Frequently Asked Questions - M500DCS GORENJE

How do I attach the beaters or dough hooks?
Ensure the appliance is switched off and unplugged. Insert the stem of a beater into one of the mounting holes in the motor unit, push and turn until it locks. Repeat for the other beater. For dough hooks, insert the hook with a pair of ears into the right opening and the one with a finger ring into the left opening.
How do I remove the attachments?
Switch off and unplug the appliance. Keep the release button depressed and pull the beaters or dough hooks out of the motor unit.
What is the Turbo function and how do I use it?
The Turbo function provides the highest speed for quick mixing or whipping. Press the 'TURBO' knob while the mixer is operating to activate it. You can also turn the speed selector to the pulse position for short bursts of high speed.
Can I wash the beaters and dough hooks in the dishwasher?
The manual recommends washing them in warm soapy water and drying well. Dishwasher use is not mentioned, so hand washing is safer to prevent damage.
How do I clean the motor unit?
Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth only. Do not use abrasive or solvent-based cleaners, and never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid.
What are the different speed settings for?
The speed settings are: 1 Fold (for dry ingredients), 2 Blend (for liquids), 3 Mix (for cakes), 4 Cream (for creaming butter and sugar), 5 Whip (for eggs and cream). Turbo and pulse provide maximum speed.
Is this mixer suitable for kneading bread dough?
Yes, the dough hooks are designed for mixing and kneading dough. Use the appropriate speed (Fold or Mix) and ensure the dough is not too stiff to avoid overloading the motor.
What safety precautions should I take?
Always unplug the appliance before attaching or removing parts, cleaning, or leaving unattended. Do not touch moving parts, keep the cord away from heat and sharp edges, and operate only with dry hands. Children aged 8+ can use it under supervision.
What does the noise level of 72 dB mean?
72 dB is a moderate noise level, comparable to a vacuum cleaner. It is within normal range for a hand mixer.
Where can I get spare parts or service?
Contact the Gorenje Customer Care Centre in your country (phone number in the guarantee leaflet) or visit a local Gorenje dealer. Only skilled personnel should perform repairs.
