• Keep this instruction booklet for future use.
  • Each country has different safety laws and regulations for the transportation of children in cars. For this reason, it is recommended that you should contact your local authority for further information.
• WARNING! According to car accident statistics, the rear seats of a car are generally safer than the front seat: it is therefore recommended to fit the child car seat into the rear seats of the car. In particular, the central rear seat is the safest, if it is fitted with a 3-point safety harness: in this event, it is recommended to fit the child car seat into the central rear seat of the car.
• WARNING! DANGER! Never fit this child car seat into a front seat equipped with frontal airbag. Fit the child car seat into the front seat only if the frontal airbag has been deactivated: check with the car manufacturer, or in the car instructions manual, whether the airbag can be deactivated.
• If the child car seat is fitted in the front seat of the car (only if the frontal airbag is not present or it has been deactivated), it is recommended to push the seat back as much as possible, bearing in mind the comfort of the passenger sitting in the seat directly behind it.
• Never use this child car seat on side-facing

or rear-facing car seats.

- Fit the child car seat only in front-facing seats that are correctly secured in the car. Never leave folding or rotating car seats unsecured, they may be a source of danger in the event of an accident.

- Pay attention when fitting the child car seat into the car to avoid that a mobile car seat or car door may interfere with it.

- Never fit the child car seat into a car seat if it is only equipped with a (2-points) lap belt.

- No child car seat can guarantee the total safety of your child in the event of an accident, but the use of this product reduces the risk of serious injuries or death.

- The risk of serious injuries to the child increases, not only in the case of accidents, but also in other circumstances (i.e.: sudden braking, etc.) if these instructions are not followed carefully: always check that the child car seat is secured correctly to the car's seat.

- If the child car seat is damaged, deformed or worn out, it must be replaced: it may no longer comply with the original safety standards.

- This product must not be modified in any way, unless the modification is approved by the manufacturer.

- Do not install accessories, spare parts or components not supplied or approved by the manufacturer.

- Never leave your child unattended in the child car seat for any reason.

- To avoid the risk that the child may fall, secure the child to the child car seat also when carrying the child car seat by hand.

- When it is not used in the car, it is dangerous to place the child car seat onto raised surfaces.

- Never leave the child car seat unsecured in the car seat, it may hurt or injure the passengers.

- Do not insert anything between the car seat and the child car seat, or between the child car seat and the child, unless it is an accessory approved by the manufacturer: in case of accident the child car seat may not operate correctly.

- In case the car is left under direct sunlight, it is recommended to cover the child car seat.

- An accident, even a minor incident, may cause damages to the child car seat, which are not visible to the naked eye: it is there-

fore necessary to replace the child car seat.

- Before carrying the child car seat by hand, ensure that the child is fastened with the safety harness, and that the handle is correctly locked in a vertical position.

- The KeyFit car seat can be fitted to all Chicco strollers equipped with suitable fixing systems as a standard or to the ones that can be purchased separately

- Always check the fixing system indicated by the manufacturer and compatibility with the car seat on the instructions leaflet of the stroller

- Before carrying the child in the child car seat fitted to the stroller, ensure the child car seat is secured to the stroller.

- Do not use second-hand child car seats: they may have suffered structural damages not visible to the naked eye, which could compromise the safety of the product.

- Artsana declines all responsibility for any inappropriate use of the product.

- The fabric cover can be replaced only with another fabric cover approved by the manufacturer, because it is an integral part of the child car seat. The child car seat must never be used without the fabric cover.

- Check that the safety harness strap is not twisted to avoid that the strap or any parts of the child car seat remain trapped between the car doors, or rub against cutting edges. If the safety harness is cut or frayed, it must be replaced.

- Do not transport loose or unsecured objects or baggage on the back shelf of the vehicle: in the event of an accident or sudden braking, they may injure the passengers.

- Ensure that all the car passengers fasten their seat belt, for their own safety and because, during the journey, they may injure the child in the event of an accident or sudden braking of the car.

- On long journeys, it is recommended to make frequent stops: children tire very easily. Do not remove the child from the child car seat while travelling. If the child needs attention, it is necessary to stop the car in a safe place.

