What is the minimum distance between the hob and the hood?
For electric hobs, the minimum distance is 44 cm. For gas hobs, it is 65 cm, or as recommended by the hob manufacturer.
How do I clean the grease filters?
Remove the filters by opening the snap retainer (Fig. 5). Soak them in warm water with washing-up liquid, or wash them in a dishwasher. Let them dry completely before refitting.
What are the two operating modes of the hood?
Mode 1 (factory default) controls the central fan for general ventilation. Mode 2 provides separate control for the damper and central fan speeds. You can switch between modes via programming (see manual).
How do I activate the filter guard?
Enter programming mode by pressing and holding buttons A and B for 3 seconds until they flash. Then press button F to activate/deactivate the filter guard. The LED on button F lights up when active.
How do I reset the filter guard after cleaning?
After cleaning the filters, press and hold button F for two seconds to reset the system. The LED will stop flashing.
Can I use the timer function?
Yes, you can extend the current operation by 30 minutes by pressing button F while buttons B-E are active. The damper and fan will automatically switch off after 60 minutes.
What should I do if the LED lighting fails?
Replacement of the LED lighting and driver must be carried out by a qualified professional. Contact Franke Service for an equivalent replacement part.
How do I check which operating mode is active?
Press and hold button A for 3 seconds. If button C lights up, Mode 1 is active; if button D lights up, Mode 2 is active.
Is it safe to use the hood with a gas stove?
Yes, but ensure the room has adequate air supply. Do not flambé food under the hood. Maintain a minimum distance of 65 cm between the hob and the hood.

Please read this installation and user guide carefully before installing and using the product, paying special attention to the safety instructions.

Save these instructions for later use or for the party who may take over the product after you.

Disconnect the product from the power supply prior to cleaning or maintenance.

§ Diversion of exhaust air must be carried out in accordance with instructions issued by the appropriate authority.

§ Exhaust air must not be directed into flues that are used for fumes from items such as gas, wood or oil-burning stoves or fireplaces.

§ The distance between the stove and the product must be at least 44 cm. For gas hobs, the § distance should be increased to 65 cm. Adjust accordingly if the gas hobs manufacturer recommends a higher mounting height. N.B. If the product has a stove alarm or stove guard, it must not be mounted over a gas hob. See separate instructions.

§ You must not flambé food underneath the product.

§ For safety reasons, the installation and replacement of cables or other types of connectors should only be carried out by a qualified professional.

§ If the product is to be used at the same time as products that use energy sources other than electricity, i.e., gas hobs, gas, wood or oil-burning stoves or fireplaces, etc, the room must have an adequate supply of air.

§ The product may be used by children from 8 years of age and persons with mental, sensory or physical impairment, or a lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are given information about how the product is to be used.

Children should not be allowed to play with the product. Children must not undertake cleaning or maintenance of the product unsupervised.

Accessible parts of the product may become hot when food is being prepared.

§ A fire is more likely to spread if the product is not cleaned as frequently as indicated.

The developer or proprietor is responsible for ensuring installation is carried out correctly and complies with the applicable building regulations.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The product features LED lighting (6.5 W), aluminium filters and the Easy Clean system.

FUNCTIONS

The product is equipped with two operating modes, see below. Mode 1 is active by default upon delivery. For information on how to change to mode 2, see the programming section.

The central fan always operates in standard mode for general and sanitary ventilation.

A. Lighting.
B. Increased general and sanitary ventilation. The central fan runs at top speed.
C. Open damper. Central fan - speed 1.

E. Open damper. Central fan - speed 3.

  1. Filter guard. If the filter guard is activated (see Programming below), the LED will flash when the filter needs to be cleaned. After cleaning, press and hold down button F for two seconds to reset the system.

The damper and/or the central fan close automatically after 60 minutes and the central fan returns to standard mode. It can also be returned to standard mode by pressing in the activating button one more time.

It is a good idea to have the damper open a short while before and after cooking to prevent cooking smells spreading into the room.

The product is fitted with a filter guard. To activate/deactivate the filter guard, see Programming.

*Mode 1 corresponds to the operating mode of a Franke cooker hood -14/16.

*Mode 2 corresponds to the operating mode of a Franke cooker hood -14/17.

