How to connect the Marmitek Connect AH31 converter?

Plug the supplied power adapter into the micro-USB port of the device, then connect your sources and displays via HDMI™ or RCA cables. Turn on the converter using the switch (if present).

What cables are needed to use the Connect AH31?

You will need HDMI™ and/or RCA (composite) cables depending on your devices. A micro-USB cable for power is included.

Does the converter support 5.1 audio signals?

Yes, the Connect AH31 supports Dolby Digital and DTS up to 5.1 channels via the optical S/PDIF output. For analog audio, only PCM stereo signals are available.

Can I convert an HDMI™ signal to Composite?

Absolutely. The bidirectional converter allows conversion from HDMI™ to Composite and vice versa. Simply plug the cables into the appropriate ports.

What is the maximum supported output resolution?

The maximum resolution is 1080p Full HD (1920 x 1080) for HDMI™ signals. In Composite, resolution is limited to 480i/576i.

Does the converter work with a 4K source?

No, the Connect AH31 does not support 4K. If you connect a 4K source, the image will be converted and displayed at a maximum of 1080p.

How to clean my Marmitek Connect AH31?

Unplug the device, then gently wipe the housing with a soft, dry cloth. Never use chemicals or liquids.

What to do if the device does not turn on?

Check that the power adapter is properly connected and the wall outlet works. Try another micro-USB cable. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

Is the converter compatible with PAL and NTSC systems?

Yes, it detects and automatically adapts to PAL, NTSC and SECAM standards. No manual adjustment is necessary.

Can I use the converter without the power adapter?

USB power is possible if your source (e.g. TV) provides enough current (5V/500mA minimum). However, for optimal stability, use the supplied adapter.

Congratulations on your purchase of the Marmitek Connect AH31™! This device allows you to convert a composite signal with stereo audio to an HDMI signal. This is ideal when you want to connect a video source with a SCART or RCA output to an HDTV or projector with an HDMI input. Examples of such video sources are a DVD-player, video recorder or a security camera.

4. INSTALLATION

Before installation:

• Turn off all devices (HDTV and video source) before connecting them to the Connect AH31™. If a device cannot be turned off, please remove the plug from the socket.
• Only use High Speed HDMI® certified cables for the best picture and sound quality. Using too much force to connect or disconnect the HDMI cables may damage them.

1. Use the supplied RCA cable to connect the video source (such as a DVD player, video recorder or security camera) to the input marked "Video L - Audio - R". If desired, use the SCART adapter).
2. Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDTV or projector to the HDMI port marked "HDMI".
3. Set the built-in selector switch to the desired output resolution, 720p or 1080p.
4. Use the USB power cable to connect the power adapter to the "USB power" connector and insert the plug into the wall socket.

No (or poor) image and sound

If you experience a poor picture or no picture after connecting the HDMI converter, please try to identify the problem by connecting the video source directly to a screen (TV or projector). This allows you to determine whether the problem is with the video source, the RCA cable, the HDMI converter or the screen.

• Make sure the power adapter is connected and plugged in.
• For the best picture and sound quality, only use High Speed HDMI® certified cables.
• Do not use HDMI cables longer than those specified in the technical data.
• Check the HDMI and RCA cables and/or connectors for damage.
