DEEP FRYER

The deep fryer is intended for frying different food (mostly potatoes, vegetables, meat, fish, dough, mushrooms) in hot fat or vegetable oil (frying fat).

SAFETY MEASURES

Read this instruction manual carefully before using the deep fryer and keep it for the whole operation period. Use the unit for intended purposes only, as specified in this manual. Mishandling the unit can lead to its breakage and cause harm to the user or damage to his/her property.

  • Before plugging the unit in make sure that the operating voltage of the unit corresponds to voltage of your mains.
  • Power cord is equipped with "euro plug"; plug it into the socket with reliable grounding contact.
  • To avoid fire do not use adapters for connecting the unit to the mains.
    • To avoid risk of fire or electric shock do not use adapters for connecting the unit to the mains.
  • Place the unit on a flat, stable heat-resistant surface with free access to the mains socket.

• To avoid burns by hot steam, do not bend over the unit.
- Do not leave the deep fryer lid open during operation.
- Be careful: the unit body heats up strongly during operation, do not touch hot surfaces.
- Ensure that oil level in the deep fryer is not below the minimal mark and not above the maximal mark.
- When operating with hot oil use only heat-resistant kitchen tools with thermally insulated handles.
• Never pour out hot oil, let it cool off.
- If possible, put dry ingredients into the deep fryer, as even if little moisture gets into hot oil, it will lead to splashing of oil.
- Do not overload the unit with products. It may lead to their burning.
- In case of oil burning, unplug the unit and cover it with a thick, non-burning cloth if possible.

NEVER POUR WATER ON FIRE!

  • Do not move the unit until the frying oil cools down completely. Use handles on the body of the unit to carry it.
  • Unplug the unit before cleaning or when you do not use it.
  • When disconnecting the power plug, do not pull the cord but hold the plug with your hand.
  • Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
  • Do not use the unit next to a kitchen sink; do not expose it to moisture.

  • Holding the lid (2) with your hand, open it by pressing the button (8).
  • Wash the removable parts: the lid (2), the bowl for oil (4), the basket (9) thoroughly with warm water and a neutral detergent.
  • Dry the bowl for oil (4) thoroughly and install it into the process chamber.

Viewing window

To avoid weeping of the viewing window (3) lubricate the inner surface with vegetable oil.

Temperature control knob

The temperature control knob (7) provides maintenance of oil temperature in the bowl (4), temperature range from 130 to 190°C gives wide possibilities for cooking of different products.

Operation indicator

Red color of the indicator (5) indicates that the unit is operating in heating mode. Green color of the indicator indicates that the preset oil temperature in the bowl (4) is reached.

Timer

Use the timer button (6) to set the operation time and cooking process stop time. The operation time is shown on the timer display.

COOKING

  • Set the deep fryer on a dry, stable heat-resistant surface.
  • Insert the bowl for oil (4) into the deep fryer body (1).

Attention: Usage of the unit without the bowl for oil is strictly forbidden.

- Fill the bowl (4) with about 2,5 liters of oil of good quality in such way that the oil level is between the minimal and maximal marks on the inner surface of the bowl (4) and close the lid (2).

Note:

- It is recommended to use only high-quality refined vegetable oils (sunflower seed or corn oil) and not to use margarine or butter, as they do not endure high temperature.

- You can use a mixture of animal and vegetable fats for frying, according to the recommended recipes.

- Insert the power plug into the mains socket; you will hear a sound signal and the display of the timer (6) will light up.

- Set the heating temperature by setting the control knob (7) to the necessary digital indication (see «Cooking recommendations» section).

- Set the operation time by pressing the timer (6) button consequently. Several seconds after the installation the unit will start heating up, the indicator (5) will light up red, and the indications on the display will be flashing.

- When the oil heats up to the required temperature, the indicator (5) will light up green.

– Unfold the basket handle (10).

- Put the necessary quantity of products into the basket (9) (products should be dry, if products are frozen, then try to shake off as much ice from them as possible).