Press and hold down button A for three seconds to check which operating mode is currently activated. See Fig. 2.
Button C lights up for two seconds if mode is active and button D lights up for two seconds if mode 2 is active. See Fig. 2.

If the product has a stove alarm or stove guard, see separate instructions.

PROGRAMMING

  1. To open programming: press and hold down buttons A and B for 3 seconds so that they both flash 3 times, see Fig. 1. Programming mode will then be active for 30 seconds.
  2. Select function: press the button for the selected function to activate/deactivate the function.

The LED on the button lights up when the function is activated.

  1. To save programming: press and hold down buttons A and B for 3 seconds, see Fig. 1. Buttons A and B will flash twice to show that the programme has been saved.

- To reprogramme the operating mode to mode 2, press and hold down button D for five seconds. See Fig. 3. Release the 1 button when the LED starts flashing.

- The flashing LED indicates that a five second time window for reprogramming has been activated.

- Now immediately press and hold down button D for another two seconds. This must be done within the activated time window, otherwise the reprogramming will be cancelled.

- The LEDs for all the buttons will flash to indicate successful reprogramming of the operating mode, see Fig. 4.

- If the LEDs are not flashing, it may mean that the programming has failed. Check the activated operating mode by following the instructions under “Checking the operating mode”.

The same programming can be done to change to mode 1, by pressing and holding down button C instead.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Attention!

In order to ensure operation, quality and safety after servicing and maintenance, use only original parts.

Cleaning the filter

The cooker hood should be cleaned with a damp cloth and washing-up liquid. In the case of normal usage, the filters must be cleaned at least every second month.

Clean more often after intensive use.

Remove the grease filter by opening the snap retainer, Fig. 5.

Handle the filter carefully, taking care not to bend it.

Soak the filter in a solution of warm water and washing-up liquid. The filter can also be washed in a dishwasher.

Refit the grease filter after cleaning, making sure it snaps firmly into place.

Cleaning other parts

The inside of the cooker hood and the damper must be cleaned at least twice a year.

The damper must be thoroughly cleaned in both its open and closed position using a damp cloth and washing-up liquid. Handle the damper carefully.

Attention!

The replacement of the LED lighting and LED driver must be carried out by an authorised professional. Contact the service organisation.

The lighting and driver must be replaced with an equivalent special light fixture and driver from the manufacturer or its service agent.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Check that the fuse is intact. Go through all the functions to check what is not working. Start by disconnecting the product from the power supply and switching it on again. Check that the connector is not bent or twisted at the connection point.

If the product has a cooker alarm or cooker guard, use the separate instructions for troubleshooting.

In order to avoid a potential hazard, installation, replacement of cables or other types of connection should be carried out by a qualified professional.

Electrical connection for 230 V\~ earthed.

The connection must be secured and the cooker hood must be preceded by an omnipolar switch.

The junction box or wall socket must be accessible after installation is complete.

If the connector is damaged, it must be replaced with an equivalent special cable from the manufacturer of their service agent.

Max. connection power 370 W at 230 V\~ when connecting a central fan (AC motor).

Output voltage from transformer 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 V.

At delivery 80, 100 and 120 V are connected.

The product is supplied with a low voltage cable for connection to an external EC motor.

OBS!

The black conductor is live and must therefore always be earthed by screwing it into a terminal block or otherwise ensuring that it does not pose a danger.

EN Note! Damper adjustment or speed changes must be carried out by a qualified professional.

Adjusting damper: Basic ventilation is set by moving the sliding damper. The damper becomes accessible for adjustment by removing the grease filter.

Changing the preset speeds: The output voltage of the speeds can be changed by reprogramming via the circuit breaker (contact Franke Service).

Open the damper by pressing button B. Loosen stop lug G by rotating it 180° (Torx/star screwdriver 10). Set the stop lug to the desired position. The markings on the damper correspond to the values in the "Basic flow" diagram – see following pages. The marking in the picture corresponds to position G7 in the diagram. Lock the stop lug. N.B. Make sure the lug is fully locked. Close the damper by pressing button B on the circuit breaker. Measure the pressure, Pm, at test point A and check that the desired basic flow has been achieved.
