or downward frequency, the unit will stop and broadcast the available station; press and hold the AMS button for 2 seconds to scan and save the available station automatically (max support up to 20 stations); short press the preset +/- button to switch the preset station. The unit also can scan and save available station automatically when you connect power first time.
Station manual memory: when you tune a favorite station by scanning, short press the memory button first, press preset +/- to select the preset station number you desire to save, short press the memory button again to confirm it; then the current station will be saved.
Display brightness adjustment: press and hold the dimmer button for 2 seconds to adjust the display brightness between high and low. When the display is at low level, pressing any button will light it up for 10 seconds and then turn off automatically. Auto dim: if you select DT ON during clock time setting (a DT icon shows on the display), the display will auto dim between 23:00~5:00.
LED light: short press the light on/off button to turn on or off the LED light. The light will stay on for 120 minutes and then turn off automatically in case you forget to turn it off.