- Premature babies, born after less than 37 weeks of pregnancy, may be at risk in the child car seat. These newborn babies may have breathing difficulties when seated in the child car seat. We recommend to consult your doctor, or the hospital's staff, to have a medical opinion on your child, and

whether it can be carried in the child car seat when leaving the hospital.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

The child car seat is approved for “Group 0+”, which includes children from birth up to 13 kg of weight.

IMPORTANT WARNING

1. This is a "Universal" child restraint. It is approved to Regulation No. 44.04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles, and it will fit most, but not all car seats.
2. A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared that the vehicle is capable of accepting a “Universal” child restraint for this age group.
3. This child restraint has been classified as "Universal" under more stringent conditions than those that were applied to earlier designs not displaying this notice.
4. Only suitable if the vehicle is fitted with a 3-point static or 3-point retractor safety belt approved to UN/ECE Regulation No. 16, or other equivalent standards.
5. If in doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.

USE RESTRICTIONS

CAUTION! Please read the following instructions carefully when using the product with the car seat. Failure to comply with these introductions may affect the safety of your child.

1. The child car seat is intended for children weighing up to 13 Kg.
2. Never fit this child car seat into a front seat equipped with frontal airbag. Fit the child car seat into the front seat only if the frontal airbag has been deactivated: check with the car manufacturer, or in the car instructions manual, whether the airbag can be deactivated.
3. Never use the mini insert if the child weighs more than 6 Kg.

Make sure that the buckle seat belt is not too high (Diag 15). Otherwise, try to install the car seat for your child on another car seat in the car.

CAR SEAT AND SAFETY BELT REQUIREMENTS

The child car seat may be fitted to the front passenger seat or any rear seat, but with the following restrictions. The child car seat must:

• be fitted in a front-facing position (diag.1)
• be fitted with a 3-point static or 3-point retractor safety belt (diag.2A).

CAUTION! Never fit the child car seat into a car seat if it is only equipped with a lap belt (diag. 2B).

HOW TO ADJUST THE SAFETY HARNESS

WARNING! The safety harness must always be adjusted to the size of the child's body.

Before fitting the child car seat into the car, it is necessary to adjust the height of the child's safety harness.

The correct position of safety harness is slightly below the child's shoulders (diag. 3). The height of the child car seat can be adjusted to 3 positions (diag. 4).

The child car seat has a mini insert which ensures maximum protection and comfort to children from birth up to 6 Kg of weight (diag. 5).

Before fitting the mini insert, check that the belts are inserted into the hole located in the lowest position: this is the only position allowed for using this accessory.

WARNING! For your child's safety: Do not use the mini insert if the child weighs more than 6 Kg.

HOW TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE SAFETY HARNESS

1. Unfasten the safety harness, pressing the red button located on the buckle (diag. 6).
2. Remove the two ends of the safety harness from the anchor-shaped hook, as shown in diag. 7.
3. Remove the two parts of the safety harness from the front of the child car seat, and insert them into the hole which is most suitable to the child's height (diag. 8).
4. Re-insert the two ends of the safety harness into the anchor-shaped hook (diag. 9).

Storing the Product

When it is not fitted into the car, it is recommended to store the child car seat in a dry place, away from sources of heat and to protect it from dust, humidity and direct sunlight.

HOW TO FIT THE CHILD CAR SEAT INTO THE CAR

1. Put the child car seat's handle in a vertical position, pressing the two side adjustment buttons (diag. 10).
2. Place the child car seat onto the car seat where you wish to fit it (diag. 11).
3. Pull the car safety belt and lock it into the appropriate buckle, sliding the lap belt into the two side guides of the child car seat (diag. 12).
4. Hold the diagonal belt and pull it, until the lap belt is tensioned correctly (diag. 13). At the end of these operations, check that the lap belt is still locked correctly into the appropriate guides.
5. While keeping the diagonal belt tensioned, slide it into the guide, located on the rear of the backseat (diag. 14). Tension the belt as much as possible, checking that it is not slack or twisted.