- Holding the lid (2) with your hand, open it by pressing the button (8).

- Carefully immerse the basket (9) into the bowl with oil (4) and firmly close the lid (2).

- Immerse the basket (9) into the oil. To do this press the button (11) and move the handle (10) smoothly into vertical position.

- Repeating sound signal will inform you that the preset cooking time is out and the unit was switched off.

Note:

- If you need to continue cooking, repeat the timer settings with the button (6).

- If you want to switch the unit off before the set time, press and hold the button (6) till the indications on the display change to zero (the indicator (5) will go out).

  • Lift the basket (9) by setting the handle (10) to the vertical position and let the surplus oil flow down.

TIPS

Oil

Use vegetable oil of high quality, refined oil is preferred.

  • Pour oil into the bowl (4) before switching the unit on.
    – Filter oil after each usage.

Perform filtration of oil in the following way:

• After cooking products unplug the unit and let the oil cool down completely.
- Put filter paper or a thin cotton cloth into a metal sieve or a strainer and filter the oil.
- Do not mix up different types of oil.
- At long intervals between cooking of product portions, switch the deep fryer off by pressing and holding the button (6) till the indications on the display change to zero (the indicator (5) will go out).
- Products with high content of water (for instance, potatoes), should be fried in small intervals, periodically taking out the basket and shaking the content of the basket.
- After frying of a portion of products, remove the remaining of products from the oil immediately, this way you can prolong service life of oil.
- Regularly change oil (approximately after 8-12 applications).
- Oil should be changed if it starts bubbling while heating, if it has unpleasant taste or odor, as well as if it darkened or became dense.
- If you use the deep fryer seldom, store oil or fat in closed plastic or glass bowls in a cool place (preferably in a fridge).
– Do not store oil in the deep fryer.

Cooking recommendations

  • Use high quality refined vegetable oil (for instance, sunflower seed or corn oil).
  • When frying several types of products, at first put products, which require lower processing temperature.

  • Before frying a new portion of products wait 3-5 minutes for oil to heat up to the required temperature. When the indicator (5) becomes green, start cooking a new portion of products.

  • If products have been preliminarily heat treated, as a rule, they require higher temperature of frying and less cooking time than raw products.

Chips

To make tasty crisp chips, follow these recommendations:

  • Cut potatoes in approximately 0,5 mm thick slices. Do not use new potatoes.
  • Rinse the cut potatoes under a cold water jet (it will prevent several slices from sticking during cooking).
  • Dry cut and washed potatoes, using a clean dish-towel.

Frozen products

  • Frozen products should be completely defrosted preliminary, to avoid splashing of hot oil.
  • Set oil heating temperature as specified on the package of the product. If there are no such recommendations on the package, set the cooking temperature to 190°C.
  • Before starting cooking the next portion of products, wait till oil heats up to the preset temperature and the indicator (5) lights up green.

CLEANING AND CARE

  • Keep the heating element and the bottom of the bowl for oil (4) clean, otherwise smoke and specific odor of burning oil can appear.
  • Unplug the unit and wait till the deep fryer body (1) and the oil cool down completely.
    – Remove the basket (9).
  • Remove the bowl for oil (4); pour out used oil in the suitable bowl.

Important:

  • Do not pour out oil into the sink; utilize it together with other household waste.
  • Oil, which is suitable for further usage, should be filtered and stored for further usage.
  • Remove the lid (2).
  • Wash the removable parts: the lid (2), the bowl for oil (4) and the basket (9) with warm water and neutral detergent.
    – Do not use abrasives and metal brushes.
    – Clean the unit body (1) from the inside and outside with a soft damp cloth and then wipe dry.
    – Wipe the lid (2) dry and place it on the deep fryer.
  • Provide that no liquid gets on the heating element of the unit.
  • Do not wash the lid (2) in the dishwashing machine.

Warning:

Never immerse the deep fryer body, the power plug or the power cord into water or other liquids.
