How to use a BOSCH QUIGO laser level?
Frequently Asked Questions - 06/23/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The BOSCH QUIGO is a very easy-to-use laser level for marking precise horizontal and vertical lines indoors.

Usage Steps:

  • Battery Installation: Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries into the designated compartment (observe polarity). The level operates for about 10 hours on a full charge.
  • Power On: Press the power button. The laser activates immediately.
  • Positioning: Place the level on a flat surface. Thanks to its self-leveling (range of ±4°), it automatically adjusts for small variations.
  • Usage: The level projects crossed reference lines (horizontal and vertical) up to 10 meters. Performance decreases outdoors, especially in direct light.

Important Points:

  • Safety: Never look directly into the laser beam and do not direct it towards people or animals. This device emits class 2 laser radiation.
  • Accuracy: The typical accuracy is ±0.5 mm/m.
  • Maintenance: Regularly clean with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse in water and avoid detergents or solvents.
  • Temperature: Operates between -10°C and +50°C.

For technical questions or repairs, contact BOSCH customer service at 0811360122 (local rate).

Where is the calibration screw located on the BOSCH QUIGO laser level?
Frequently Asked Questions - 03/17/2026
Response Notice-Facile

On the BOSCH QUIGO laser level, the calibration screw is located at the back of the device. This screw allows for precise adjustment of the horizontal and vertical laser lines to ensure measurement and leveling accuracy during your work.

Location and access:

  • Turn the QUIGO laser over to access its back panel.
  • Locate a small removable protective cap or cover that covers the calibration screw.
  • Gently remove this cap by pulling it towards you.
  • The calibration screw is now exposed and accessible.

Using the screw:

  • Use an appropriately sized screwdriver (usually a small Phillips screwdriver).
  • Turn the screw very slightly to adjust the laser alignment.
  • Check after each small adjustment by positioning the laser against a known reference line (vertical wall or horizontal floor).
  • Do not force the screw to avoid damaging it or breaking the internal mechanism.

After your calibration adjustments, replace the protective cap to protect the screw and keep the device in good condition.

Working safely with the measuring tool is possible only when the operating and safety information are read completely and the instructions contained therein are strictly followed. Never make warning labels on the measuring tool unrecognisable. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

  • Caution - The use of other operating or adjusting equipment or the application of other processing methods than those mentioned here, can lead to dangerous radiation exposure. The measuring tool is provided with a warning label in German (location, see "Symbols", page 10).

BOSCH QUIGO - BOSCH - 2

Laser Radiation Class 2 - do not stare into beam

IEC 60825-1:2007-03 <1mW, 635nm

Before putting into operation for the first time, attach the supplied sticker in your national language over the German text on the warning label. Do not direct the laser beam at persons or animals and do not stare into the laser beam yourself. This measuring tool produces laser class 2 laser radiation according to IEC 60825-1. This can lead to persons being blinded. - Do not use the laser viewing glasses as safety goggles. The laser viewing glasses are used for improved visualisation of the laser beam, but they do not protect against laser radiation. - Do not use the laser viewing glasses as sun glasses or in traffic. The laser viewing glasses do not afford complete UV protection and reduce colour perception. Have the measuring tool repaired only through qualified specialists using original spare parts. This ensures that the safety of the measuring tool is maintained. Do not allow children to use the laser measuring tool without supervision. They could unintentionally blind other persons or themselves. - Do not operate the measuring tool in explosive environments, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dusts. Sparks can be created in the measuring tool which may ignite the dust or fumes.

Additional Safety and Working Instructions

Alkali-manganese batteries are recommended for the measuring tool. Remove the batteries from the measuring tool when not using it for extended periods. When storing for extended periods, the batteries can corrode and discharge themselves. Protect the measuring tool against moisture and direct sun light. Do not subject the measuring tool to extreme temperatures or variations in temperature. As an example, do not leave it in vehicles for longer periods. In case of large variations in temperature, allow the measuring tool to adjust to the ambient temperature before putting it into operation. In case of extreme temperatures or variations in temperature, the accuracy of the measuring tool can be impaired. Avoid heavy impact to or falling down of the measuring tool. Damage to the measuring tool can impair its accuracy. After heavy impact or shock, compare the laser line with a known horizontal or vertical reference line. When switching on the measuring tool, do not direct the laser beam at persons or animals and do not stare into the laser beam yourself. Immediately after switching on, the measuring tool sends laser beams out of the exit opening. Switch the measuring tool off during transport. When switching off, the levelling unit, which can be damaged in case of intense movement, is locked. Do not leave the switched on measuring tool unattended and switch the measuring tool off after use. Other persons could be blinded by the laser beam. Always use the centre of the laser line for marking. The width of the laser line changes with the distance. In case of ground vibrations or position changes during operation, the measuring tool is automatically levelled in again. To avoid errors, check the position of the horizontal and vertical laser line with regard to the reference points upon re-levelling.