WARNING! After fitting the child car seat, always check that car safety belt is tensioned correctly, and that it is safely locked into its buckle. Also check that the buckle of the car safety belt does not come into contact with the points where the safety belt fastens the

child car seat: it could make the child car seat unsafe in the event of an accident (diag. 15A, diag. 15B)

CAUTION! For your child's safety: Do not fasten the child car seat with the car safety belt in any other ways than as indicated in this instructions booklet!

HOW TO PLACE THE CHILD INTO THE CHILD CAR SEAT

1. Press the orange button located at the front of the child car seat and, while pressing the button, pull completely the two belts of the child car seat (diag. 16).
2. Unfasten the buckle of the safety belts pressing the red button (diag. 17).
3. Place the child into the child car seat and fasten the harness (diag. 18). The shape of the straps does not allow to insert a single strap.
4. Tension the safety harness, pulling the appropriate adjustment belt (diag. 19), and make sure that it fits correctly the child

HOW TO ADJUST THE HANDLE

The handle of the child car seat can be adjusted to 3 positions (diag. 20):

A Position for car, hand or stroller transportation.
B Rocking position.
C Baby chair position.

CHILD CAR SEAT IN THE BABY CHAIR OR ROCKING POSITION (FOR USE AS A RE-CLINED CRADLE)

1. Unfasten the car safety belt.
2. Remove the diagonal part of the car safety belt form the clamp.
3. Hold the safety belt and ease it into the retractor.

How to Fit the Child Car Seat into the Car without the Child

When it is not used in the car, the child car seat can also be used as a bouncing or baby chair.

To use it in the rocking position, place the handle in the "B" position.

To use it as a baby chair, place the handle in the "C" position.

Important! Please keep these instructions for future reference.

WARNING: Never leave the child unattended WARNING: Do not use the Reclined Cradle once your child can sit unaided.

WARNING: This reclined cradle is not intended for prolonged periods of sleeping.

WARNING: It is dangerous to use the Reclined Cradle on an elevated surface, such as tables, chairs, etc..

WARNING: Always use the restraint system.

The Reclined Cradle does not replace a cot or a bed. Should your child need to sleep, then it should be placed in a suitable cot or bed.

Do not use the reclined cradle if any components are broken or missing

Do not use accessories or replacement parts other than those approved by the manufacturer.

Wash by hand in cold water; Do not bleach; Do not tumble dry; Do not iron; Do not dry clean.

Age: From birth to approximately 6 months (up to 9kg.)

Only place the reclined cradle on flat, stable surfaces.

WARNING! Before carrying the child car seat, always place and lock the handle in the vertical position "A".

HOW TO REMOVE THE FABRIC COVER

To clean the fabric cover of the child car seat, unfasten the harness and remove the fabric cover. During these operations, make sure that you:

• Unfasten the two side elastics before removing the fabric cover from the frame (diag. 21).
• Remove the fabric cover from the adjustment button of the safety harness, as shown in diag. 22.

Please refer to the care label for instructions on cleaning the fabric cover.

Clean the safety belts, buckle and plastic parts with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents or bleaching agents: they may damage the components or make them unsafe.

To fit / remove the sun canopy, press the two locking / unlocking buttons, located on the side, as shown in diag. 23.

HOW TO FIT THE CHILD CAR SEAT TO THE STROLLER

The KeyFit car seat can be fitted to all Chicco strollers equipped with suitable fixing systems as a standard (fig. 24A) or to the ones that can be purchased separately (fig. 24B)

Always check the fixing system indicated by the manufacturer and compatibility with the car seat on the instructions leaflet of the stroller

1. Open the stroller by following the instructions provided in the relative instructions manual

2. Lift the sun hood of the stroller, if in use

3. Recline the back panel completely

4. Position the handle of the car seat in a vertical position (fig. 20 A) and fix the car seat to the stroller by following the instructions of the manual of the car seat in the relative paragraph.

5. In order to release the car seat of the stroller, simply press the orange button at the back (as illustrated in figure 25) and lift the car seat using the handle

WARNING! The child car seat can be fitted to the stroller also with the child sitting in the seat, although the child's weight could make the operations more difficult.
